The horse girl, her big guy and WDW..a trip report! Update 8/4-Day 10, pg 26!

Day 7

Yes, they were sleeping in those hideous plastic strollers but how comfortable is that and how good of a sleep is that for them? I just felt bad for them b/c I am sure they would rather be back in their room in a soft crib.

ANYWAY, we rode Space Mt and then did a 5 min wait on standby for BTMR. By this time I was a walking zombie..it was almost 12:30!!! We decided to go on SM and then go. They weren't accepting FP’s for this one anymore so we did a 10 min. standby wait. The park had a whole different feeling to it at night..I really liked it. It was also less crowded then I thought it would be. We headed out and caught the bus to SSR. I think I finally crawled into bed close to 2am!!! And we had to be up at 7am b/c DBIL was coming to golf with DH.

OMGosh.....I am exhausted just reading this! Talk about getting a lot done in a day! Wow! That was just grand that MK wasn't busy and you got on all of the rides you wanted! I bet the park was great at night too. The CDS show I heard is just fabulous. I should save up to go someday!
Don't worry about the kids sleeping in the strollers...some can and some can't...it really depends on the child. Oh and cribs aren't soft btw. :rotfl: :rotfl:
One question...how did you get two FP (spl mnt and spa mnt) at the same time? (I mean I know you can do it if the time for the first comes up)

Great update...gee I bet you were tired the next morning! I can't wait to hear all about it!

you're making me wanna go see cirque when we go back in april!!! we've talked about it, but never really seriously considered it.

i can't wait to do evening EMH at MK! we didn't do it in may because it was our first day and we were exhausted after MGM. the disney walkathon conditioning hadn't set in yet! and we really didn't get to experience MK after dark because it didn't get dark until like 8:45 and then wishes started at 9:00....then the park closed. so i'm really looking forward to being there after dark!
Are we going to MK on an EMH day in Sept?? :confused3
I'm finally all caught up. Just thought I'd let you know I'm still here!
Glad you are still reading!! :goodvibes
Wow, Cirque de Soleil, too? How lucky are you? This sounds like it was a truly fabulous honeymoon, and I"m glad you had such a great time. :cutie:

When we were at WDW last August, we tried EMH at Magic Kingdom, and it was a complete zoo! :scared1: I guess it's really just the luck of the draw sometimes.

Sounds like a very full day. Looking forward to more.
We have avoided the EMH until this year....they weren't as bad as I thought for some reason. We'll try them again next year too.

It sounds like you had the BEST Magic Kingdom day! No lines anywhere.

I have got to see a Cirque du Soleil show one of these days!
Definitely save up your money..it's well worth it!! The music is great too!! :thumbsup2

I think the FP return time for the first ride was hours and hours away so they let you get a second FP after like an hour or something. I can't remember..the days blur together!! :rotfl:

Are we going to MK on an EMH day in Sept?? :confused3

they're having evening EMH that sunday. so my hopeful plan is to go to MGM that day, take a break that afternoon, go to the peep meet, back to MGM for fantasmic and then MK for EMH that night. now....that being said......we'll just have to see how tired we all are!

I can do it if you can!!!! Anything that Sat or Mon night?

I can do it if you can!!!! Anything that Sat or Mon night?

there's no saturday night EMH, but there's morning EMH on saturday MGM. since we have an 8:10 ADR at kona, that wouldn't matter to us anyway.

on monday there's morning EMH at AK which i think we're gonna try to take advantage of, then there's evening EMH at MGM, if you're interested since we'll already be gone by then.

Day 8

So the alarm went off for 7am! Ouch..that was a rough one. I told you I can usually bounce out of bed but not that morning. I laid there for a few minutes and then got up and showered. I woke DH up a few minutes later and he flew out of bed. Isn’t that funny how on park days it’s like pulling teeth but on a golf day he‘s up and at em? Huh. Mysterious.

We headed down to Artists Palette to have breakfast. I had heard bad things about this CS and the reports were right. Not so good. The selection was limited and the food wasn’t that great. My eggs were dry (oh the horror!! ) and the potatoes and waffles were as well. DH said his croissant sandwich wasn’t that great either b/c they used cheddar cheese instead of American and it made it bitter he said. With the DDP we had to get two drinks since we don’t get dessert. This was annoying too..what do I want with two drinks at 8am? So I got a diet coke for breakfast and an OJ for whenever. We are supposed to eat here before we catch the Magical Express Monday AM. Ugh. I don’t want too. Maybe we can waste our last CS meal on just a muffin or something. :confused3 You would think for a DVC resort they would have better quality food.

We went to the lobby and waited for DBIL and a mutual friend to show up…they were coming from the friend’s parents’ house in Orlando. They were only a few minutes late and said the signs on Disney property were awesome and they didn’t get lost. The guys had a tee time of 10am over at Eagle Pines. Now when I made this reservation I was under the impression it was $35 with either my DVC card or my AP. That was great for everyone b/c DBIL is cheap like his parents. I had to ride over to the course with them since the DVC was under my name. It was only about 2 miles away and they would just have to bring me back before they teed off. I went to check in and the total was like $50 more then it should have been. The CM told me we had to purchase the golf membership card for $50. WHAT?? :scared1: That was not mentioned when I booked online! DH was mad. Especially b/c he plans on golfing here next Aug. when we come with friends and the card will be expired then. So we stepped aside and tried to figure out a way to reduce the cost. I called the SOG golf courses, Magnolia and Palm , to see if the military discount was cheaper. It was $45 pp which was $5 cheaper pp then if they stayed at Eagle Pines and everyone chipped in for the membership. But the tee time was 2 hours away. Ugh. So we decided to cancel HOB, and just do an earlier dinner to make up the $15 for DBIL. That way the $15 equals what he would have paid at HOB. Now I had to go back to SSR and try to change our Cape May Café ADR to earlier and add two extra persons. The friend's dad and his DBIL wanted to go too.

When I finaly got back to the room I called D.Dining and got a 5:50 ADR for CMC. So now the ADR was for 6 instead of 4. Luckily they had ONE time slot left. Phew. I was still trying for Ohanas instead b/c I think it’s hard to talk and whatnot when everyone is always up at a buffet. But still no luck.

I was still dead tired so I planned to take a nap and hang out in the room until DH called when golfing was over..my guess was about 2pm. We had been trying to get DBIL to go to MGM after golf and we would treat him and Bob, the friend, to a CS late lunch and then we could have dinner. So the only additional cost would be their one day park ticket. Which I know isn’t cheap but how often are you in WDW?? I don’t think DBIL had been in 15 years! But cheapo that he is he said no. Bob seemed interested but of course you can’t force someone to go. So I didn’t know what the plan would be after golf until dinner.

So nap I did for about 2 hours…then I watched Antique Roadshow. Someone had some film cells from Snow White on there that were worth about $3K each. Another person had a saddle from the Civil War worth about $25K. How come I don’t have this stuff floating around my attic? I also watched CNN which I don’t normally watch. It just shows so much negative stuff about the world. Yes, I realize the world is full of hate right now but while I am in Disney I would prefer not to think about it. Deny, deny.

DH got back around 2:30. DBIL and Bob had decided to go back to Bob’s parents’ and shower..then meet us at CMC around 5:30. I was still trying for Ohanas for all of us with no luck. Oh well. DH and I talked about what to do for the 3 hours before we met up with DBIL again. The only thing I could think of was another round of mini-golf. The boys had planned to go to DD after dinner for awhile and I didn’t want to go twice.

I knew DH was tired but he still went willingly back to Winter Summerland so we could play the “summer” course. We considered going to Fantasia Gardens but we weren’t sure how to get there. My guidebook just said it was near the Swan but I didn’t know if that meant we could walk there from the hotel. So back to Blizzard Beach we went.

0133.jpg

It was hot!! I had been in the hotel since 10am and now it was 3pm…the humidity had tripled in those 5 hours!! But I managed to beat DH by 3 strokes. One away from the course record. I guess I play better in the heat. The plan next was to meet DBIL, Bob, his dad and future BIL at CMC. DBIL called around 5 and said they were leaving in a few minutes and where was he supposed to go. I said head twds. Epcot and then follow signs to the Yacht and Beach Club Villa. Easy. We headed over there from BB via bus and get there about 5:30. As we figured DBIL called and asked where to park at our hotel. What?? We told him we were meeting at the BC! DH and I don’t know how he got his Masters degree..he certainly doesn’t seem so bright. We also told him about 5 times to park near check-in but kept getting asked where to park over and over. I actually think DBIL comes off as cocky and doesn’t think he needs to listen to, or write down, directions someone gives him. I wasn’t a big fan of him when I first met DH but he has grown on me. Now that he moved to NC it’s been great!!! ;) Anyway, by the time they got there we were ten minutes late for the ADR but were seated right away.

CMC is my favorite traditional style buffet b/c I love clams!!! I was a little nervous b/c of what happened at H & V but the food at CMC is better quality. There is also more of a selection so I am not stuck eating whatever is there. Here’s a pic of DBIL with his overflowing plate.

0163.jpg

I guess it’s kinda hard to see but he will pile a plate full and about 5 inches high. He had two of these plates plus an overflowing dessert one. The joke is that I could never eat like that b/c I hate food touching. I also like to eat one thing and move on to the next…that kind of mess would throw me for a loop!! Either way, DBIL got his money’s worth at the buffet.

Now he still owes DH for some of his share of that golf membership. Hmm. At the end of the meal Bob’s dad paid for everyone (except us since we were on the DDP) So now DBIL has an extra $25 right? You would think he would pay up. Nope. Cheap %&*). DH never thought to ask him for it b/c he assumed he would pay as soon as he realized that dinner was free. Nope. Nada. That’s why I go crazy dealing with is family. CHEAP!! :headache:

The food was great as usual..the cornbread here is to die for. I can’t remember WCC’s cornbread but I think this is better. I filled up on that and the steamed clams as usual. I tried the tomato bisque soup but it wasn’t that good. I didn’t go for any meat..only b/c that is what tends to upset my stomach. Besides, I was here for clams!! :thumbsup2 I think I had 4 plates of them!! For dessert I had the cheesecake and the strawberry mousse. Very good as well. Another great buffet we will be back for.

After dinner Bob’s dad drove everyone over to Pleasure Island. They are all big drinkers where as DH and I don’t drink at all. And you know I hate PI. So I was pretty pumped!!;) We wandered around in the sea of cattle. It was still hot and DH was dead tired..but he didn’t say anything. We went into Virgin records and I got Walt Disney’s biography. I had seen it at Art of Disney but wanted to get it at World Of Disney to use my discount. Well they didn’t have it a few days ago so I bought it here. Same price..just no 10% off. Then they had some beers while DH and I just stood around. BORING! I know we are still in Disney but PI is not Disney to me…so it wasn’t fun.

Finally DH said we were going over to Downtown Disney and they said they were going to take off anyway. Phew. We headed over there and stopped in World of Disney again. We had been back and forth about getting bratty niece a souvenir. The last 3 times we bought her presents we never got a thank you and she even threw the game we gave her on Xmas b/c she didn’t want it. And she was never reprimanded either. Lovely. But in the end I bought her a Princess magnetic storybook. I doubt she will chuck it since it is Princess related. But let me just tell you I did not want to get her anything. She also turns up her nose and walks away when we say hi to her..again no one says anything. so our secret deal is we will not give her the gift if she doesn't say hi to us. Why would we reward her after she just snubbed us?? Anyway, it was around 10pm when we finally walked back to the room. Up next our last day!!

See, this is part of the reason we will never vacation with other families. When we're at WDW, we want to do what we want, when we want...I know it's selfish but there you go!:lmao: Fortunate that it was only for the one day.

Didn't I hear you say that darling sil wants to vacation with you in a few years?

you sound like a friend of mine from high school. he could NOT have any food touching and he'd always eat each thing one at a time and in alphabetical order! for example, if he had corn, chicken and beans, he'd eat the beans first, then the chicken, then the corn. wierd! i don't think you're that anal....that just reminded me of him!

we didn't get a chance to go to PI and you're making me think we didn't miss anything. although we are gonna try to hit the adventurer's club next time because it seems pretty cool. i don't think we'll be into any of the other stuff, though.

My plate would look exactly like your BIL's at that buffet!!! My eyes are always WAYYYY bigger than my stomach.

I agree about PI. Who needs bars and drunk people when you can hang with Mickey and ride rides?

She is planning a trip in 2013..the week after Xmas. (Yes, you read that right..2013!) Too bad we'll probably be there the week before Xmas, leaving on the 27th. DVC points skyrocket on the 24th I think. Too bad we'll miss them!! ;)

I don't have to eat it alphabetically though!!
AC looks weird to me...like maybe they put you on the spot, or heckle you, something I hate. I also don't like the interaction..I would rather sit and watch a show!

Exactly!!!! :cloud9:

Day 9

We got up one last time around 8 and got ready to head over to MGM. There were only a few attractions we wanted to see again. Mainly TOT, RNRC and The Great Movie Ride. What a difference in park attendance from when we were there last Sunday!!! I assume it was b/c Star Wars Weekends were over. We rode RNRC first with a 10 min wait and then grabbed a FP for TOT. There was only a 20 min wait but most of it was in the sun and it was hot already! :headache: We then headed over to the Great Move Ride and had another 10 min. wait. After that we trekked back over to TOT (DH did not appreciate all the back tracking!! ) and rode TOT. This time I didn’t hold on to anything except the handlebars on the seats. I guess I was an idiot the last few times I rode b/c I never noticed them..they blend in so well with the black seats! Duh!!! We also grabbed another FP for RNRC.

By this time is was 11am and we decided on TSPP again for lunch. We had originally wanted to try Backlot Express but it didn’t open until 11:30 and a burger that late would not make me hungry again for Ohanas at 5. So TSPP again it was. I just want you too experience what we did while we were eating. In fact, this exact thing happened last Sunday too but I didn’t think to snap a picture..until now. It's also the event I warned you about..the one that topped the stroller stealing lady!! There was a family eating behind us when we sat down and they left this mess when they were done.

Can you believe it?? What lazy and rude people!!! The kind of people that think they are above carrying a tray of trash to the garbage and dumping it. Oh wait. Carrying is an exaggeration. How about turning around in their chairs and dumping it? Yeppers readers. Here is an enlargement of how close the trash can was to them.

0223.jpg

Unbelievable. I wish I had seen them later in the park to ask them about it. I felt bad for the CM that was going to have to clean it up. I actually thought about doing it by DH said the CM’s are probably used to it and let it go. I just can’t believe how lazy our society is.

We headed over to Sounds Dangerous. We missed it last year and it was closed last Sunday for the Star Wars Weekend. Well we should have kept on walking. It was very pointless to me and only served as a 12 min. break in A/C. I’m not sure why Disney hasn’t replaced this attraction with something else. Definitely pass it by if you are short on time.

By this time our FP’s were almost up for RNRC. While we were in the FP line there was a guy and his daughter wondering why the line was moving so slow. Right next to use was the single rider line so they thought they could sneak in there. I don’t think they knew what it was really…they just saw a faster moving line and snuck in. A few minutes later when we were getting ready to get our row assignment I saw their turn come up in the single rider line. When the dad realized it wasn’t a FP line he freaked out saying his daughter could not ride alone. By this time she had already been assigned a row and was in her seat (same car as us) The dad wanted them to release the harness and let her out but it was too late. I kinda felt sorry for him b/c maybe they didn’t realize what would happen but then again, if they had just been patient it wouldn’t have happened. And since we were in the same car as his daughter he obviously didn’t save any time. His daughter was about 9 and didn’t seem bothered about riding alone.

As I do every time we are on RNRC I have to check out my clothes in the black light. The shirt I was wearing had brown stains all over the front and collar. Nasty!! Of course they are invisible to the naked eye. Still gross.

After RNRC we got another FP for TOT to use after dinner and then decided to head back to the hotel until Ohanas. We heard thunder rumbling so we figured it was a good time to get going. We waited about 10 minutes for the bus and the sky turned black. No rain yet though.

When we got back to the room I took a 2 hour nap and DH watched ESPN. Then we showered and got ready for Ohanas. We planned to take the bus to MK and then the monorail to the Polynesian. It still hadn’t rained yet but the sky was still dark.

It was about 4:45 when we got to Ohanas and they open for dinner at 5. There was a line of about 20 people waiting to check in. DH took a seat while I waited. Finally I got up there and told them I was willing to wait for a window seat. By this time the thunder was very loud and we had seen lightening so I thought it would be cool to watch a T-storm over Bay Lake.

We were seated in about 5 min. and had the same server as last time, Debbie. Although she didn’t remember us. Not even when we told her we were there last Sat. Oh well. Just as we sat down the sky opened up and it poured. Not just the 15 min afternoon storms that come everyday but a real Florida storm. I couldn’t even see the Grand Floridan next door at one point. I was scared Fantasmic would be canceled and since we had missed it a week ago I had my heart set on it! The food was delicious as usual but the server wasn’t the great. I don’t know if being on the DDP makes a difference (although it hadn’t so far) but Debbie was not as attentive as she had been last Saturday. Her “helper” didn’t seem to want to be there either. I asked for a refill on chips and still didn’t have them 10 minutes later so I asked Debbie. She brought them out in a few minutes and then the helper brought some. Sorry buddy….20 minutes later doesn’t cut it for me. Like I said, it wasn’t bad service but not the greatest either. But then again I put WDW service on a pedestal since we have had such great luck before. We were wishing we were back at Trails End with Gary! Here is a pic of me eating my favorite dessert!!!!

032.jpg

It was still raining an hour later when we finished out meal. We decided to go back to the room again to kill an hour or so and then try to decide if Fantasmic would still be on. At about 8pm it was sprinkling and I saw a far away patch of sun coming out way. We decided to head over to MGM and see what was going on. By the time we got there it was about 8:15 and then sky had cleared up quite a bit. People were being seated for Fantasmic so I was pretty thrilled about that. It isn’t my favorite show by far…I like Wishes and the SpectroMagic parade better, but I also didn’t want to miss it. So we grabbed a seat close to the middle rows. I also made DH buy me a bucket of caramel corn!

0283.jpg

I had the huge bucket at Fantasmic last year and it was quite the treat. I had waited all week for this one!! It seems that you can only buy it in the concessions area during Fantasmic. I forgot to take a picture until it was half gone!! I also got the Lemon Shock frozen treat. I love lemonade and thought this would be delicious but it was way too sour. I figured it would be since it had “shock” in the name but I had to try. :confused3

The show was great and it had stopped sprinkling about 5 minutes before it started. The storm had also dropped the temps about 20 degrees and I was actually freezing!! After the show we high tailed it out of there to beat the stampede. I think we left about 30 seconds early and it made all the difference. We thought about using the FP’s for TOT but didn’t know what I would do with my popcorn container so we just left the park. Neither of us minded…we were still pretty beat.

We got back to the hotel around 10:30pm and I realized that I had not received any Magical Express info. that AM. So I called the desk and they told me I was scheduled for pickup at SSR at 9:30am. Sounded good to me! It would give us time to use our last CS credit at AP. Although maybe that's not so good. ;)

Up next..we say goodbye. :sad2:

There was a family eating behind us when we sat down and they left this mess when they were done.

Unbelievable.

   :furious: i can't believe that. i used to work in food service and it just burns me up when people treat workers in that industry like gum on the bottom of their shoe. that work is very grueling and frustrating and usually not that rewarding.....imagine cleaning up food after people you don't even know! it's not fun. and it just burns me up!!!!

okay. sorry. rant over. that's a sore spot for me...obviously.

the end??? say it ain't so! :sad1: at least you're going back soon though!

You had my dream morning at MGM, going back and forth between ToT and RnRC!

So funny about the black lights in RnRC. It reminds me of the dumb college parties I went to where they would have black lights all over the place. I always had some gross stuff on my shirt and/or pants that would show up in the black light. That did NOT help me pick up boys!:rotfl:

Hi! Great updates! I agree about the people who didnt bus their table...what kind of message are they giving their kids too? Terrible. I can't believe that about the golf card.
We were at O'Hana's during a torrential downpour too...it lasted about an hour but everything smelled so fresh and clean afterwards.
Can't wait to hear more about Fantasmic....hey, can I have some carmel corn too? popcorn::

It seems like many people use their vacation at WDW as an excuse to be complete unmannerly slobs. Didn't their mamas bring them up better? ;)

I'm sad to see your report coming to an end, but am glad you had such a wonderful time. :flower3:

Not too long till you're back, right?

It's ok to rant...that's why I included the lovely pics!!! That's what's wrong with society today...no one is brought up with manners anymore!!

Yep! Back in sept!!! :goodvibes

Wow! I was sooooo far behind!

Just wanted to say all caught up!

And that I think stroller-stealing trumps trash-leaving. I agree that our society is one of entitlement....there's nothing "wrong" with bad behavior for most folks anymore. Thanks for calling a spade a spade. :thumbsup2

I'm also a little nervous and hope my boy is on his bestest behavior at LeCellier in Sept so you don't go all Super Nanny on me!

And....it looks like you guys went to the parks every day except golf day? Very ambitious! I have only scheduled 3 rope drops in Sept. due to lack of early risers in our group. I'm very impressed that you guys got in so much park time. :)

OK.....ready for more...... popcorn::

We're early risers so I guess it didn't phase us. We also didn't go commando through the parks..I think that helps!!

Don't worry about your son!! I do complain a bit about kids in public but not about them..more about the parents and their lack of parenting!! It's hard when it's been my job for over a decade. As long as your son doesn't throw his food or jump up and down on the seats I will be fine  Besides, I am your guest ;)

LAST DAY!! :sad2: :sad2:

I woke up on my own about 15 minutes before my alarm went off and so did DH. We showered and finished packing up…boy the were the bags heavy with all the soveniers in them! We had bought the Mickey silverware set and that didn’t help to keep the bags light. ;) DH was not happy about towing the bags (we had 4 check and 2 carry on) all the way to the ME bus stop. It’s only a 5 minute walk but the bags were awkward. We only had $1 in cash left so it wasn’t enough to call for help and be able to tip. So we trudged along. And DH was very crabby!!! When we got there we stored our bags with bell services and went to have breakfast. I really dislike AP. I can guarantee we will not use a CS there again. I grabbed a muffin and a diet coke and told them to just use a CS credit b/c that’s all I had left. She said I needed to get a juice and a fruit as well. I grabbed and apple and told her I didn’t want the juice since I still had some left from Sat. AM. She said I needed the juice. I told her to just ring it up as if I had bought it. She had to go get help from another CM but finally did it. I just think the service and food isn’t that great. The problem is they have the gift shop CM’s ringing up the food as well and I don’t think they know what they are doing. So it will be a red X on this place next trip. I guess I just expected better from a “deluxe” resort. :confused3

Dh had a similar problem when he went up for his food. He got a croissant sandwich, coke and an ice tea. The same cashier told him he could only get a juice for his 2nd drink, not the ice tea, but she let it slide. I guess I find it all confusing and I wish they would make it clearer what is allowed at each CS restaurant. Grr. :headache:

When we were done we had about an hour to wait for the bus. I didn’t mind though…you must know by now I hate to be rushed. So we sat out by bell services and people watched. It made me very sad to watch all the families just starting their trip and leaving the check in with their room assignments. I also noticed a young family waiting at the ME bus stop. They had been there since before we got there and still had not been picked up. Finally they told one of the CM’s they had been waiting since 7:30 for the 8:30 bus and it hadn’t come. (It was 9am now) From what I could tell they had been forgotten so a CM personally took them to the airport. I thought that was very nice!! :goodvibes

At about 9:25 we pulled our bags from storage and headed over to the bus stop.

Apparently the bus leaves at 9:30, not arrives, so I started wondering where it was. Only 5 minutes to load 3 families? By 9:45 it still wasn’t there and more families had arrived for the 10am bus. I was getting a little irritated at being forgotten again and called ME. They put me on hold for about 5 minutes and finally said that the bus had filled up at Riverside and would be delayed. She also said I could get on the 10am bus if I wanted. You better believe I was! Our flight out wasn’t until 12:15 but I wanted to see if we could get upgraded to first class.

At about 10:05 the bus finally arrived…or should I say buses. Two of them back to back. We jumped on the first one, which was super full, and headed out. I was still pretty sad and tried to think about coming in September and next August. Last year when we left I had no idea when we would be able to return. Having another trip in the works definitely helped!! :thumbsup2

We got to the airport at about 10:45 and checked in. The lines for check-in and security weren’t that bad. There was a lady in line in front of us at the checked baggage drop off who told her daughter she wanted a wheelchair to bypass the security line. WHAT??? Sure enough she went and got one and cut ahead of about 30 people to go through the wheelchair accessible line. I couldn’t believe it. I wanted to call her out on it so bad but held my tongue. Later she was on the tram with us (I guess, once again, that cheating the system didn’t save much time) and was still using the wheelchair. Probably to board first. I swear, one day I am going to write a book about bad manners and laziness in this country.

We were once again able to get our upgrades to first class and tried to enjoy it while it lasted. This would be the last time we would be able to cash in with the Navy ID. The plane had leather seats this time so DH was quite excited. I got the same lemon cookies for a snack. We had about a 2 ½ hour flight in front of us and to be honest, I was happy to be getting home. I really missed my dogs. But I also had to go home to 3 days of work right away which I wasn’t happy about.

We landed on time and waited for DH's dad to pick us up. Our trip was officially over. Next up some closing thoughts and what I may or may not do different next August!! :wizard:
