The Incredibles' Disney Magic Cruise 11/4/06 [THE END, FINALLY!! posted 7/2]

I loved this installment Linda. Can you please share what time you guys went to Topsiders that you missed the crowds before going to CC? Planning for May!!:woohoo:
Thanks!

The picture of the Flying Dutchman was taken at 8:40 am and we left shortly after that and saw the line. We probably got up there a little after 8:00. Hope that helps. :thumbsup2

Just want to say how much I enjoyed your trip report. You have such a great sense of humour. And you had me giggling along with you Shutters and chocolate fountain blog.

Thanks for sharing . Lots of fun :)

Linda-
I've been kinda busy and I had no idea your report was still going!! Good job hanging in there!!!

Linda,

I'm loving your trip report. Even though we didn't get a chance to hang out very much, it seems like we were in the same areas around the same time.

Again I bring up the possibility of using a pirate picture for the Christmas card.

Too funny - we used a pirate picture of Alison and Andrea for our xmas cards. It came out great - but I wish I had thought of the very funny Yo Ho Ho Ho.

Chuck tells me about their snorkeling adventure. It took Steph a few minutes to get the hang of breathing but eventually she got it. They swam all the way over to the snorkeling area and saw a lot of fish. They followed the guy’s directions and found the Mickey statue without any trouble. Then, a fellow snorkeler asked Chuck if he would go underwater and take a picture of him with the Mickey statue. Chuck agreed and took the camera from him. Then the guy took off his blow up vest and immediately got yelled at by the lifeguard. Snorkel guy ignored the lifeguard and dove down. Chuck hesitated for a second and then went underwater to quickly take the picture. I wonder if it came out.

Um, the picture came out great. Yes, that was my bonehead husband who got screamed at by the lifeguards. LOL! Like I said earlier - we seemed to be at the same places at the same time but didn't always run into each other.

Alison had snorkle gear too, but, like Kevin, wasn't too happy swimming with the fishes. She went out with my husband but went into a panic when she saw a grouper sized fish, so my husband brought her out of the water. Intead, she hung out in the kids club and was very happy to go on scavenger hunts across the island with them.

The soft-serve cookie dough ice cream is really good. I have to have a cone even though I’m thoroughly stuffed from lunch.

Mmmmm, soft serve cookie dough ice cream. Next cruise I'm skipping lunch and just eating this!

Speaking of next cruise - have you talked Chuck into another one? We booked on the ship and are taking one during spring break 2008. I saw a few from our cruise were doing the t-giving 2008 cruise. I'd love to do that, but it was too much of a thrash taking Alison out of school. She gave us a hard time doing her assigned homework during the cruise and then her grades dropped after we got back - I think she developed a cruise-a-tude! Anyway, we decided we'd have to stick to school breaks from now on, so we booked spring break.

I can't believe that was your husband! That's just too weird. Well, I'm glad the picture came out. Chuck is not the best photographer...but maybe that's on dry land!

Another cruise for us? I guess I can answer that question once I finish the trip report. But our next big vacation is spring break 2008. Are we living parallel lives? Our break is April 21st to 25th. We can only go away in April when spring break is after tax season. When is your spring break?

Cruise-a-tude? I like that!! We seemed to adjust back to school OK but my kids did a fair amount of work during the week.

I just love your trip report. You are hysterical. I was telling my DH about some of your adventures.

keep it coming, we are still following you!

I told my husband that Chuck took the picture and he just laughed. Then he remembered seeing a young girl with the person who took the picture and I told him that was your daughter - one of the girls who Alison emailed with before the cruise.

Fairfax County's spring break is 3/17/2008 - 3/23/2008, so I guess we'll miss you. I've posted on the meet for our cruise, but there isn't any traffic there at all. I think all the prolific posters are going on a repositioning cruise and/or the t-giving double dip!

Alison did a lot of work during the week, but it was like pulling teeth! She didn't want to do her work because she saw her sister playing while she had to do school work. She a real 50/50 kind of girl - gets it from her father! So, cruising during spring or summer breaks is the only answer for us.

Looking forward to the end of your trip report!

Nancy

Subscribing because one of the people on my meet thread suggested this. Can't wait to have the time to read it!!

Great trip report!

I didn't know we needed snorkeling vests. My kids and I were yelled at by the CC lifeguard when we ventured out without vests. LOL

So embarassing!

We're so used to snorkeling without vests.

What a great report. Your notes must be fantastic for you to keep writing your installments! :thumbsup2 Love reports from real families with real melt downs. Always nice to know our family is not alone with vacation stress!:rotfl2:
Keep up the great writing.:yay:

I have a question....I bought my DGD a sorta, kinda wet suit, although not made of that fabric, it is just the looks. It has short sleeves and shorts bottom, but what I am trying to get at is, it has floating type material inside that goes around the stomach/side/back. I bought it purposely for her to snorkel. Do you think that would be okay?
I just re-read this, I hope some one understands!:rotfl2:

The way I understand the rule, if you have a snorkel mask on, you need a vest on. You can go out in the bay area with speedo goggles and see the fish without a vest. But once you have a mask on, the vest must be on (even in the beach area).

See, that's the thing...I have no notes past Tuesday. It's all memory, pictures, and navigators helping at this point! And yes, vacation stress is a specialty of ours. Real family with real meltdowns...that would be us!!

This report is the greatest! I got off the Wonder on Thursday (today is Sunday), and was just toolin' around on the boards when I found your TR. Today I have sat in my husband's big, comfy, leather chair for the better part of five hours reading your adventures. I have to say that I did get up to eat and to continue my 5000 loads of laundry!:laundy: Oh, and to shoo away a wasp that was attracted to my DD10's bike.

I am hooked on this thread. I can't wait for the rest! Now, I have to go find something productive to do with the rest of my day...

Thanks Linda, So you think it is more the vest to see rather than the floating device?
k

I came across this TR and love it! Can't wait to see how it ends . . .

Quick question - we were thinking about renting a car too, how do you get back to the airport? Does Disney offer a 1-way transfer or did you take some other means?

We arranged for a 10 passenger van (Happy Limo) to take us from the port to the airport but it didn't turn out exactly as planned (in a good way...I recommend using them). Sheesh, I need to put trip writing on my calendar and lock myself in a room!!
