The I Love BWV (yes, Hallways and Clown Pool too!) Thread

Did you get this figured out? I see every room available at BWV on the night of Sept 7.

And just like that, there was availability this morning to shift it. That was bizarre last night. Relatively new to DVC and the booking process, but wasn't expecting to see that. All good now (for us anyway).

In my case, I had requested 10 specific Boardwalk View 1-bedroom villas that had the fully enclosed and private balconies. Out of 30 total 1-bedrooms, my chances were about 1/3. 3 of the other times were garden/pool view, so out of a possible 188 room matches, the odds were much lower to get one of my specific rooms. I don't specify dedicated vs connecting.

I think the two times I didn't get a specific room request was just down to odds/availability - when I checked in, those room numbers were already booked. But I was able to get 2nd general area requests both times - croquet lawn area which I prefer over the pools. So request-wise, I'd say close to 100% lately, but regarding the specific room number requests, still pretty good.

I had room 2039 this time - my 4th time staying in that room (I have gotten 2011 5 times). The thing I like about those rooms is probably what some others dislike - the huge covered and enclosed balcony - because it doesn't have a rail-type balcony, you don't see the Boardwalk if you're sitting in a chair - to see the full view you have to be standing at the end of the balcony (or do what I do - bring one of the kitchen bar stools out on the balcony and sit right along the rail with a drink on the nice, side ledge - it's like sitting at a bar overlooking the lake - great for people-watching, fireworks, etc. The balcony is 3x larger than any of the regular open balconies, and you can sit out there in pouring rain or lightning.

Plus, 2039 is only about 1/2 way down the hall, so it's nice not being as far from the lobby area. The ice machine was just 2 rooms away which was perfect - and being on the 2nd floor meant no elevators needed walking from the lobby area. And there's a nice staircase that few people seem to know about that's right in the 'bend' of the hall where there's the little cut-out from the floors above - that stairs takes you down to the boardwalk level right between the gallery and general store - so you don't have to go all the way to the lobby or elevators when leaving, especially if you're planning on hitting the Boardwalk, walking to Epcot, or grabbing the boats.

I love that staircase! Wish you could also come back inside using it.

Received my points yesterday for our first contract! So excited to book our stay next year. Was I crazy for buying a 2042 resort? Yes, but we just can't get over our love for the area and already spend so much time there.
Welcome home! We recently did the same. To hell with what’s the best value, we’re happy with our choice. Looking forward to next June for my 40th 🥳

For our 2nd contract (1st was resale BWV), we bought at Disneyland Hotel. Husband won’t stay offsite after bad experiences, and we love the hotel. We will probably only break even, but I love having to book a Disneyland trip because we need to use points😉 It’s about what you want. Some people are looking for a value; others are looking for something else❤️

We are staying in a pool/garden view studio for our upcoming trip. First time renter and I have looked at maps for studio locations.

I am considering making a room request for a “dedicated studio; no connecting door please”.

Is adding “floor 2 or 3 and near lobby” too much to ask since the dedicated request is the priority?

I do realize it’s just a request.

Thanks in advance!

Village Green view rooms are all close to the elevator, are all dedicated studios, and have a partial Boardwalk view. Is there a reason you prefer floor 2 or 3?

The more requests that you add, the harder it is for the room assigner to fill. I never make more than 2 requests
One is usually traveling with, so that we are close by family and the other is upper floor.

If a dedicated studio is your highest priority then I would ask for only that. No need to add no connecting door because that's redundant. If you would be okay with a lockoff then add a 2nd choice. Floors 2 or 3, near lobby is actually a 2nd and 3rd request. BWV hallways are long and there are a lot of pool/garden rooms. But there are only a handful of dedicated studios on the 2nd or 3rd floor and close to the lobby (3rd floor would be close to elevator, the lobby is on the 2nd floor). If the room assigner can't fulfill all of those requests, you may end up with a ground floor lockoff p/g room but close to the elevator because the assigner doesn't know what matters the most to you.

So excited to say that I now own at Boardwalk! I have had BLT since 2018 and VGF since 2022 and never thought I would own a 2042 resort. But last minute trip last year put me a night at Beach Club and I remember looking at Boardwalk and thinking "who cares if really if it is 2042? I could stay there for every year until then!" So after being able to grab a couple nights this last year and enjoying all of it I just decided to do it. Walking to HS and EP is so huge and I just love everything about the vibe. So small contract and for now will have to control myself to not buy more but even my girls who don't care where they stay LOVE Boardwalk. So we are all happy.

Thanks for all the help/news here on this thread to the regulars. I have been following but not posting.
