The "I gotta do something to pass the time"pre-trip report

Oh no i am so sorry you hurt yourself!!! The third day is always the worst - just for hurting the most. i hope you feel better very soon!

this is my first time back on the DIS since Friday - darn work getting in the way of my DIS time! i've been thinking of doing a PTR but just don't seem to have two seconds to rub together sometimes :(

sounds like you're getting a lot done - i know i will be doing all that stuff at the last minute - probably the night before we leave when i'm too excited to sleep!

did you enjoy Nemo? it's one of my favourites.

The second day(Sunday) was not a picnic in the park but this morning I actually feel as if I've been ran over by a Mac truck:mad: .It hurts to even sneeze.(people don't realise how many muscles it takes to sneeze).
Sorry to hear you are so busy at work that you can't do a PTR I'd love to read yours.
I too would probably be doing it at the last moment if it wasn't for the fall and bumming up my knee and back.
I loved Nemo, can't wait to see the show at WDW.

I am going to try and fit in a couple of my patients with my sweet DH's help he said he'd go with me and play nurse for the day.:dance3: That should be interesting to say the least, but I know my little ladies will LOVE:love: having him over me.

Hope your day is easier and less hectic.

Here's my daily post.
Was up most of the night since I couldn't get comfortable.I thought I was sore when I fell but as the days go on I get sorer,I am sore in areas that I didn't realise I'd hurt. It must be from twisting by upper body to keep from hitting my right hip which is where my implant for my bladder is located. Today I can hardly move. Not much I can take for the pain because of my cancer drug and my thyroid condition so I have to bare and grin it.
I am still on the couch hoping to be better by tomorrow as I can't afford to take time away from my patients I do private duty and they don't have anyone else take care of them during the week.

Oh well pity party over.

I have to admit this has given me time to get some of my Disney projects done such as I now have my dining tip envelopes and mousekeeping envelopes done. Also printed out some decorations to put in the windows and on the door of our resort(I also bought soome Disney clings at the Dollar store the other day).Made our luggage tags (HD green Mickey Heads).Made my November countdown calendar I already made an October one I am using now.

Went over my plan book and have read alot of the TR's.
I'm BORED to say the least I am not used to being homeward -couch bound.

Please someone take pity on me and post so I have something to do.:rolleyes1

I hope your feeling better! Did you enjoy your movies?:happytv: I hope they brightened your spirits a bit! I know it stinks to be stuck and not be able to do anything! I HATE to just sit! I'm sending you some virtual chicken soup, a slice of yummy cake and a get better  Heel fast! Mickey is waiting for you!

Awww i know how you feel. The third day after i fell down the stairs last month i told people "i feel like someone has been using me for batting practice, but i can't tell if i was the bat or the ball!" :lmao:

i hope your DH's nursing skills helped you and your patients out today. Are they still sick, by the way?

I find your PTR funny as I was about to do the same thing to pass my 36 days (as of oct. 20). I can hardly wait. I'll be anxiously reading yours!!

Thanks for the soup it was delicious, the cake was yummy and the hug was much needed.
Yes I did enjoy the movies, I can't remember the last time I felt like a little girl watching Disney movies.
I hate being an invalid I am a little (some might say alot)hyper and am constantly having to do something.
My knee is feeling a little better today. But the rest of my body is still saying
OUCH.

My DH was so funny yesterday when he got to play nurse,.
I had two patients to see one is 94 and is still able to do some for herself but has short term memory and dementia so he asks the same Question over and over again, my DH was so confused after answering her the 7th time around. He didn't know if he was coming or going.:confused3
But what really scared him was when she asked him to help her to the potty(as I was taking it easy and sitting in a chair doing my charting) he looked at me with this FEAR:scared1: and said "Vickey she needs YOUR help" I proceeded telling him he was doing fine they didn't need my help, but of course I got up and helped her I didn't want to traumatize him too much:confused3
My other patient is 88 and has Alzheimer's and dementia so she of course is off in her own little world sometimes and yesterday she was definetly on Mars she was confused and kept thinking her dog (the one she had a long time ago)was there with her and it was one of those moments you which you'd brought the video camera when my husband went to sit down she yells out "don't sit on Darby" so he quickly gets up and goes to move only to her her say "watch it you'll step on her tail" my poor DH didn't know where to move so he stood in one spot for the next 30 minutes afraid if he moved he would step on Darby.
Of course he is hapy I was able to find someone to fill in for me for the next 2 days to give me more time to heal.

Go for it do a PTR, I'd love to read it.:surfweb:
Enjoy your trip and do a TR when you get back to let us know how your visit with the mouse went.

Ah. I feel so far behind.
I hope you're feeling better (and less sore). :goodvibes LOL! That story about your DH is hee-larious.

Thanks I am feeling less sore in some spots but sorer in others.:confused3
Doctors and DH's orders are to still stay couch bound for 2 more days (what they don't know or see we won't tell;) )
My biggest concern is my knee it is still sore and giving out when I walk sometimes.
My DH didn't seem to find it very hee-larious and is waiting with baited breath hoping I won't make him do it again. But it brightened my day up:laughing:

i'm positive it brightened up your patient's day as well!!

i'm glad to hear you're starting to feel better but am concerned about your knee. i know it's hard to stay still when you're an active person but sometimes you just have to let things heal!! Running around as soon as your DH is out of sight isn't going to make you get better faster - and in the long run won't make you *feel* better either. Please heed the doctor's advice and stay off your feet as much as possible, at least for a few days while you know your patients are in good hands! Especially if it is giving out on you when you walk!!

Your trip is only 1 month, 2 weeks and 1 day away... you've got to be in good walking shape by then :)

Wow i'm a total nag!

YES MOMMY I PROMISE TO BE A GOOD GIRL
Seriuosly I appreciate your concern. But you know how it is anyone who works in the medical field is good at giving advice but terrible about following it. But I was good today stayed either on the couch laying or sitting with leg up. My doctor has prescribed a anti-inflammatory with a low dose pain medicine in it and it had me pretty knocked out

Keep being a good girl!

It's your own fault, being nice and friendly and stuff, making me care!

i'm glad you were a good girl today and hope the medication helps you feel better.

I'm trying:rolleyes1 But it is hard.

NICE...FRIENDLY...surely you must have me mistaken for another poster.:confused3

To be honest the medication has been the reason I have been so good it makes me Sleepy and Dopey which makes my family Happy and they are not Bashful about telling me to not be so Grumpy or they will tell Doc I quess this is not something to Sneez(y) about...me thinks I have Disney on the brain:rolleyes:

I do go see the doctor tomorrow and will see what he thinks.
I have taken so easy today with 3 cats and a dog curled up with me on the couch sleeping and watching more movies I pulled out the oldies that my boys watched when they were little,It felt like I was doing something bad like skipping school.
I still have 2 more hours to go before the gang comes home. You can only talk to the animals for so far before you start imagining them answering you.
I didn't realise how quiet it is during the day when everyone is away.:scared1:

I just wanted to share something before calling it a night.
Today makes my 5th birthday...this day 5 years ago I was in the hospital having surgery for bladder cancer.
My DH has brought home a small rose bush every year on this date to plant in our garden and today he bought a beautiful salmon colored one.And a small stuffed Minnie Mouse.I just love:lovestruc that man.
And both my sons have given me a single red rose every year that I have saved and pressed into a book.Love them too:love:
Just when I thought it couldn't get better my sisters,brothers,aunts/uncles and several cousins along with several friends came by with dinner and small little gifts most of them are Disney related will tell you about them tomorrow as I am tired (again that dang medicine) I wish I knew they were coming I wouldn't have taken it.So much for surprises.

Aw, that's so nice that you have such a supportive family! i'm so happy they were all there to mark the occasion with you - five years is a long time, and you've been through so much!

i've nothing to nag you about today, so i'll send pixie dust and  your way. Good luck with the Doctor tomorrow (and i did enjoy your dwarves!)

Your DH and your sons sound wonderful! They must love you a lot! Congratulations on your anniversary! Here's to many more years of goos health! Get some rest and I hope the soreness goes away soon!

I'm all caught up now. I'm so sorry you hurt your knee - us medical people absolutely make the worst patients. Please listen to your doctors - you need your knee to last. (like I told you before, you'll never get the nurse or mother out of me) :lmao: I hope you reported the incident to the nursing home???:confused3 That carpet is such a risk.

Glad to hear you watched Nemo. It's one of my favorites. It's the first movie we took DS8 to see. Just remember what Dorie says "just keep swimming" and you'll get to where you want to go.

Your DH sounds awesome as do your sons. Congratulations on your 5th year - what a milestone. :cool1:

Meanwhile, keep watching your Disney movies - I love that part of preparing for a trip.
