The King, the Queen, and the Teen.... going HOME to the Kingdom!

Actually he does... it's funny, he usually doesn't notice what I'm doing/where i am.... but when i went on my solo trip, he kept asking tom if he heard from me..and watching the news, until i checked in:lovestruc He's a good kid, just very emotionally reserved (like his dad). So it was odd for him to show all that concern!

He better work thru it! he wants to enlist in the military... they aren't gonna put up w/ the Richie Valens no flying nonsense:rotfl2:

It's nice that he was concerned about you. :goodvibes

:rotfl: to the Richie Valens no flying nonsense.

I can relate to Kyle's fears...I hate to fly! I don't think it has much to do with 9/11 however I used to have nightmares about watching planes crash and that did me in!! I have to have someone else with me or be highly medicated...and it better be somewhere that I don't have the time to drive!!

The train looks awesome and I think you and your boys will have a great time riding the train and making it to Disney!!

I can't wait to hear more!!!

Flying makes me nervous...until i get on the plane, then I'm fine:confused3 Wierd huh?? If you ever make a trek North while you are still there in FL...you could give the Auto train a shot:goodvibes

I love the pic of Buddy  We just got our dogs (including a border collie) back this morning from our recent trip. 10 days was too long to be away! Not to spoil any of your future PTRing, where does he go while you're gone?

I thought the AutoTrain sounded pretty cool, until I read that it was 17 hours! Now where is a claustrophobic smiley... :rotfl:

Hi kayla!!! Thanks for checking in!:goodvibes The 17hrs isn't bad, cause you can walk around...go to different cars, eat dinner/bfst in the dining car. much better than sitting in a car for 20+ hours LOL!! Buddy will be kennelled. We have a great kennel, that probably treats him better than we do LOL! he loves going there... but this will be the longest stay for him yet. The longest so far has been 4 days...this will be 10:scared1: But my mom lives in an apartment and can't keep him, and my inlaws have Toms Gram with them...she's 94 and really can't deal with a sorta hyper dog jumping at her!!

I hope you stick around and join me on my PTR!!

Oooh... we'll be at Disney at the same time, well, part of it. Our 2nd trip of '09 will be July 26-31, for our 1st anniversary. We'll be staying at AKV-Kidani for that trip, but we also own at SSR, and are staying there in March (on developer points)...

Can't wait to hear more of your plans!

I wish the Auto-train (or any train) made a route from Chicago to FL, because I would SOOOOO want to do that! How awesome.

You can take a regular train from Chicago to DC.... then DC to Orlando

2 adults + 2 kids for less than $900...round trip....

The downside??? 34 HOURS each way:crazy2:

I'd stick to :drive: LOL!!!

WHAT!!!!! Paula started a new TR a WEEK ago and I am just now finding it!! :guilty: How in th world did that happen?

Anyways, I'm here now! :yay: The autotrain sounds like so much fun. We actually joked about driving to DC last summer in order to take it but we could drive to FL in about the same amount of time  Doesn't quite make sense huh!

Can't wait to hear more plans

:welcome: :welcome: :welcome: Katie!!!

Glad you stopped over:goodvibes I didn't really say anything, just added the link to my siggy LOL...see who's paying attention:rotfl2:

It only takes me 3 hrs to get to DC... and it's in the same direction as we'd go we were going all the way to FL:thumbsup2 I can't bring myself to drive the whole way:scared: The price is good too. I just priced it out again today (I haven't bought tix yet...waiting for my income tax return:rolleyes1 ) it is $736 RT for 2 adults, 1 teen and my Prius (it's 6 months from now...it danged well better be done!!:lmao: ) We couldn't fly + rent a car for that;)

Paula

i'm here, i'm here! Thank goodness you sent me a message or i'd have never noticed the link in your siggy - i'm just not that observant :(

But i'm here now and your trip sounds like fun! i wonder if my BF could be convinced to go to WDW if he got to ride all the way there and all the way back on a train?

Probably not.

O.K. I'm on board :)

I ABSOLUTELY love flying--it's funny b/c when it's bumpy I fall asleep. Don't ask me why but I do. We have to fly to Atlanta and change planes..we could fly Southwest but they're more expensive than Airtran..I checked :) But I can completely understand someone not liking to fly.

I'm looking to read more of your PTR :)

I'm happy to have you join this little PTR!!

I wouldn't say I 'love' flying...but it doesn't bother me. My DDs on the other hand, would fly to the mall or school if they could!! They just love flying!

Ok so I am really interested in the auto train thing now. I am going to see if it's possible from here but I bet it will take FOREVER to get there! :lmao:
