The house across the street is for sale...

That is an absolutely beautiful home.

The link to the house wont open for me :(

could someone please post it on here for me

Thanks

I think I need to clear something up. I didn't mean to show this house to say that it isn't worth the asking price. Absolutely it is. It will definately sell at that price and if I could afford it I would jump on it!! My post was more of me being surprised that I live next to such an expensive house when I can only get about $339,000 for my house now. Also it was me asking what kind of an income people must have to be able to afford a house like this.

And to the people PM'*** me and the one who posted. I got the copy of this listing from the INTERNET. The same one we're all on now. Guess what, millions of people can see that listing whether I posted it here or not. I have always had under my post where I live. Should I not? Alot of us do.

You know I need to vent alittle. Recently on these boards when someone posts a topic it almost always takes a turn for the worst. Some people go way off topic or take things too seriously. Sometime the OP is attacked for something he/she posted inocently. I'm not saying I was attacked. I'm just saying that some people need to get a grip and carefully read a post brfore they start answering something that wasn't even in the original post. Am I making sense??!! It's too early for this:(

Radiators, Natural Gas, Heated Garage, 18 rooms, 19th century insulation ... forget the mortgage, the utility bills alone would give me a heart condition!

I didn't mean anything offensive by my post. Merely pointing out that you stated that you "lived across the street" from this house. Just pointing out the safety issue, thats all.

We have new homes (& ones less than 5 years old) going for one million+ in our neighborhood. They are no where near as nice as this one! In fact, it's not easy to find an old house that has been completely renovated around here. We live near an exclusive "country club" that has many multi-million dollar homes - nothing old, but most are huge, not necessarily on big lots though.

Wow, what a beautiful home! I also agree that after seeing it, that's not a bad price at all. I wouldn't mind being able to afford it. ;)

I hope you understand I wasn't or didn't want to point the finger at you. I really meant it more to the people who PM'ed me. I'm sorry, I think I was alittle grumpy this morning. I guess I just took offense that people thought I didn't know or care about safety issues. I really didn't see any issue with posting something that was already available on the internet. No hard feelings, right?

I didn't even think about the utilities!!! I could only imagine

Desnik,
I don't know if you post when you plan to go on trips, etc., but I suspect something along those lines is what those who PM'd you were worried about.

Yes, the house is already on the internet, but it is not known to be the house across your street. Who knows who could be reading here-- some potential thief could get the idea to rob you while you're at WDW.

Oh, I just noticed that yes, you do have a countdown in your signature. It never hurts to be cautious.

It absolutely doesn't hurt to be cautious! That is why I deleted where I live in my profile and took the pics of my kids off. I can't do anything about what people have seen or know about me already but I can in the future!
After so many years here on the DIS maybe I'm too comfortable and trusting of those here.

But deleting the town you live in from your profile won't do much good when someone can look up your posts and go so far as finding the house across the street.

To be honest, I totally disagree with the safety concerns voiced above. It is far more risky, in my mind, to be listed in the local telephone book, which provides my full name and my actual address. Heck, the phone book even provides a map.

Anyone who truly wants to get at me can find me easily, and anyone who trolls the Disney Message Board, selects a truly anonymous target who goes by nothing more than a username and a sketchy profile, figures out what house I live across the street from, and comes to get me for no specific reason whatsoever is a special kind of sicko whom I cannot spend my time worrying about, quite simply.

Don't be defensive, you didn't do anything wrong. There is a line between caution and paranoia and I think posting that house was nowhere near paranoia level.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!:teeth:
I actually thought I was going crazy in thinking nothing of what I posted. I thought I wasn't doing anything wrong, then really questioned myself and my trustworthyness(SP? is that a word?)of my fellow Disers!! Am I being picked on here???!!!LOL:crazy:
I guess I can't win!

I can believe it...that is a gorgeous house, huge and on a nice property.

You want to hear something really sick? My grandparents lived in a 1,000 square foot home in Saratoga, CA. A small 3 bed.2bath, no dining room, no living room- just a family room and the bedrooms and baths. It was on a 1/3 of an acre, corner lot. NOTHING was special about the house (except that it was my grandparent's of course!). My grandfather died last April (gramma died in 1991) and my parents sold the house last November for...............................$880,000. I'm not joking. This zip code 95070 is one of the most coveted in the bay area-----if you are bored, check out the real estate for this area....you will see why DH and I high-tailed it out of California and moved to Oregon! So to see that mansion the OP had a link too, 1.4 mill doesn't seem to unreasonable to this warped mind! :p

My Uncle lives in Goshen. I think he used to be a realtor.

That house would go for wayyyyy more in Bucks County.

Desnik, thank you. Nope, absolutely no hard feelings. If anyone knows me here after two years, they know I have lots of fun with the rest of em. But I'm also the cautious type too. Just the latter showing here :D . Have a great night! :wave2:
