The "I gotta do something to pass the time"pre-trip report

i just had this really great mental image of someone from Mousekeeping showing up to look after them, extra mouse ears and a bathroom fastpass in each hand... :rotfl:

Darn, too bad there's no universe in which i can actually be described as "good"! :rolleyes1

Love it! :lmao:

Vickie - your boys sound great and I hope they are able to bless you with some wonderful daughters-in-law in the future. Your Thanksgiving celebration is enough to get you through the next few days. Whoa! Sounds like a lot of fun. I miss getting together with a lot of my family - my favorite cousins live in Orlando.

Take care of yourself as you're getting used to your new meds. Hope it doesn't take long.

Is everyone busy tonight baking for tomorrows Thanksgiving dinner?

We just got back from my cousins house she had her Thanksgiving dinner tonight. We didn't stay very long I am a little sick to my tummy. and I have a migraine:headache:

I did manage to go to the cemetry this afternoon after work to put the wreaths on my departed loved ones graves. Then came home to finish the cranberry relish and cheese potato casserole we took to tonights dinner.

DH is in the kitchen making tomorrows pumpkin and pecan pies. I usually have most dishes baked and ready to go the night before but don't know how many I will manage to get done tonight. We have about 18 to feed tomorrow.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE hope you all have a blessed day.:flower3:

Oh Vickey i wish you were feeling better! You're only 10 days away from your trip, you need to be healthy and excited and strong again! i hope you got a good night's sleep and woke up feeling much better.

It's not Thanksgiving here in Canada, just a normal day. Since it's Thursday, it's my day off, so i am going to go put up a Christmas tree at my dad's house. It's one of the things i love to do but will be especially bittersweet this year after just last weekend finally seeing my stepmom's grave. That was much harder than i thought it would be.

Enjoy all your pumpkin and pecan pies, and especially your family. Have a wonderful day.

Check in on you from PA! I hope your feeling better!!! Ugghhhh! I'm so sorry about the migraine! Just think Mickey!!!! pixiedust:

Okay, it's been two days, where are you Miss Vickey? Come back and post and let us know you're okay! You are down to 8 days left!

i hope your thanksgiving got better and that you are feeling much better now

:guilty: Ok, where are you?! Your worrying me!!! I hope everything is OK and your just busy after thanksgiving and getting ready for your trip!!!!

Sorry to worry you.
We had Wed.Thurs. and Friday thanksgiving get togethers with Friday also being a wedding for my older brother. Friday evening I started feeling the meds change drastically. Thank goodness it happened before DW. I have been one sick puppy. Doctor seems to think I might have picked up a stomach virus haven't been able to keep anything down or in.
Trying to get everything done, how come it seemed as if time held still for so long and now it seems as if it is flying by.

I hope everyones Thanksgiving was a joyous time with family and friends.

We are getting some snow flurries today. I hope it doesn't snow on Sunday when we leave it is quite a drive to the airport.

6 MORE DAYS:mickeyjum :mickeyjum :mickeyjum :mickeyjum

Oh sweetie, i'm so sorry you've been sick! i hope you feel SO much better soon.

We have had almost a foot of snow over the last week! It's nuts! Yesterday it got real warm and started to melt a bit, then all of a sudden it got cold and snowed about 6 inches from midnight to this afternoon. Craziness!

My tummy bug is better just the cramping that follows.
Trying to get use to the med adjustment is getting a little more tolerable.

I need some pixie dust to help me get everything I need to get done...DONE.
So much to do and so little time left.

Here is a little something I'll share with you that I hope you find as cute as I did.......one of my patients couldn't wait to see me this morning as soon as I got at the Assistant Care Facility the head nurse and several aides let me know that Miriam wanted to see me right away I was worried something was wrong so I trotted to her room fast, with everyone following this worried me more....I get to her room and she looks at me and tells me in a very calm voice that Mickey came to visit her last night...mind you she said nothing else just that.... I look to the facility nurse for help thinking her dementia has taken a turn for the worse....then she tells me to look over in the corner by her chair and I'd find Mickey everyone starts laughing I walk over to the corner and what do I see but a field mouse that had been caught. Then Miriam says quess this means you don't need to go to Disney to see Mickey so you can stay right here.I told them when they catch Winnie the Pooh that is when I will think about not going '
They are tearing down an old hospital near the Care Facility and we have somehow managed to get some of their furry friends as residents.

Well I do have to hem three pair of pants for my DH to take on vacation so I'd better get off here for now.

Oh my!! I think I field mouse would a reason to leave and go on vacation! The only rodent I can deal with is Mickey!!!

Lots of pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: and, of course, that the next 5 days go smoothly and you get everything done that you need to!!

oh my goodness, sounds like a real treat to find when you first get to work!

i shared my office with a chipmunk for a few hours one day this summer; i wouldn't have been so calm if it had been a mouse. The chipmunk was so cute and terrified though, he just cowered behind my desk for ages, shaking like a leaf. So cute.

Speaking of cute i love how Rudolph seems to be looking back at your ticker all the time!

pixiedust: :yay: :cheer2: pixiedust: party: :tinker: and last but not least

If you need help packing or anything, i'd be glad to help you!!! ;)

I didn't notice Rudolph until you said that.
How soon can you get here to help with the packing. I'll even pack you in the suitcase.:yay:
I also have to clean the house so my DS will have something to mess up while we are gone.
Plus I have 6 Christmas goodie baskets to finish making before we leave and then 13 when we get home.
Every year my DH and I bake pumpkin bread, cranberry pecan bread, lemon poppyseed bread, buckeyes, bourbon balls, sugar cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies, spritz cookies, and hand poured chocolates (in molds) not to mention this year we decided to add dipped pretzel rods(wonder were I got that idea from) so far we have the bourbon balls and buckeyes done nothing else.

I did manage to get the 3 pairs of jeans hemmed tonight, and some laundry most of the cosmetics packed and all tops, unmentionables and shoes packed waiting on the rest until I get the laundry done Friday then I will pack the last minute jeans and waiting to see what the weather will be like to get the jackets ready.

I don't care for any kind of rodent either. But they thought that was so cute when she told them she was going to tease me about the mouse being Mickey. Well I told them I am more of a Winnie fan so I think I am safe from them finding and killing Winnie to keep me from going.

Thanks for the pixie dust. It is needed.

MICKEY HELP:smickey:

holy CRAP. i thought *i* had a lot of stuff to do this week... geeeeeez. :confused3

i'll be on the next plane, provided we don't get snowed in. We're supposed to get another 3-4 inches tonight.

Chores and days are getting smaller in numbers:banana:

I could not sleep last night so I got up at 2:00am and baked 12 loaves of pumpkin bread and almost all of my chocolates( I have chocolate molds I use for every holiday and make suckers and minatures)approx. 30 suckers and alot of minatures poured.
I also dipped 25 pretzel rods in milk chocolate and holiday sprinkles, then did 25 pretzel rods in white chocolate and sprinkles

Will try to do the cookies tomorrow.
Had another Disney induced idea why not dip marshmellows in chocolate will think about that.

DH and I also went to Burlington Coat Store and bought ourselves new coats for our trip just in case it gets nippy in the evenings.
It sure is cold here but at least no snow today and what little we got the other day is GONE.:dance3: :dance3:

Boooo on the snow grinch ;)

Actually i am almost (don't tell anyone) getting tired of the snow already. It's too warm here, just above freezing, but it insists on snowing - well, it's more like a snizzle really, snowy drizzle. It falls incessantly, melts when it touches stuff, and leaves your coat soaked. i found out the hard way that my boots are, in fact, waterproof! :thumbsup2 thank goodness.

i am glad you are getting through your list of things to do. At the moment my to-do list not only has sublists; but the sublists have sublists too! i'm not sure how i'm going to get everything i need to get done, done, especially since the deadlines are all over the place. If i get conscripted for just one more volunteer event i am going to spontaneously self-combust before Christmas, never mind WDW!

Ooops, sorry, rant over

i can't believe you got up and did all that at 2am, that's insane! But smart, rather than lying there worrying about it which is usually my tactic lol.

FOUR MORE DAYS for you!!!! Wow!

NOT QUITE 3 MORE DAYS :dance3:

Bah Humbug to the snow we are suppose to get really cold temps tonight and a possibility of snow flurries on Sunday.

I'm glad your boots are waterproof nothing is worse than wet feet.
You have got to wipe the word volunteer "sucker" off your forehead so everyone will leave you alone so you can think only about WDW.

My list is getting smaller....I baked the cookies(6 dozen or so) today after work, just finished. I think I ate a dozen:rolleyes1
Also finished my last minute shopping such as our snacks...me..dried fruit and almonds...DH...beef sticks,p&b crackers(indivual packs). Also bought some magazines to read on plane. I forgot to buy a new battery for my Mickey watch. Will do that after work tomorrow.
I can't help being one of those people who is constantly thinking about what I have to do and then not being able to sleep or sit still till it is all done. I am a professional list maker and worry wart I worryabout what is going to happen and if it doesn't happen then I worry why not.:confused3

I just love seeing Rudolph...thanks again Sare.
