Sure they can! There are plenty of commercial ventless fryers available for restaurants and service spots that don't have vents...they use oil and are not air fryers - the built in vent filters capture the oil-laden grill exhaust in a self-contained unit. Fries, chicken fingers, onion rings, etc all possible.

A friend of mine has a restaurant on the first floor of a mixed-use shopping/residential building, and has these fryers on site. He has pizza ovens, griddle tops, and the ventless fryers, as well as a few air fryers. His space has no vents and residential space above - quite similar to Big River's space.

That does a WDW resort level type of volume?

Definitely not - but the ventless fryers take up about the same space as vented fryers, and Disney would just put in larger ones or have more fryer stations to handle volume, same as they would for traditional commercial oil fryers with vents. They make ventless fryers with up to 6 gallon, dual basket capacity.

Had the pleasure of a one night (first timer at BWV) studio stay (after 3 nights at BLT). Solo short trip to meet up with son in law & his friends (with two park days included) company business trip. Flying back to California this AM.

‘Resort’ 3rd floor (#3099). Room ready notice arrived at 2pm. It is one of the dedicated studios. (Sure puts a blank corner space without the connecting door). I get they want each room decor the same but a recliner could fit there!

Very nice visuals set back from porte-cochere area. Could catch a glimpse of the Skyliner people mover pods going by.

At most DVC resorts, I've made a habit of rolling up one towel into a tube and laying it in front of the door gap whenever I'm in the room for the night. It definitely helps quiet the sounds in the hallways, and also helps with light coming under the doors (I'm a very dark sleeper so I try to get rid of as much light as I can - unfortunately difficult at Disney as there's always light coming around the tops of the blinds, smoke alarms, bathroom nightlight (which I block with a towel), and in the main room, the microwave clock, etc.

At home all of my master bedroom electronics have blackout modes and I have full blackout plantation shutters on the sliding doors and windows - so I can get it near-black in there, even with east-facing sliding doors!

Definitely good use of an extra towel. I was happy to receive a dedicated. I had to use the towel for the connecting door at BLT. (Be aware others can hear all your lack volume control, those doors don’t hold much back with a one inch gap & no carpet to muffle it).

My master has thick plantation shutters - solid wood, with full wood frame around it so no light leaks around the top or bottom or sides. When the slats are closed, they're flush - I can open the horizontal slats to let light in, or slide the panels open for full access when I do want light. Yes - there are 4 panels over the sliding doors that can slide open to access the doors they have the same full wood framing all around, and sit flush (you have to close the slats to slide the doors open as they fit so tight).

In South Florida, it's hot and bright and with the sliding doors facing directly east, the sun is brutal first thing in the morning. I originally had vertical blinds with curtains as well - but the vertical blinds always bled a little light through the bottoms that the curtains couldn't completely cover, and a little light could always bleed from the top where the curtain rods were spaced from the wall.

Found a pic of the plantation sliders. This was while installing new carpet so it hadn’t been leveled yet, which is why you can see a little light sneaking under the slider on the left. It’s now completely flush.
