The I Love BWV (yes, Hallways and Clown Pool too!) Thread

Ok all you Boardwalk fans. I came across a room that looks to have a doorbell on the Fith Floor, far end Room 5008.
Any ideas as to what the button is?

Hello, we recently purchased a DVC resale contract at the Boardwalk. Wish we would've done it before our first stay there, but alas... here we are. While we tried a few other resorts, over time we just really liked the Boardwalk and kept comparing the other resorts to it. It is a small, 50 point contract, and we are hoping to go every other year for anywhere from 4-7 days. It was all we could really afford/justify spending at this time.

Anyway, our goal is to take our son on his first visit in September 2026. Hoping to stay in a Studio for a week. How likely are we to find a studio at the 11-month window for this time frame? We wouldn't care from a view standpoint (resort vs preferred), just hoping for a studio and not a 1 bedroom. Mid-September is a lull in my work schedule and works really well for me to take a week off.

Looking at the availability chart, have we created a situation that isn't going to work out well for us? (I probably should've looked at these first, instead of after the fact...) It looks like there is limited availability for the studios at the 11 month window, especially the standard view and boardwalk view, with the garden/preferred room having marginally more availability.

It is also a little weird that on the studios, in particular the Garden/Pool view mostly, there is limited availability at 11months, and then at 10 and 9 months there it shows a little more. It goes from red, to orange or even yellow.

Sorry, I am now anxious that we made a purchase and I am not going to be able to use these points...

Thanks in advance for any reassurance, or slaps of reality you might have to offer.

For a September stay, especially early September, you shouldn't have much trouble at 11 months, especially if you're okay with Preferred (Pool/Garden) view and not set on Resort view or BW view. There are a lot more P/G view studios than the other two views, but that doesn't mean you won't get lucky and get Resort (cheaper) or BW (gorgeous) view!

That is weird. I wonder whether the availability charts are still influenced by the BWV refurb issues in 2023, where parts of the resort (BW view wing) were refurbed, reopened and then closed again for more work to be done. It really messed things up, so depending on how far back the availability charts are looking to create the average, it might have some influence.

And if you do get P/G view, you can request View of Village Green. Those villas look out onto the lawn between BWV and BWI and have a partial BW view.

We are right at 10 days out from a 2br pool/garden room.

Thinking about if I need to put in a room request, but have no idea what to request having never stayed here.

Only preference I would have would to not be ground floor, but are there any good suggestions for what to request beyond that?

Edit - duh should have read last post, that sounds like a good one to request view of village green.

Unfortunately, there aren’t any 2BR Village Green views - just dedicated studios and 1br.

For P/G view, if you want quiet or to be just a short walk from DHS, request View of Quiet Pool. The View of Luna Park Pool can be noisy, especially in the afternoon when CMs are leading activities!

FYI, there are no lockoffs on the Village Greens.

I just reserved a 1 bedroom for my sister, my mom and me. It is a 24 hour trip to celebrate my sister's 21st birthday. (She is 30 years younger than me). My Mom is in her 80's so mobility is a little bit of an issue along with the July heat. We are definitely going to recommend she rent a scooter. But she wants to come so I am not going to say no.
The category I reserved is the pool/garden view but I did waitlist the Boardwalk view. Is there a request I can put in for the p/g view that is best as far as proximity towards walking to Epcot or boat transportation?

As mentioned just a few posts above, look at touringplans.com

I think the best you could do would be to request “near elevator” because you’ll go up and down to walkway level.

And I might consider keeping the P/G view. Most of the 1BR BW view are far, far down the hallway because the GVs come first. See diagram here: https://www.disboards.com/media/bwv-boardwalk-view.62896/.

There are more P/G view 1BR near the elevators. See here https://www.disboards.com/media/bwv-courtyard-preferred-view.62897/ (View of Village Green), here https://www.disboards.com/media/luna-park-pv.62908/ and here https://www.disboards.com/media/luna-park-2-pv.62907/ (both View of Luna Park).

I can second this. We are at BWV now. Our first BW view. Room 5009. it is at the far end of the BW in the Crest of The Wave building. Don't mind the walk but it is far. This end of the BW is dead since everything has closed down. Which makes it quieter than the old days. We can see the Epcot fireworks from our room, so that is cool. I don't think we will do a BW view again, but I am glad we did. Before this we always stayed in a 1BR Pool view. Point wise much better. And it is not so far to amenities.

Welcome Home and Enjoy your stay.

It’s interesting to read that the room is quiet, you have an EPCOT firework view, and that you won’t do it again in the same sentence.

You also mentioned that the pool view is better point wise, aren’t they the same amount of points?

The DVC boardwalk side is definitely a dead zone with Jellyrolls gone.
