The house is quiet now -- a little too quiet

DW and DS left this morning (with MIL) for Florida for a week. Flying to Fort Myers, driving to the Swan for a couple days, then down to Marco Island for the rest of the trip.

It'll be nice to come home to a quiet house -- for about an hour, then it'll be lonely.

Turn on the TV, put some toys around the floor and leave some lights on, then you'll feel like someone is there!

Ahhh...but enjoy the quiet for a while Steve - you never know when you'll get it again!!!!! It does get lonely but you have us to keep you company!!! What more could you ask for!!!

the trick is to find things to do with your time while they're gone. maybe do something you don't normally do when they're home.

awwww Steve!!! just try to avoid eating the mac and cheese out of the pot while standing next to the sink makes you feel even lonelier.

APM -- Ironically, I often eat better when DW and DS are away. I think it's that I have more time to spend cooking, and not chasing around a toddler!

If I didn't have a tee time saturday and have to work and agree to meet some buddies after work saturday and have the church picnic on sunday I'd think about a road trip... ..Busy weekend...

Just made tee times for Sunday. That, combined with classes Fri. night, Sat. morning, Sat. afternoon golf should keep me busy, eh?

What you need to do is get a tape recorder, pick a day and turn it on when no one but you knows. Let it record the clamor (voices, noises, activities). Then when they go out of town again, just turn on the recorder and go about your business....it sounds like there are still with you in the background.
