I had brought this up previously and don't think I was able to communicate myself very well, so I will try it again. I'm not trying to be annoying or a pain, just pointing out something that for me is an inconvenience.
I think that I understand the use of the important tag for the boards. I also like the idea that information which is important for all to know, gets tagged and is always on the top of page 1. What is an issue for me is that these notices are always on page 1 day after day each and everytime that I log on even if I have read them already.
The irony is that I don't even look at them anymore because I assume that they are the same old messages and I scroll down as quickly as I can until I see a post without the important tag. So, I guess the reverse has happened. What is important will be missed by me. In fact that has happened a few times.
Also, on the Theme Park and Strategies board there are 14 important messages. The post on how to keep the board on subject indicates that one reason for moving posts (which I applaud) is that with so many messages new posts get moved to page 2 quickly. With 14 important messages they move even more quickly.
Having explained myself, I hope in a positive way, I was wondering if there is something that I am doing wrong. Is there any way to avoid seeing posts with the important tag that I have already read.
Thanks!
