Okay now were back to Friday. We left the MK for a break something I thought Id never, ever do while at Disney. I really didnt want to do this, but Handsome needed a nap, the MK was getting packed, and speaking of packing I needed to get a jump on packing. We had to return home the next day. I really didnt want to think about that.
I think that the next-to-the-last day of any trip is the worst of all. Youre still there and having fun, but then you gotta prepare to return to reality. Yuck.
After packing, a short swim and a nap, it was time to eat again. There really wasnt anywhere we were desparate to eat at in the MK, so we chose the Riverside Mill again.
By this time in the trip I wasnt being too picky about what I ate, or where we ate. So we got our meals and this time we gave in and let the kids sit in the TV area. By this time in the week we were ready for a bit of a parenting break, whatever it happened to be!
So, I guess you want to know what we got for our meals, huh? I wasnt being very adventurous, so since I loved the pasta of the other day, I got the same thing, only with chocolate cake instead of a Mickey rice krispy treat:
Make your own pasta, reprise!, with chocolate cake and large water
Yes, this was just as yummy as before, but since I just about had enough food for this trip I really didnt enjoy it as much as the first time. All I kept thinking was that I shouldve chose something I hadnt had before. The chocolate cake was rich and creamy and yummy, but I gave up after a few bites. There was just no more room in the tummy anymore.
Handsome always is up to trying something different, which is easy for him to do since he doesnt take forever to make up his mind. This time he chose the Muffeletta with potato chips, Mickey rice krispy treat & cranberry juice:
Look at all of that meat! Yum!
I had read about the Muffeletta on the DIS but I really didnt know what it was. I took a bite and loved it! All I got was a bunch of meat, cheese & bread, but none of the olive spread. That may have changed my mind a bit if I had tasted the olives, just because Im not too much of an olive fan.
He devoured the whole thing.
The kids had no problem making up their minds, as usual. Heres their choices:
Buddy boy got the pasta & marinara sauce kids meal with applesauce, chocolate chip cookie & milk
There was nothing left of this meal when he was done with it. I think that he liked it. He also had no problem putting away my garlic bread, either. He ate his meal very fast so he could go over and watch cartoons.
Sweetie Girl got the fried fish Kids meal with carrots, applesauce & milk:
That was a big hunk of fish. She had a hard time eating all of it. She ate the applesauce & we took the carrots with us for a future snack.
We returned to the Magic Kingdom after somehow managing to pry the kids away from the cartoons, coloring pages, musical instruments and spontaneous parades around the dining room, all courtesy of some very fun CMs. They did a fantastic job of entertaining the kids, and they looked like they were enjoying themselves, too!
Next: The Food and Whine Festival.
