Day 4 – Wednesday
Another lovely lie in as Liz went to the fitness suite. We met Minnie before Breakfast
and again headed for the studios first. Shortest queue I’d ever seen for Crush. So we rode it again and then the RC racer twice.
Queuing for tower of terror there were 4 girls in front of us and as they passed to the CM he went “boo” and they screamed so much that he lost it and burst out laughing! It was so funny. Then, because the floor was wet one of them slipped over and the CM grabbed the Caution cone and held it up asking if she could see it! He found out if she was OK first though and she was, thank goodness!
La la la lalalaaa Animagique. We sat at the side nearest the exit door and no one else was there, when the ‘flying fish’ came out he flew it really low over us which was awesome.
Flying carpets and Tower of Terror before tea and a salad at Blockbuster cafe.
On our way to the main park we popped into the hotel and met Eeyore Rabbit and Scrooge McDuck who had a basket of coins that he was giving children. He wouldn’t share them with us and we had to convince him we wouldn’t take them before we could have a photo. He also tried to slot them into bits of Eeyore’s face! I guess the characters have to make their own fun when the DLH is quiet.
We went straight to Pirates and then Snow White, Pinnochio and back to Pirates (!)
We had a free hot chocolate in Hakuna Matata, that I’d never been in before. We went on Phantom Manor, used our hotel fast passes for BTM. Pirates (again) and Buzz and we caught the parade again on it’s way back. When Tigger went passed he got us in a BIG hug and I didn’t know why, then of course I realised our hats!!
We went back to cafe Mickeys we shared garlic mushrooms and Caesar salad, and I had the fish and chips and the chocolate cake with vanilla icecream. Mmm.
Dale launched himself on me, which is quite bizarre to be under a chipmunk going “Dale! Get off!” he was going around messing up all the ladies hair! We also met goofy, chip, mickey and Pluto!
Our waiter was brilliant. When we asked for the bill he brought us a bowl of sweets - I guess from the children’s pudding and lots of the sucky sweets. He told us we could take them home!
We had a final wander around the DLH trying to drink it all in as we’re not sure when we’ll be able to go back again and we sat in the lobby for a bit.
Oh! Our beds weren’t turned down but there were 7 chocolate coins left on the table! So, we didn’t mind too much!
Thursday 3rd Feb – Thursday – the last day
Another lie in whilst Liz went to the gym. Sad to be packing again. Seems like we only just arrived.
After breakfast we met a very naughty chip and dale. They had been told to behave as the people before us had very small children who were a bit scared so when Liz and I stepped up they wouldn’t stop misbehaving! Their CM came to tell them off and Chip put his head on my shoulder and shook like he was scared! Then just as we were about to have our photo taken they got us in a huddle (see photo) so it couldn’t be taken! It was so much fun, a lovely last breakfast.
Over to the studios again and on RC racer and Tower of Terror twice and as we cam out we spotted Stitch. I was delighted, I hadn’t seen him all trip. I showed him my bag and he loved it. As we had our photos taken all the studio meet and greet characters came out and we followed Mary Poppins and Bert to have a photo.
And then we met Mulan who loved our scarves! She was so lovely, but I go a bit weird with face characters and say stupid things. I told Mulan that my Mum made the scarves and that they were reversible!! She said they were magical, but looked a little bit like I might be a scarf collector or just rather eccentric.
We watched Gaston but he was very loud so we walked over to meet Remy and Emile.
We walked to the Disneyland Park and had candyfloss whilst watching the show time spectacular which I found I knew many more of the words than I thought! We went on Pirates, Phantom Manor, BTM Pirates twice, Snow White and Pinochio – trying to cram in as much as possible before Dinner at Plaza Gardens.
We had five courses! Starter, main, pudding, started, pudding!! There were these amazing sweet buns with like a creamy custardy icecream blob in the middle – so so nice.
We went on Buzz. Watched the Parade again and then stayed on Pirates for two goes.
And then the magic was over and we collected our suitcases and made our way to the Eurostar depot.
