The I am a pirate/fireman, I am not a hijacker thread, all about nothing in general

After my tough day trying on jeans, poured myself my first bourbon just before 5pm

wow, only 2.5 hours in and I'm already over working this week...

My boss retired on Friday without telling anyone, so now, not only do I not have a safety net for when I make stupid mistakes, but also by not telling anyone he has deprived us of a cake day :headache:

Also our computers aren't working properly. Not enough so we can sit back and wait for them to start working, but enough that now everything we try and do takes 3 times as long...

Thank goodness our net is still working. This was I can look busy, but really just be combing the dis :surfweb:

No cake???? :scared1:

I am so over this winter. My cough is back. Sadly, it's that low grade thing..I feel sick but not sick enough to stay home.

Carlo currently has pleurisy which has increased his asthma.

I went for a job where we did a phone interview then face to face interview then assessment centre then verbal numerical and abstract reasoning tests then psychometric and personality tests... I think i am at stage 5 of the process. Next step if i make it through is employment check then ref check then they decide if they want to give me the job... God it is exhausting trying to get employed these days..

I have worked only in financial services and they usually have a 'process' of several stages but this seems quite intense.. I am finding it quite daunting to have to 'sell' myself especially as i prefer to do good work but i dont like talking about myself :( surprising to hear coming from a poster on a forum but its different in an interview room...

I guess i can only sit back and see how it goes :s

Good luck. Hope you get the job.

lots of pixie dust Alicia! I hope Carlos gets better soon too, pleurisy is nasty!

I think the hiring process really depends on the company, if it's some major national company then that sort of process isn't out of the question, plus throw in drug tests too, but with a local company half the time just a phone call is all you go through.

Hmmm, I wonder if I can get on the panel to find my new boss... lol

oh i am all for finding the right person for the job, and ensuring that they are honest, reliable, cultural fit with the organisation etc.

just sucks to be on the receiving end of that :)

fingers, eyes and toes crossed.......

have a great day ladies:yay:

9 more sleeps

just ordered my $$$ from post office, DH pressured me into it
so got $600usd for $606aud......not bad I guess
all in $1 notes:rotfl:

I'm trying to decide whether to continue with the idea of throwing DH a surprise birthday party, or booking a cruise that takes in both new years and his birthday...

The cruise would be easier to organise and he'd love it.

He'd love having a party with all of his mates who live no where near us.

The cruise would cost more, and we'd need to make sure it can fit around work.

There is a minimum of a 7 night stay out at the lake where I'd throw the party, so all of the guests would either have to book for 7 nights, or find accom in town... Which is a pain...

hmm... I might need to start a poll :rotfl2:

would love to see what $600 in $1 bills looks like :)

These winds tonight are freaking me out :scared1:

We don't have any trees around us to shield the house from the wind and this is :scared1: out of control

Stay safe Bec.

The winds are pretty 'windy' here too...and I'm in the 'burbs.
