You all have been so wonderful to listen to our "used" camper search....First was the Fun Finder w/ water damage. Then the 280BH that needed too much work. Then the infamous 280BH where the seller wanted to charge us to have the unit inspected.

So we finally gave up on the used market and bought a new one! Yesterday we got a brand new 2011 Keystone Passport 290BH at Lazydays! This is probably the best for our family since it has quad bunks.

Seriously we had no intention on getting new. Still in shock, but very excited. Since we will tow w/ a Suburban, we had to be cautious weight wise and this one is about 5100 lbs so it should be good. Kind of limited our choices but we all fell in love with the Passports.

We are going to stay in it at Lazydays on Thursday evening to see if everything works, etc....Our first trip to the Fort is coming up September 11th.

Just had to share...pictures to come :)

Congratulations, I can't wait for the pictures. We are going to do some window shopping today and probably will end up at Lazy Days.

Enjoy the new rig!

congrats! I think you made the right choice by going new. It will give you a little better piece of mind and the warranty to boot :)

Wonderful, I can feel your excitement. So when is your first camping trip in your new TT ?

Did you say pics ? popcorn::

Solamom,

Congrats!

Your trailer weight sounds okay. I have a 2005 Suburban and its max towing is listed at 7500# so even if you do the max occupants weight thing you should be fine. I've thougth about upgrading from my pop-up to a TT and the 5000# weight range is about as high as I would want to go (and still keep the Burb as the TV).

Plus you know we all love pix! popcorn::

Congratulations! I've looked at those exact trailers online at LD's website...they are very nice. Can't wait to see pics, both of the TT and of your upcoming trip to the Fort!

Congradulations. That is a virtual twin to our Keystone Bullet. Other than the placement of the entertainment center in the rear. We love ours and Im sure you will too. We arrive two weeks after you do at the Fort. This will be our first time camping at Disney.

Just got back from Lazy Days and spent a lot of time looking at the passports, and I have to say the model you got has got us extremely interested. We are a family of 5 so the bunkhouse is going to be the way to go when/if we upgrade. Very nice purchase you made.

My DH says he wishes we would've known someone was thinking of selling an Avalon :) He really wanted an Avalon --- I pushed more for the TT and eventually he agreed. We have looked for almost 2 years --- starting w/ pop ups and loved the Avalon! I guess we went through all the camping stages (tent/pop up/hybrid/tt) w/out actually purchasing anything!

You probably went through the one we are getting, I'm sure its still on the lot since we don't take Delivery until Saturday and last I checked there was only 2 290BHs on the lot. Still unsure how this whole process works but we are learning.

Congrats! I know this is so exciting! I can't wait to see pics, and also see pics of your first Fort trip!

DH and I have looked at this camper, and it is super nice, especially for a family! :cool1:

Congrats on the new trailer, you are right in my backyard. I work not 5min from there, so if you pass a big sign on rt 4 that says Sunrise Landscape beep I will here you. We brought there also and we traded a MH in, they let us park one next to the other and transfer all our stuff.
This must be so exciting for you enjoy.

Nice to meet a fellow Riverview(ian) --- is that a word??? That is where we live! I know Sunrise well, you all have done landscape work for the company I work for in the past!

But I'll be sure to beep next time we drive by:yay:

Nice to find people that live near u that love to camp. Can you say who u work for? Where in Riverview? Now that u are going to camp do you have other places in mind? We love Crystal River, going there next week, but the FT is our fav.

We love our Avalon. It has everything we need and is very roomy for our family. We will most likely skip the Hybrid stage and go directly to a TT when we are ready for a change (probably when I get tired of setting it up and breaking it down).

I can't believe how they leave the "sold" units open for everyone to walk through. I guess it is so they can see the floorplans, but if I purchased a new rig I would want it locked down and moved to the cleaning/staging area to get ready for delivery.

We are close to Riverview High School. We have not camped anyplace else...yet. We have ressies though at Ft. Desoto for New Years Eve and New Years Day (waterfront)

Have several trips to the Ft. Planned, and I am hoping I can get something for Thanksgiving...so far Nothing! If Thanksgiving doesn't work out at the Fort, I'm sure we will hit a state park or something - we will go somewhere that weekend. Is Crystal River a state park?
