The "How did I pull this one out of my hat?" TR - NEW! Updated 9/24

Oops, forgot to turn those pictures the right way! I will have to remember that on the next update! LOL

I'm really enjoying your trip report! We were there the same week. We checked in on Sat. and left the following Sunday. The funny thing - we were at MK on Sunday also - I think for opening?? I know we saw the opening one of the days and I'm pretty sure that was the day we arrived early. I saw in another post that you commented on the crowds. We too found it VERY busy that week. We always go during that week and it's never been that crowded.
Can't wait to here more!

I guess we just hit it at a bad week! I have talked to 2 different people, one was there the week after us, and one was there last week, and they both said the crowds were really low! We are already planning for next September.....hopefully we will catch a "low crowd" week!!

So, we were hot and tired, and in desperate need of a break! They had called a little earlier to tell us that our room was ready for us, and we were definitely ready for it!

We headed out and took the boat over to the hotel. The dock they had us wait at was different than the year before, and we were a little confused as to which line we needed to be in, but we got it all figured out.

We got to our room, and we knew that we were in the same building, facing the same direction, but we were actually one floor up and one room over from last year. It felt like the same room, just a mirror image!

We called down to have our luggage delivered, and they had it to us in no time!

The boys were itching to get to the pool, but dh and I were itching to take a nap! I also really wanted DD to take a nap as well, and getting her settled down can be a challenge sometimes!

I remember telling the boys to give me until 2pm, then we would go to the pool. Luckily, right before 2, DD crawled up beside DH and finally fell asleep.

The boys and I got changed and headed to the pool. They wanted to do some sliding! We got there, and within 2 minutes they were closing the pool because a kid had done their business in there :scared1: !! I didn't actually see it, thank goodness!

I asked the boys if they wanted to head over to the other pool, but they wanted to wait, so we waited! The pool was packed when we got there, but the closing made everyone clear out. I think it took about 30 minutes for the pool to re-open, but when it did, they were the first ones down the slide.

We played for a bit in the pool, and then it was time to head back to get ready for dinner.

We had reservations at O'hana for 5:25. We were all supposed to eat here last year on our last night, but dh was too tired, so we left DD with him, and the boys and I went alone. We really enjoyed it, and I wanted DH to try it this year!

So, we all got dressed and headed back out to the boat dock. I think the boat had just pulled up when we got there, so no waiting! Here are a few pics of our ride to the Poly:

P1010552-1.jpg

P1010553-1.jpg

The Poly has such a cool vibe to it when you walk in, and I could tell that DH was impressed as well.

We headed upstairs and got checked in. The Little League World Series finals were on, and it was a bit ironic, because Hawaii was playing, and here we were "in Hawaii"!

Dh couldn't seem to grasp that our ADR did not mean that we would be immediately seated, and the whole week he would ask me why! I don't think he listens to my answer....selective hearing!

We didn't wait long until they were calling us to our table. It wasn't the best location....last year we had a castle view....but it would do. I ordered a Lapu Lapu and dh ordered some crazy drink that he thought was WAY too strong!

The food arrived and we were all loving it! The boys loved the wings and the bread, dh and I loved it all!

At some point the started playing the games, so the kids got into the action:
P1010558-1.jpg

I took more pictures, but they didn't turn out very well.

With our bellies full, it was time to head back over to the Magic Kingdom! It was an EMH night, so we were going to last as long as we could.

I think we took the monorail over to the park, and it was CROWDED!!

We had FP from earlier for Space Mountain, so the boys and I headed over there while DH and DD rode Buzz. I LOVE SM, I squeal like a little girl when I ride it! The boys had a good laugh at my expense afterwards....they couldn't believe how I screamed!

We met back up with DH and DD and headed towards Fantasyland. The teacups didn't have a long line, so the kids jumped in. Dh and I cannot take the spinning anymore, so they had to ride alone.
P1010569-1.jpg

We also had FP for Splash from the morning, so we headed back over there to ride. DD was so excited to ride it at night!
I love the little laundry:
P1010572.jpg

Dh asked me to get this picture:
P1010575.jpg

We stopped in the shop and bought DS8/9 a Splash Mountain pin to add to his collection, and DD picked out a sucker.

We grabbed some FP for BTM and then the boys wanted a snack as well so we stopped in to the candy store. DS picked out a HUGE caramel apple:
P1010577-1.jpg

DD helped straighten up the lollipop rounder, and the CM gave her a "Magical Moments" certificate! I had to get a picture to commemerate her hard work!
P1010579-1.jpg

Dh was on the phone.....for just about his last time on the trip....more info on that later!
P1010578-1.jpg

Time for our BTMR FP window to open up, and when we got there, we couldn't believe the line just for people to get INTO the FP line! When we got up there, I think I figured out why! The CM checking the FP tickets was enjoying his job just a little too much because he was teasing and goofing off with just about everyone who came to the front of the line!

Even with the FP, we still had about a 20 minute wait to ride this ride!:confused3

The guys running the ride were having a good time too, and every train that came in had the people on it cheering and having a blast!
P1010587.jpg

I have to say that this ride is really fun at night! You definitely have to give it a try if you haven't before!

Time to head over and find a spot for Wishes!
P1010588.jpg

I really wanted to be right in front of the castle this year, but boy, was it crowded!! We found a spot on Main Street, and DH thought I was nuts! He kept saying that we should have found a spot so the kids could sit down, etc. I kept telling him that this would be perfect once the show started.....and he agreed with me afterwards! LOL

Our view in front:
P1010591-1.jpg

Our view behind:
P1010594.jpg

Still working on getting good fireworks shots:
P1010598-1.jpg

Cont'd next post

With the fireworks over, the crowds started dispersing. We worked our way over to the pathway through the Noodle Terrace to head over to check out the line for Buzz.
P1010601-1.jpg

The boys hadn't gotten to ride yet (well, me neither!), so we wanted to give it a shot. It was close, but I barely beat DH! He was not pleased :lmao:

The kids barely escaped the evil Zurg (which reminds me of our first trip to Disney, when my DS10, who was 4.5 at the time, would not ride Buzz because he was scared to death of Zurg! We laugh so hard about that now!) DS8/9 is mad in this picture, as you can tell, because he didn't score well at all. Hmm, just a bit competitive you think?
P1010603-2.jpg

By this time, it was getting late, and the park was still PACKED! Even though we had more time til the park closed, we decided it was time to head back and get some rest for the next day.

On the way out, we stopped for a few more pics:
P1010605-1.jpg

P1010606.jpg

I like the "classic" look of this:
P1010607.jpg

We got on the monorail and headed back to the hotel. Remember in the earlier picture, I said that this would be the last time you would see DH on the phone? Well, it's because he left it on the monorail when we got off on our stop!

After we got off, the kids and I were waiting in the lobby for him to pull the van around to unload a few extra things that we had left in there earlier. He came in and told me that he had left his cell phone, so I ran back up to ask the monorail attendant what to do. We waited for it to come back around and checked to see if it was still there....but no dice!

If I would have only had my cell phone with me, we could have gotten it back right then because a lady did find it, and she called my cell phone to tell me she had it. She said she was leaving it at the monorail station? Whatever that means. We checked every day to see if it ever made it to Lost and Found, but it never did! It definitely made our trip more difficult because when we would split up, we couldn't just stay in contact with our phones! It was very frustrating to know that his phone was somewhere...but we didn't know where!

I guess while this was going on, DS8/9 got my camera out and took some pics of his own:
P1010610.jpg

P1010609.jpg

P1010608.jpg

Someday soon we will be sailing on this:
P1010611.jpg

We finally made it back to the room, and walked in to find this waiting for us:
P1010612-1.jpg

DS8/9 was so excited! That Mickey is solid white chocolate! :mickeyjum

It was now nearing midnight, and we HAD to get in bed! We were all out in no time!

Tomorrow - Epcot!

/
I set the alarm early because I wanted to get an early start on the day. I got up first, then got everyone else up. We had a quick breakfast in the room, then we were off!

Our first stop was going to the Lost and Found at the TTC. We got there right after they opened. We rang the buzzer and the guy came to the window, when we told him why we were there, he got this look on his face. The look that said, "Are you people crazy? You just lost your phone and you think it is here? :rotfl: " Seriously, it was this amused/condescending look that really hit us wrong! It wasn't there of course, so back to the monorail we went.

It was almost 10 am before we made it to the park. Not really the plan! LOL

Walking into the park, we got some photopass pictures:
DisneyPhotoImage158.jpg

The photographer really liked DD, so he took a few of her alone:
DisneyPhotoImage156.jpg

We have never done Spaceship Earth, it was closed on one visit, and the kids weren't interested the first time, so we wanted to give it a try this year! We send DH to get FP for Soarin' and we hopped in line. I have to say, I really enjoyed this ride! I wish we would have had more time to spend in the activities afterwards, but we had to meed DH and since he didn't have his phone, I couldn't call him and have him meet us there! This would become a recurring problem on this trip!

After finding him, we headed over to Test Track. We were going to ride stand by, and the wait said 30 minutes, which didn't sound too bad!

On the way over, we saw the Jamminators, and this one smiled for the camera!:

P1010613.jpg

DD was thrilled that she was tall enough, so we got a picture for proof!
P1010616.jpg

It was kind of cool to walk through the stand by line, there is lots to see! We have always done the FP line before, and you miss lots!
P1010618.jpg

P1010620.jpg

P1010621.jpg

So, we get close to the front, and they announce that the ride is down! We must have gotten in line with the wrong people because the family behind us said that everything they rode the day before broke down on them! So, the cursed family struck again!

Of course once the ride was up again, they let in 9 FP people for every 1 stand by person! Our wait ended up being an hour when it was all said and done!

DisneyPhotoImage152.jpg

By the time we were off the ride, we were running late for our lunch ADR with the princesses in Norway! The kids and I took off to check in, and we left DH to get FP for a later ride on TT.

Once we got checked in, we still had a little wait before they called our name, and boy was it HOT!! We finally got called and got in line to see our princess:
913abdd0.jpg

The boys were getting a little cranky because they were HUNGRY! So, we were very happy to be seated and be able to go right up to the bar and get some food. Dh and I really liked everything, the kids really only enjoyed the fruit.

I don't remember exactly what we ordered, but dh and I both really enjoyed our food. DS didn't like the ravioli:
P1010629.jpg

So he continued on with a little meltdown:
P1010635.jpg

He is so dramatic! :rotfl:

We got all the princess pics (of course the boys were not interested in this at all!):
P1010626.jpg

P1010628.jpg

This Jasmine was so sweet, and I swear we met her again later in the week playing Pocahontas....you be the judge:
P1010631.jpg

2dbbc5ed.jpg

And last, but not least, we got to meet Cinderella!
P1010633.jpg

P1010634.jpg

As I am trying to take some pics of the inside of the restaurant:
P1010636.jpg

Dh is getting ready to pay the check, and he gets that worried look on his face! He can't find his "Key to the World"!!:scared1: I tell him he has probably left it in the FP machine back at TT. I felt so bad for him, I thought he was going to cry!

Now we were in a hurry to get to Guest Services, and our waitress was not helping us! She was a really sweet waitress, but not really on top of her game! She brought us the wrong check, after we waited forever on it in the first place!

We finally got out of there, and headed straight to GS. They were so nice and helpful, and got DH a new card right away. We were afraid this would really put us behind, but it literally took 5 minutes!

DS had been wanting to go to Club Cool all day, so we took some time to try out the soda's in there. He knew about The Beverly, but I convinced him to try it again anyway:
P1010638.jpg
:rotfl:

We decided it was time for Soarin'! I was so looking forward to this!

Have they switched up the way you enter this ride, or am I crazy? I always remember walking in on the right and having to go left to get in the pre-show area. This time, we entered on the left and had to go right to get into the pre-show area. The kids thought the same thing, so maybe I am not crazy.

Mini-vent here>>>I know my kids aren't angels, and when they get excited they can get a little out of hand, but the family behind us was OUT OF CONTROL!! They had 3 kids, and they were pushing each other, hitting each other, etc. The parents were completely oblivious to all of this until one of them got hurt, then they started disciplining. I seriously just couldn't believe they let it go on as long as they did before they said something! Very rude and distracting to everyone else in line.

We asked to sit in the middle/front and we were directed to the middle section. The people behind us asked for the middle as well. We went to the first row, and they got in the back row? I thought I was in the right row to be in the front.....and so did they! Then I got nervous....were we in the right row? Would we see feet or not? I could tell they were thinking the same thing! Did we have it right, or did they?

HOW did I not know you had started your TR??? :confused3 Well it made for a nice afternoon of catching up and now I'm anxious for more! A few random comments.

GF... :thumbsup2 It's on my "someday" list for hotels

:headache: for losing the cell phone

You got a lot of great pictures but my two favorites are DD hugging one of the princesses (Cinderella maybe?) so tight and DS after tasting beverly!

Looking forward to more. Sounds like it was a great trip!

I think the girl is the same, based on her tan and smile. I'm pretty convinced.

My Boyfriend lost his phone last trip and he just kept going to the concierge and eventually went to the lost and found at the pet kennel, by the TTC:confused3 kinda weird, but he eventually got it back. I guess we were lucky.

Keep up the good work, I can't wait to hear more :thumbsup2

I just realized you had started a report. What a great looking family you have! They are all adorable.

I agree with you about going through the regular line vs. the FP line. I've only Fastpassed Expedition Everest (the only time I did it), and I want to go back through the regular line to get a lot of good pictures. I don't care anything about riding it again, because I thought it was a litle rough, but I do want to get queue pictures.

The picture of your daughter smiling her way up Splash Mountain is great. That is a precious little face!

Thanks for reading! Funny thing about the GF, on our first trip, I looked across that lagoon and thought to myself "well, there is a place I will never stay!", and two visits later, we were there! I am wanting to try some other hotels now though!

The Lost and Found is in the same building as the Kennel, so that is where we went and called every day! I can only imagine how many cell phones they get each day!

Aww, thanks for the nice comments about my DD. I think she is a sweetie, but I am a little biased! LOL

Disney does just a fabulous job with their designs! I always wish that I was walking a little slower through the Kali River line, that one is amazing as well!

Thanks for reading!

Your DD is absolutely adorable!!! Hmmmm... I think Pocahontas and Jasmine might be sisters! LOL!

Ok, I left you hanging when we were waiting in line to ride Soarin'. They opened up the doors for us, and led us straight to the front row! I was so excited because my one and only ride on our last trip was in the back row on the right.....not even close to the same ride!

I will have to say that when you are up this high, I don't have the same sensation of my feet almost dragging the water or treetops that I have had when riding on the bottom row! I sort of missed that feeling! :rotfl:

DD was enthralled, and I wish we could have ridden a second time, but we just didn't have time.

The boys really wanted to ride Mission Space, but DH wanted nothing to do with it, so we split up. The boys and I rode MS while DH took DD to ride Nemo. We decided to meet up at the pop jet fountain right outside of Test Track.

The line for MS was super short, and the ride was a blast as usual! I am definitely a motion sickness person, but this ride doesn't bother me in the least!

We came out, and I parked in on a bench while the boys cooled off in the fountain:
P1010640.jpg

I was not planning on the getting soaked, but that is exactly what happened! Then, out of the blue, it started raining! I was under an umbrella, but what I didn't realize is that the umbrella was metal with little holes all in it! Didn't quite keep me dry!

DH and DD were taking their time I guess (this is one of those time when I missed him having a phone!), but they finally showed up to meet us and we headed to the World Showcase.

I think we stopped for some ice cream on the way.....yummy!

We started in Canada, and can you believe every other time we have walked the WS, we have just walked right by Canada and never strolled in?

We were standing by the entrance to Le Cellier and I listened to some people trying to decide if they wanted to try and eat there...inside I was like this: :lmao: I don't think that is place you want to try and walk up to get a table!

We strolled on up through Canada:
P1010643.jpg

P1010644.jpg

We debated about going to see the movie, and decided to go ahead and give it a try. I was nervous about the 360 (how do you make a "degree" symbol?) format because of the motion sickness, but I figured I could always close my eyes. Well, I am so glad we went to see it, it is amazing!! Definitely a very cool movie, you really feel like you are THERE!

We said goodbye to Canada, and headed on around the WS.

Our next stop was France. We were starting to walk in, and noticed Belle and the Beast off to the left, so DD and headed over to get in line!

I think DH took the boys to the kidcot station at this time.

Allie and got in line next to this sweet family. The mother was in wheelchair with a broken leg! I had to ask her how many weeks ago she broke her leg, and I think she said 7 or 8! I can't even imagine how she felt when that happened....knowing that she had a trip to Disney coming up! That would have been the first thing that ran through my mind if that ever happened to me! She was in pretty good spirits though, so she was making the best of it!

We were in line, and the sky started looking very scary!
P1010647.jpg

The CM there with the characters was getting nervous as well! You could hear the thunder coming, and the dark clouds just kept getting closer and closer! I don't think they would want that Beast costume getting all wet, and I was sure that she was going to have to cut us off and take them in......but finally it was our turn!

P1010649.jpg

I was honestly SURE that my Photopass pictures were gone for good because her little contraption on her hip decided to stop working when we got up there! Beleive it or not, she took my card and wrote on the back where we were, and what time, and she swore that they would be able to look up the pictures when we purchased our CD. I was so flustered, I wasn't even sure if she had given me back my photopass card, or a different one with all that stuff written on the back!

We went and found everyone back at the Kidcot station, and of course DD had to get in on the action as well. I wish I would have strolled through some of the other shops in the France pavilion while we were there, but DH had to go to the bathroom, so I was stuck!

It was getting close to our ADR for dinner in Morocco, so we headed in that direction.

Snapped this on the way out:
P1010650.jpg

Still no rain, but very, very ugly clouds still coming!

We arrived in Morocco:
P1010651.jpg

I love the theming here, you really feel transported to a far away place!

We were still a little early for dinner, but right across from the restaurant was the meet area for Genie!
P1010654.jpg

b8d085ca.jpg

Time for dinner....and now it is absolutely POURING the rain! I guess our timing was perfect because it wasn't the kind of rain you could just put your poncho on and go on ahead with your day!

The food here was just OK. I enjoyed mine more than DH, but I don't even remember what I ordered. Some type of chicken and couscous. The desserts were not that great here either. Definitely glad we were on the meal plan and didn't have to pay out of pocket for this!

The entertainment was pretty neat though:
P1010660.jpg

Hard to get good pictures of this though.

Ds continued with his daily meal breakdown:
P1010664.jpg

Not sure what it was about!

Instead of heading on around the WS, we headed back to ride TT and MS again. We had our FP from earlier for TT, so we did that first:
DisneyPhotoImage151.jpg

While the boys and I did MS again, DH let DD play in the tubes that are at the "dump" area at the end of the ride.

We came out, and it is still raining a bit! I was hoping it would stop before Illuminations, and thankfully, it did!

We found a good spot, and the kids had a seat while we waited for the show to start:
P1010674.jpg

We got some snacks while we waited. We had our first Churro, and it was so good!! I think DH got a margarita.

The show started, and it was good, but no world globe! Definitely is missing something when this part isn't there.

Show is over, time to leave.

It wasn't super crowded, but there were still lots of people heading for the exits. I noticed this little boy, maybe 4 or 5 years old and he was getting separated from his family. I wasn't sure where his family was, but I could tell he was lost and scared because he would run a little bit ahead, then stop and run back the other way. I told DH that he was lost, and we stopped to ask him if he needed help. We stepped off to the side out of the crowd and asked him if he had gotten separated from his family. He immediately started crying...my heart just broke for him! It wasn't even a minute before his Dad came over and got him......didn't even say Thank You to us or anything! He almost even seemed mad! I swear, if we hadn't stopped with him, he may have ended up at the entrance to the park! Oh well....I was still glad we helped him!

Our Epcot day was over, and I feel like we didn't hardly do anything! I am promising myself that next trip will have at least 2 full Epcot days!

But goodbye for now!
P1010676.jpg

I'm enjoying reading your TR!

I think you putting in your son's meltdown pics are so cute! My mom used to take pics of my sister having her meltdowns, and we laugh about them now!

Can't wait for more!

I feel like such an idiot -- how did I not know that you had started your TR??? I was just wondering about you the other day. Duh! I guess I should start looking at the TR board more often! :goodvibes

At any rate, I have just spent a very enjoyable evening catching up on your adventures!
