The I'm Driving My Family Nuts so I'll Share w/ People Like Me Pre-Trip Report...

WOW!! I wish my parents were as Disney-invested as you are :rotfl: Although, I'm pushing my mom back on the Disney-side now that it's a good excuse for her to come see me. Also, when I was a kid, character meals were dreadful because I was TERRIFIED of the characters :scared1: and I mean terrified :lmao: So Disney when I was a kid was more of a chore than an experience. But now, I love the characters and I think she see's this as a time to get back the Disney experience most parents get with their young children :rotfl2: :goodvibes

You're trips going to be amazing!!! And you're going to be the day we leave :)

Got my packet yesterday! :banana::banana::banana:

16 DAYS!!! :scared1::yay:

I've been playing around on RideMax...we'll be using it more as a guideline (along w/ what I've learned on here) than an itinerary...nice to have an idea of where to start and how much extra time there will be for shows/shopping etc...

So far, we've managed to work out a pretty smooth looking schedule...I did bump up the plans for BBB and Lunch w/ the princesses by a day; so the next day we can do CC (yay! :woohoo: it will be open), Adventureland, Frontierland and Tomorrowland the next...we'll start Thursday w/ MM on Nemo/Tomorrowland and go from there...I bumped everything just bc they added Billy and the Hillbillies to the schedule and I really want to see it :laughing:...my family doesn't know thats why, and would probably :rolleyes: if they found out, but I keep reading about it on here and now I have to go :rolleyes1

Don't have any plans for Saturday yet...other than MM in FL, and then using the rest of the day to repeat what we want and/or do things we missed before we go....

The 6yo princess: has been jumping out of bed every morning to add another mickey head to the calendar...if only I could find a way to keep that enthusiasm for the mornings after the trip ;)

In just a couple of weeks we will be in Dinsey :banana:

So exciting!! I think that when you get the package everything gets more real. When we have done the package going through the package and looking at everything is so exciting and fun.

LOL...we spent the afternoon reviewing everything in the packet and then talking about the trip and then we watched the planning video...the princess: has been singing the Mousketeers song all day...m-i-c-k-e-y....her kindy teacher said she even had some of the other kids singing and marching at recess today :rotfl:

Well, we know who the leader of that band is.:goodvibes That is so cool.

Pulled out the luggage on Friday...the princess: stuffed hers full of dolls and her pillow pet, pulled on a swim suit and sunglasses and proceeded to take a vacation to Disneyland :cool1: in the living room :lmao: I finally convinced her I needed her bag to pack up her clothes today...I'm trying a method I saw on here where you bag up each outfit so its easy to just pull one out in the morning and have her put it on and have a spare ready to go if you need it at the park :thumbsup2...I'm 75% done w/ her stuff as I discovered I need some more leggings and another sweater for her...this is why I start packing early, bc no matter how well prepared I think I am, there is always something...Went to dinner last night w/ mom :hippie: and sisters :hug:; all we could talk about was the trip and how excited we all are :yay:

Take out the dolls but let her take the pillow pet! Outside the suitcase of course!
Here's our son with his on out DL trip, you never know when they will come in handy!

Oh, there is no way the pillow pet will get left behind...unless I want to backtrack several hours after she realizes its not in the car :headache: It will travel up front with her, and after seeing that pic, it may ride in the stroller at the park :thumbsup2

Spotz had lots of adventures on that trip but our favorite apart from the bus stop nap, was our housekeeping staff at our hotel after making colton's bed always put Spotz in different positions...reading a book napping at the laptop etc so it seemed he was having his own adventures at the hotel while we were gone.

Just subscribed...you are so creative everything looks good, she is really going to enjoy the surprises maybe I will do something like this for my DS6 when we go again in October.

I only wish your pics were a little bigger so I could see the detail in things like your countdown calendar...I wish our next trip was as close as yours but our last one ended just over a month ago and I am still working on that trip report should probably finish one before leaving for another right?

I'm not all that creative...a lot of what I did was just borrowing ideas from the disigns threads and trying to come up w/ a few simpler versions that were more tailored to our trip :idea: ...also, most of the travel stuff was from Dolly's thread and I just printed it off and had it laminated :surfweb: :rolleyes1...thought I would post some slightly larger pics (just don't want to bog down the thread w/ jumbo pics or anything, lol) that might give you a better look, plus I found a couple of pics of the inside of the journal that were hiding in the folder from the princess: last class party...not sure how they wound up there :confused3

Each day of the trip has 2 pages of prompts and a blank page, plus there is a blank page for drawing pics...I have no expectations that she will completely fill these out, but they are a good place for me to jot notes about what happened and for her to reflect on her day...each page is themed with clipart according to where we will be on that day...although I just realized that we will probably need to skip around a bit since I bumped up some of our ressies and it changed some of the plans :rotfl2:

At the bottom right corner of the countdown is a little pocket of mickey heads that we are gluing on each day to mark the countdown (one per star)...I will post a pic of it later showing it w/ some mickey heads so you can get a better idea...

Have heard that, but not sure how to get it done...also heard that I could have a first visit pin waiting for the 6yo princess:, but again, still learning the ropes....:confused3

Call ahead and ask them, and they will actually deliver the picture and the pin to your room or they can even have it waiting in your room for you when you arrive. For years, we spent my daughter's birthday at the onsite hotels. It was fun to have the autographed photo delivered--the cast member had a story to go with it when it was delivered. It is kind of neat to have the narrative to go along with it....Anyway, you can also have balloons waiting in the room when you arrive.

You can also arrange to have a character call to the room--That's a fun one for kids :0) Ok...it is fun for big people too!

I love the title of your PTR! That is so me! Nobody around me understands my Disney Obsession. Unfortunately my hubby and Mother-in-law are the worst. I haven't even discussed with my hubby that I am planning to go to DLR in June for my birthday ha-ha...

I love all the surprises you are planning for your daughter. You have certainly put a lot of thought into this trip!

I'm wondering what the little cards are in one of your pictures?

Enjoy your trip! It sounds like it should be a good time!

They were sooo done hearing about Disneyland :rotfl2:...now that we are less than a week from driving down :banana:, they are all :yay: (but they still don't get the obsession :love: ;))

Which little cards? I made wishing penny cards that you can see in the picture w/ the pressed penny tubes/journal/stroller tag...Or the invitations to character meals? (they are in the picture w/ the envelopes)

I'm also curious as to how your stay at PPH concierge goes. I am considering it for my Birthday trip in June.

You are going to have a blast on this trip!!!

In September I did a trip to DLR with my mom, my two sisters and my DD. It was so much fun. I hope that your trip is as magical as ours was! We all got Minnie Ears to wear every day and it was a sight to see. You could spot us from a mile away! :rotfl:

Have lots of fun and post pictures when you can! You're going to Disneyland!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!:banana::banana::banana:
