Participants: Jimmie(me)-42 year old middle school band director, Rhonda(DW)-41 year old church financial secretary, Alisa(DD#1)-19 year old sophomore at Univ. of Texas at Austin, Amy(DD#2)-16 year old HS junior.

Day 2(Epcot)- Bought 6 day hopper plus for everyone at the Swan. Used my Disney Club discount(I almost forgot!!!). We walked to Epcot around by Y&B. After they opened the gate we went in World Traders shop while waiting for the rope drop. Walked quickly(ran) to Test Track-got a fastpass as the line was already about 15 minutes. Did Figment(enjoyable), Ellen, HISTA, back to TT, Body Wars. TT shut down briefly for the rain, but we still got to ride(great attraction). Did lunch at San Angel in Mexico. Good as usual. I really like this restaurant as well as the entire Mexican pavillion. Very festive/great atmosphere. After lunch did El Rio de Tiempo, wandered through a few countries. We saw Belle, Beast, & Snow White. Got some great pix!

Went to catch the boat back to Swan for afternoon rest/swim. The CM at the boat launch was telling other guests about different things going on at WDW. He asked us if we knew what E-Ride nights were. I told him & then he asked me what the dates were & the cost & I told him. He asked how I knew so much & I told him I read guidebooks & frequented some unofficial Disney websites. I think he was impressed!?!

I was lucky enough to get an Illuminations Cruise while planning this trip & in addition to my family, had 8 other participants(that I met on these boards) in our boat that evening. This turned out to be the best part of our trip! We all had a blast! We had Capt. Bob-he was hilarious! We left Y&B marina about 8:30 pm. Capt. Bob took us to MGM & then back to the Boardwalk area & on to Epcot. All the while, he entertained us with WDW history & alot of humor. All the boats parked underneath the bridge between France & UK(?). It was a great view.

After the cruise, we went to the Dolphin Soda Fountain for some Ice Cream-a great ending for a great day!

Day3(MK)- Arrived at MK before opening. One of the CMs had a birthday so we all sang to them. This is the type of thing that makes Disney special. At rope drop, we ran to Space Mtn. only to find they had delayed it's opening for some reason. We got a fastpass and then did Buzz(really cool), Splash Mtn., Pooh, Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, back to Space Mt., Pirates, Hall of Presidents(a nice change with GWB in it now), COP(please don't take this away, Mr. Eisner!), Small World, & Snow White. In there somewhere we did lunch at Aunt Polly's. We had been wanting to eat here for a while. I'm so glad we did! We enjoyed good sandwiches, chips & a drink. AP's is secluded & peaceful, but watch out for the birds!!!

Had a PS for Dinner at Le Cellier in Epcot, so we shopped a little on Main Street & then hopped on the monorail just in time to beat the afternoon parade crowd at the MK.

Le Cellier turned out to be our best meal all week. We all had cheddar cheese soup with the bread provided as an appetizer. One word: delicious!!! I reminded my family this was the kind of information I got from this website. Our waitress was surprised when I told her I had heard of the pretzel bread at Le Cellier on the internet. She said to be sure & tell everyone how good it was. We all had a steak & agreed it was really good-tender & flavorful. The service was also excellent.

We walked back to the Swan to freshen up & then went back to MK for the evening activities. About 7:30 pm, we parked ourselves at the corner of the hub & the street to Frontierland. Our kids went off to ride Buzz again & DW & I held the fort for the parade. We people watched(& cloud watched). Sure enough, about 8:30 the rain started. Spectro was delayed about 10 minutes. We enjoyed the parade, Tink, & fireworks I got some good pics with my new digital camera!

About a 20 minute wait for a bus & we crashed back at the Swan. A long but good day.

Wow a busy day for all - I too love Le Cellier - the soup and breadsticks - now I am hungry - thanks for posting!

Sounds like a great couple of days. Thanks for posting. :)

Hi Jimmie,

Thanks again for sharing your Illuminations cruise with my son and me. We did have a lot of fun, didn't we?! It was a great group of DIS people. Can you believe all that rain we got?! I'm glad we had a good night for the cruise. We sure got our money's worth out of our ºoº ponchos all week!

I was just talking to my husband about you tonight. I saw in the paper that your town was having flooding problems. I hope you and your family are all ok.

Thanks for writing the trip report...it's like I'm still there!

Kathy
