The Kids Surprise Trip and Our Winter Weather Escape! ~With LOTS of pictures~

Hello!

to my Trip Report!

My family and I got back from 7 nights and 8 wonderful days at Walt Disney World on January 27th. This was our 4th WDW trip. And this trip was a complete surprise for our kids! We started planning last summer and decided that since we were going shortly after Christmas that we would just make it their Christmas gift from us and a surprise!

The kids were totally surprised and very excited!! A few pictures of the surprise~

DS9 is our very active and energetic little boy. He wouldn't like me calling him a little boy though. He is growing up too fast! He is very smart and funny and a great soccer player. He is also very dramatic and he is the best big brother in the world. DS9 loves all things Disney and Star Wars!

DS7 is our baby! Our sweet cuddly baby. He is very smart too and is very good at all sports. He is finally getting used to all day first grade, but preferred half day kindergarten much better! He loves to talk and especially loves to talk about Disney. Also a huge Star Wars fan. And Loves Minnie Mouse and wants to "marry her" when he grows up!

Monday Jan 26th ~ Epcot, Boulangerie Patisserie, LeCellier, CBR
Tuesday Jan 27th ~ Departure

This was our first time going to WDW in the winter and it sure was a lot different than our other trips!

To those of you that read my CBR and my Dining Report some of this might be repetitive, but I promise I have lots of new adventures to tell about and tons of new pictures!!

Tuesday Jan 20th ~
We had a 9:20am flight out of Pittsburgh. We were planning to leave here around 6:30 to get to the off-site parking lot at 7:30 and to the airport by 7:45. Then with some snow I started to worry a bit and decided that maybe we should head out a little earlier just to be safe! So we were up at 5:00 and left at 6:00. We had no weather or traffic delays and we were at the airport with plenty of time to spare. So we waited and waited.

While we were waiting a woman sitting right across from me says - oh hi Shelly! It was a girl from our January countdown thread ~Snowbird Katiebugsmom. Always fun to meet a DISer! We chatted a little. Eventually it was time to board the plane!! We flew with SW and were in boarding group A, so we had no problems sitting together. DH and DS7 sat in front of DS9 and I. And unfortunately a woman and her 2 little girls sat behind DS9 and I and she let the girls kick the back of our seats pretty much the whole way to Florida.

Our plane had to be de-iced. That was something new that we had never seen before. It took about 10 minutes and then we were off! The flight was pretty uneventful (except for the kicking!) and we were in Orlando in no time.

The ME line was long but moved pretty fast and we were headed over to get on the bus. We waited maybe 5 minutes and were let on the bus and then waited about 5 minutes more and we were on our way to CBR!

Our ME driver slowed down so we could takes pics!

This was our quickest ME experience to date. One hour from the time we landed to the time we were at check-in at CBR. The ME bus was going to one other resort after CBR, maybe BC - not sure.

Great start! Sorry about the kicking! I'm always so concerned about my kids kicking - I would never let them do it the whole way. (Or I'd at least try my hardest!)

Yeah, I think that is what made me so mad (well besides the fact that it was very annoying) because we always try so hard to make sure our kids aren't being too loud or doing anything to annoy others everywhere we go, and this woman was totally oblivious!

Oh well it wasn't that bad, I was on my way to DISNEY!!!

Tuesday Jan 20th continued. . .

We arrived at CBR around 12:45 or so. I waited in the check-in line about 10 minutes. Check-in went quickly and we were honored our request of either Aruba or Jamaica (we got Aruba) but got the first floor instead of the second floor like we wanted. We were happy to have a newly remodeled Nemo room in Aruba 51.

DS7 and I unpacked while DS9 and DH went over to OPR to get some lunch for them and some snacks for us.

It was a whopping 55 degrees out. We were just going to hang out in the room until our 5:30 ADR at Chef Mickey's but the kids wanted to head out early and go to MK and do a few rides before dinner. So we bundled up and headed out!
