The I Love BWV (yes, Hallways and Clown Pool too!) Thread

It's different for everyone. I'll be honest and say I love the sound of the boat horns. If they were running in the middle of the night I might get annoyed, but they run mostly day and evening when I'm awake and I find it very atmospheric and soothing..
I have owned at BWV for 25 years. For 5 of them I was unable to travel because I was caring for my husband. One of the things I most missed was the sound of those Friendship Boat horns. And when I was finally able to return to BWV, the sound of those horns brought tears of joy to my eyes. That being said, now that you know that the horns are annoying to you, isn't it grand that DVC has so many other options!
It really is part of the charm/vibe. 8-)

I hope they do not move into the Tea Room.... The Bippidi Boppidi Boutique makes more sense to me on the second floor, which has remained closed...

I'd prefer to see the Tea Room reopen with some sort of tea service or something at least a couple of times a day... Plus with the bar, I think they are going to need a little more seating downstairs...

Disney has a while before 2042... I hope the boardwalk figures out what they need to do... it really has become a shell of itself... Maybe Disney doesn't view that area as important anymore, but with all the conventions you'd think they'd want it filled instead of empty until 2042...

That said, the tenant is leaving a relatively small space, and they offered something that could at best be described as a niche offering...

I think something big is planned for BW , some onsite boat captan rumors about ADH closing
people joke about these things but a year ago we were on board the disney magic and our bartender mentioned that the magic was headed to Alaska....

I was skeptical, and several people on this board made fun of the notion that the magic would be going to Alaska... but he was right!!!

I’m confused, can you elaborate?

Yes ADH is Atlantic Dance Hall.

They moved the DVC Halloween event there to the convention center so it is certainly possible that something is in the works.

Maybe. But, they've previously scheduled the resort meetings for the Convention center also. Probably just using a building that has to be kept up anyway rather than bringing in a crew to clean the dance hall. Plus it's right at the bus stop.

Funny of all the things that have closed or changed on the Boardwalk since it opened, the one I always wished was changed into something else was Atlantic Dance Hall. It's so ripe to be a really cool restaurant with all that space, with upstairs and balcony dining, maybe some bar action. Now with Cake Bake, they have their upscale fancy restaurant, so it would be great to have a really great modern American type restaurant with a great bar and maybe even music, like some of the stuff that's over at Disney Springs...lunch time could have the burgers and sandwiches so sorely missing from Boardwalk, and evenings can be more along the lines of House of Blues, City Works, Summer House, Edison, etc - wide menu covering all kinds of tastes, maybe some live entertainment/singers, etc...maybe expand the balcony seating over the water outside - that could be a killer spot and draw lots of traffic back to Boardwalk.

Just a dream I'm sure - but I'll keep hoping.

I absolutely agree, and I could guarantee that every time I stayed at boardwalk I would be eating there at least once.

Just finished my first stay - loved the resort and its vibe. Didn't like that there isn't a real food court but did fine w/ what was available.
I pretty much didn't like having to go outside to refill my mug - especially if it's pouring.

Loved that the pool was actually cold! We had fun playing pool games w/ the CMs.
Pizza on the boardwalk was pretty good - great for quick bite.
We put in a request for a room near the elevator and were put in timbuktu. It was SO far.

Do you remember when the Boardwalk was promoted as a destination for evening dining and entertainment? Did you ever stay there as a guest, come back from the parks in your rental car around 7 PM and circle the lot, trying to find a place to park, then see the lot empty out after Illuminations was over?

Unfortunately, I think the BW parking lot is too small to accommodate "lots of traffic" especially with Epcot just a stroll away, unless they implement a parking charge that's a lot higher than normal Epcot/DHS parking and have the BW restaurants comp something like 3 hours (and people staying at BW park free, of course).

I'd love to see a good QS restaurant and/or a casual dining place for burgers and salads, etc., like other Disney Deluxe resorts have. But I don't want something that's going to encourage people to park there for free in the morning, visit Epcot and DHS, and stay late to enjoy drinks and dancing on the BW.

Would love a Geyser Point style place!!
