The "Land" May Never Be The Same - AKA "We're Going To Disneyland!" NEW 8/8

Hope you had a good time!
I'm excited to see your pics and hear about your Disney adventure!:woohoo:

Hi everyone. I know I said I would start the report the other day but instead I got into a car accident.....again. People really need to stop driving into me.

Anyways.....things are on hold for a few more days as I try to get my life under control again.

Thanks for sticking with me here. :goodvibes

I hope you are okay.

Sorry to hear about your accident! I assume you're not too hurt, but it's a huge PITA huh. My coworker was just rearended by a big Ford truck and his car was only 6 weeks old :(

Good luck getting everything in order, and we'll all wait patiently!

No way....I just got into an accident too. 2 days ago. I think I have a sign painted on my car that says "hit me!" because this is the 6th accident I have ever been in. I am 23 and I have only had my license for 7 years.

I hope you are doing ok though! The TR can wait, just focus on getting the whole car stuff situated first. :thumbsup2

I hope you are both ok.

Looking forward to the TR resuming, but will be patient.

Day 1, Part 1 - Look Out Mickey, Here We Come

Thanks for sticking with me everyone. I'm back on my feet (sort of) and life goes on, right? :rolleyes1

When I left you last I was shutting down the computer and heading for bed anticipating a very, very early departure from home to head to the border.

Well....I was thinking I should be able to get about 6 hours of sleep which is quite a lot for me seeing as I am a very bad sleeper and I figured a good sleep would be the best way to start off a very busy holiday.

Remember that Disney commercial "I'm too excited to sleep!"? :headache:

Ya, that was me.

I set the alarm for 5am because we had to be on the road at 530am. I had already packed the truck and the girls were ready to jump into the clothes beside their beds. I just had to get up, get dressed, brush my teeth, have my coffee and jump into the truck with the girls.

Or I could still be awake at 415am. :sad2:

Oh yes, I started my vacation on less then 45 mins of sleep and I had a long day ahead of me.

Time for an extra cup or 3 of coffee.

Anywho....got up, loaded up and headed for the border. We were lucky and there were only 4 cars ahead of us in the line up! Go us!

Got through and headed to Sonic for breakfast. Except none of us eat breakfast foods so we had cheese sticks, tots, burgers and slushies for breakfast. Don't judge me! lol!

Next stop - airport!

Parked, headed into the airport and got lectured by the guy at the check in counter. Apparently if you have to check bags you are not under any circumstances to check in online ahead of time. Who knew? :confused3

After I was finished being reamed out and our bags had been checked I got a coffee and we sat down to wait for a bit.

Stayed there for a few then went through security to wait by the gate.

I'm happy to announce that the airport has done some serious renos since I was there last. Used to be that you had to wait out in a portable out on the tarmac but not any more! Its quite lovely now.

Before we knew it, it was time to climb the ramp and board our plane. Love that about Bellingham - you actually walk outside onto the tarmac and get onto the plane out there just like in old movies! lol! Yes, I'm a geek.

Made the girls touch the outside of the plane as we got on. Its a long story - you can read about it in my previous trippie (link is in my siggie and yes, I'm still pimping that thing out). They rolled their eyes but humored me anyways.

We had an "incident" on the aircraft as everyone was boarding and no, it wasn't me. :lmao:

The couple in front of me was having a "disagreement" with the flight attendant about the proper use of a car seat on an aircraft and they were not going to back down. Its a long and ugly story that resulted in the ramp crew having to come onboard to provide back up for the flight attendant. They were "escorted" off the plane complete with foul language and death threats towards everyone on the plane. I wanted to hug the poor flight attendant. She was so good during the whole thing. She was kind and listened to them and was explaining the reasoning behind the rules and was firm about following them all the while these 2 were just horrible to her.

After these 2 got the boot we were off! A wee bit late but that wasn't the crew's fault - it was these dumb, dumb's fault. :rotfl:

Just as soon as we got up in the air it seems that the early morning caught up with my girlies and this was the result

I was hoping to sleep as well but as anyone who knows me knows, I am NOT a good flier so that was out of the question.

Soon nap time was over and this ensued

Nah, they were just playing. They know better then to misbehave in public! lol! :thumbsup2

Look! California mountains!

More to come....

I hate not sleeping. I do that before every trip. I am either too excited or going over lists in my head to make sure I don't forget something. Although nice in theory even with lists there is something that I forget.

That poor flight attendant. Thank fully she had someone to back her up.

Not sleeping is the worst! It would be one thing if I was going to have a relaxing, just lay by the pool and nap kind of holiday but that's not a Disney holiday at all.

I felt horrible for the flight attendant. These people were yelling at her and calling her every name in the book - loudly. Of course we were sitting right behind them too so not only did we have ringside seats, we also couldn't pretend we didn't know what was going on. Awkward! lol!

Do you ever wonder why people automatically go to the gutter slurs when they are angry? I feel sorry for her and for all of the passengers that had to witness that. Especially the kids.

While I'll be the first to admit I can have a potty mouth at times I'd never let loose in a situation like this one. It was bad.

Yes! So great to see your first installment. :) Glad you got across the border and on the plane without too much trouble. Nice work on the Sonic lunch food for brekkie, I'm not really a breakfast food person either. Looking forward to more!

Thanks! I was worried there may be a line up at the border because that can be so unpredictable sometimes especially since we were crossing before all the crossings were open for the day but there was no problem - we just cruised across! I told the girls if there was a line up we'd have to wait and eat something on the plane but nope - lots of time for Sonic breakfast....err....lunch....

Cool trip back memory lane, I love doing those ...actually just did one in my TR :lmao: Great shots of you and the girls. Our ladies are 12 and soon to be 15, fun times trying to keep up with them.

Well you beat us with 45 minutes sleep the "night" before, we got a whopping 3 hours! Glad you made the airport and the flight out despite the carseat incident :headache:

Can't wait to hear more about your adventure!
