Hi,
Well I have finally got around to starting my TR. I'm sorry I have not started it sooner as I have had the dreaded flu, I'm feeling a bit better better but I have also got the task of organizing my dd 5th birthday party who is a huge diva and is demanding a Rapunzel party and has invited 30 friends (she has a better social life than me
) luckily my dh is a very good chef and a pastry chef and makes wedding, birthday cakes etc so i'm leaving that task to him.
Anyway back to TR we went 17th-21st October
DAY 1
I would say mum and I woke up feeling a little under the weather but we did not actually sleep, I can't believe I was feeling poorly... "no not today" so i doesed myself up and tried to ignore it.
We left home really early as dad was taking myself, mum, sis and nephew to Ebsfleet station, he insists on leaving way before we need to so 3.15am we were on our way from Poole in Dorset to the station we only got 5 mins down the road and the silly woman on the satnav was not giving directions so we had to pull in and start the satnav again.... Maybe it was a good idea we left early. before long we were back on the roads again which was pretty uneventful after a quick stop at fleet services we were at at Ebsfleet station at 6.20 am (over 2 hours before we can check in) so we said bye to dad and sent him on his way while we skipped into the station like school kids (ok maybe that was just me, my nephew was still half asleep
) as we had been from this station before we knew what to do, so we headed over to the little cafe there who we were greeted by the most happiest lady in the world.... NOT. She was so misserable she made my milk curdle in my very weak tea she made me. I know it was 6.30am and she is not going to the happiest place on earth but a smile would have been nice. (perhaps it was just me being the bouncy happy girl who is off to Disneyland)
heres me sat in the cafe
the 2 hour wait actually went quite quick and before i knew it I was setting off the security alarms at check in and being frisked by security I forgot that the belt I wore sets off the alarms... note to felf do not wear that belt when travelling.
After wondering the very small WHSmiths and arming myself with some celebrety gossip magazines for the journey we were being called to go down to the platform to wait for the train. A little warning for those travelling from Ebsfleet and i guess it's the same from Ashford you get 5 minutes to get to your numbered section on the platform and when the train arrives you get 2 minutes to get yourself and the luggage on, the doors are on automatic timer (so im told) Luckily we were all on ok and nothing was left behind. We found our seats and again somebody was sat in mine (everytime I have to ask somebody to move as they are in my seat) by now I was so tired. The lady sat next to was very excited and asked me if it was my first time too, when i went on to say no and how many times I had been she was amazed, it was so funny she kept asking me questions what to do here and what to do there it was nice as we were talking about my favorite subject, she called me her disney tour guide, actually the cm on the train gave her the wrong coloured luggage labels for the Cheyenne he gave her pink I said to her ooo they have changed the colour as the Cheyenne has always been yellow, she luckily trusted me and checked with him he quickly appologised and changed colour labels. I hope he had not made that mistake too many times as luggage would be sent all over.
We soon arrived at Disney and as we stepped off the train i could here just like we dreamed it booming out of the speakers, the smile just beamed accross my face and without realizing I was singing along too. I took my nephew up in the lift while mum and sis took luggage to disney express as sis has a fear of lifts (funny enough we can't get her to try tot
)
We headed off to Annettes for something to eat, not much of a wait and we were seating i didn't even need a menu i knew what I was having
I had the rock n roll burger, mum had the onion burger and sis shared a rockabilly burger with nephew as he was not hungry as he had munched all the way on the train. We all went for one of their amazing milkshakes ( for some reason i completely forgot to take pics of the food... sorry but i can asure you it was all yummy)
below is me playing with the table duke box.... yes i am a child who sees buttons and has to press them
by now it was 3.15 and we were heading over to the DLH to check in... I have been sooooo excited about this, this has been my dream to stay here and it's finally happening.
I'm going to have to stop there and complete day 1 tomorrow as i'm feeling a little blah now from this flu bug and i don't want to miss anything out for you guys. lots of pictures to come and how amazing th dlh is....
