The "How Could You?" trips x2-the finale! 2/12

Glad you enjoyed my little town of Chattanooga. It is beautiful here. Can't wait to read more.

Awesome you were able to add the extra night on! Disney has always been very good with that on our trips as well. We usually end up tacking on a night at the end of the trip while we are already down there. They let us keep whatever discount we have in place, and all but maybe one time we were able to stay in the same room as well! Nice score!!!

And wonderful they granted your request for the Cabanas section. Twice I have stayed at CSR and requested NOT to be in the Casitas sections. Twice they have put me there, and each time I asked if they could change me, which they could not. And both times were for one night only! As much as I love the grounds at the resort, I am in no hurry to get back! How did you like the Cabanas section?

Thanks for joining in. I do love it in Chattanooga. I don't know why it never occurred to me to ask here on the DisBoards if anyone had any suggestions of other things to do there. I am sure I would have received some awesome ideas. It is very pretty in this area. NEXT TIME!!!

How did you like the Cabanas section?

This is actually a great location for being close to the main pool and not having a far walk to refill those mugs. ;) Plus, they will refill at the pool bar when it is open. And, if you are lucky (or if you are willing to pay for it) that building had a great view! I would walk around the corner to the other hallway and down and just look at the lagoon in the morning. Very pretty!

Forgot to say that when you check in you are at the main building, and you have to drive around the outer circle to get to your parking lot for your section. Not difficult, but the circle around CSR is quite large and every time we pulled into CSR the GPS would say turn left to CO RAY NA DOE Circle. Made me laugh every time. Our GPS apparently came with an accent.
Sooooo, we opened the door to......

the bathroom-we had the grapefruit scented shampoo/conditioner combo and soap and lotion. Not one of their best choices IMHO

So we went out to the car and began unloading. Then, it hit me! The longer we were in the room, the more I was sure it wasn't very fresh smelling in there. :sad2: It smelled like old, sour towels. We were in a bit of a rush to go get a bite to eat and find some entertainment, so I called housekeeping and requested they come do something about the odor while we were out.

We were on our way over here.......(photos taken at my 2009 trip)

DD had an order of breadsticks, DH had the garlic chicken basket and some fruit , I had the fish basket and DS had......what else.....pizza!:rolleyes1 Sorry I didn't take any photos. Bad Disser!:headache: Everything was very good. We purchased our refillable mugs and then wandered over.....

and finally..

This show is always so much fun! We stayed til the end, singing and dancing and just enjoying ourselves. Once the show was over, we decided we were pooped, and it was time to head back for some rest.

Would the smell be gone when we returned?!:crazy2:

Interesting odor! I sure hope they were able to nip that one in the bud!

Looks like you had a good time over at POR. We love Scat Cat's at POFQ, but have not made it to the show at Riverside. Thinking we need to check that one out sometime. :)

Hope the smell was gone when you returned to your room! Very nice TR. Looking forward to more.

YeeHa Bob's show is great! So much fun. Definitely head over and check it out.

Thank you for joining in. Hope you enjoy the rest. Much more to come.

We returned to the room ready to hit the sack. Opened the door.......
:guilty:still smelly. Not sure anyone from housekeeping even stopped by. Everyone else just got ready for bed. Guess I'm blessed to have the nose that knows! YUK!! I set about trying to locate the source of the smell......:idea:I believe it's the shower curtain! OK....everyone else is asleep! We'll deal with it tomorrow.
We all slept in, guess the vacation and all the driving has caught up with the troops. Around 9:30 we were stirring and decided to head over to grab some breakfast.
Looking off our 2nd floor building towards El Centro and at the little beach right by 8A building

As we were leaving the room, the housekeeper was just outside the door. I asked her to please check into the odor in our room and even told her I believed it was the shower curtain. She said she would check it out. We headed off over to El Centro to see about breakfast.

What a pretty view! So, so, so much better than the Casitas. Oy! Not sure what I would do about that smell though. Yucko!

We headed over to El Centro to check out the Pepper Market and see what we might want for breakfast. Now, you have to understand that I have incredibly picky eaters, and while there were many options to choose from, $14.99 for breakfast for what those 2 birds would eat, just wasn't happening. I am quite sure the food there would have been very good. It all looked wonderful, but having to pay adult prices for kids that don't eat enough to keep a bird alive, really isn't fair. I wish they would have had a regular food court price list there.
Instead, we wandered into Rix Cafe and DH and I had the Egg/Bacon croissant for $6.50 each, DD had a $2.75 muffin and DS had the French Toast Stix platter for $5.69. We also threw in a fruit cup for the fun of it. Total=$26.43. Food was OK-nothing special but much better than paying $60 out of pocket for breakfast and needing to leave a tip besides.
(sorry, no photos-I was not a good food porn Diser)

Looking back toward the Casitas and Convention Center as we made our way back across to our room.

We decided today we would relax and enjoy some pool time with some Lifeguard fun and games. We returned to the room to change.....and the odor was still there! :( The housekeeper merely turned on the fan in the bathroom. By this time, I resigned myself to the fact that nothing was going to be done about the odor. We were all unpacked, I really didn't want to move by this time, so I gave up. We changed into our suits and headed down to the pool.

This is what was happening today:

140.jpg

Hula Hoop contests, "What's In Your Beach Bag", Sandcastle Building and Name That Tune along with Poolside games and Pool Fiesta. Campfire with Smores at 7:15pm

more photos of pool later in the trip but this was a quick one I took before finding myself a lounger

and the kiddie pool

115.jpg

I played the Name That Tune game with my DD and we took the prize!!! Then, I was relaxing as the kids were playing the What's in your Beach Bag game, and before I knew it, other little kids were coming up to borrow items out of my beach bag to try win,:rotfl:I was laughing at the little girls running from person to person asking to borrow items.
About this time it was time for some snack/lunch. I went to the Siestas Pool Bar and filled our mugs and got hot dogs, chicken tenders and some cookies to hold us over til dinner.
DH went for a jog and then took a nap while the kids finished their pool fun. About 5:30 we decided it was time to go shower and get ready to go out for a bite to eat and some evening entertainment.
Where would we go?

Ah! Relaxing by the pool - sounds like a great day to me! I have to agree on those prices at Pepper Market. We did the buffet once, and while the food was good, I would much rather just order something off a menu and not pay a huge fee for some eggs and bread!

Did you catch The Muppets playing that night?

Oh, and congrats on taking the prize in "Name That Tune!"

Oh no! I'm hoping that the nasty smell isn't in the room when you get back from breakfast.
Nope. As you can see, I just gave up. We just kept the bathroom door closed so it wasn't so strong. I think I left a note again at check-out to tell them to change the shower curtain for the next party checking in.

What a pretty view! So, so, so much better than the Casitas. Oy! Not sure what I would do about that smell though. Yucko!
Yeah, it wasn't sweet. Luckily, we really didn't spend much time in the room that didn't involve being asleep.

As you will see, we did not stick around for The Muppets that night. We did see another movie later in the week sitting poolside. Thanks for the congrats. I felt a little guilty answering the questions before the kids. But I just couldn't help myself.:rolleyes1

I love road trip pictures. It probably has to do with the fact that 90% of our trips are done by road trips.

We'll be stopping in Chattanooga on our way back home. We've visited a couple of times during other road trips. It is SOOOO beautiful there. We've never done Ruby Falls though. :( The Aquarium is one of the best I've ever been to and the riverwalk area is so fun and beautiful.

Loving your pictures. ;)

:welcome: Thanks for joining in. It was very pretty in TN. The Dis is a great place to get ideas of things to do on a road trip. And at the cost of airline tickets, :drive: is the only affordable way to get there for a family. Hope you continue to read along and comment.

We were all cleaned up and ready to go. I had an errand I needed take care of. I had forgotten that I needed a complete replacement card for my Disney Reward Card and that I couldn't just call to have them add points. It seems I waited a little too long to have time for them to send one before we were leaving. :guilty: But the nice Customer Service Member said I could take care of that at any Guest Service counter. So, off we went to take care of that.
141.jpg

What better way to torture the children than to go to the Guest Services window at the Magic Kingdom.:rotfl2:

148.jpg

Sorry, no visits to the parks this summer. Maybe next year. But, oh yeah, mom is coming back in September. :dance3:
Rewards card in hand, it was time to go grab a bite to eat and decide what to do for the evening. I told the kids we could do whatever they wanted, Boardwalk for some shows, Poly for a bite to eat and fireworks watching from the beach, or whatever else they thought of.
Fireworks it was!!! So off to the Poly beach we went.

144.jpg

I think we may have decided to take the boat over from the MK, but I can't really remember for sure.

145.jpg

We were getting hungry by then and decided to check out Capt. Cooks for dinner. I had eaten here on another occasion for breakfast and didn't think it was all that bad as far as counter services go.

DH had the fish of the day (it was salmon), I had the Stir Fry Noodles/Chicken, DD had.........grilled cheese :lmao: and DS had a cheeseburger. Total with drinks $35.11.
But what is a little Disney Dinner without desert..........

146.jpg

My DD very favorite desert at Disney! Love that you can get them in the freezers at the resorts. And you can see DS at the register purchasing his desert-I think he got the Kadoozie popscicle. Of course, I headed to the Dole Whip machine. DH professed he was abstaining from desert-until he proceeded to dip a spoon into my Dole Whip! He claims "always better when it's stolen". :duck:

We wandered around the hotel shops a little bit and then decided to head out to find a spot near a speaker for Wishes. And we also were treated to something my kids had never seen before......

Photos were a little out of order on PhotoBucket (imagine that). I went back into my picture library, and discovered we drove to the Poly, ate first, then took the boat over to MK to take care of my Rewards Card, then boated back to the Poly. Sorry. Now back to the photo gallery.

How cool you caught EWP! We love watching this...don't ask me why, we just do. :) Sounds like a great way to spend the evening - Dole Whips and Wishes!

Now onto Wishes. This was our first time watching the fireworks from outside the park.

Fireworks were pretty neat to watch from the beach. You definitely get a different perspective.
After fireworks were done, it was time to head back to the room and crash. We had a big day coming up tomorrow. Stay tuned.....

We love watching Wishes from the Polynesian beach! Have watched from our Tower MK view at Contemporary as well, and still prefer the Polynesian beach! Such a cool perspective!
