Day 9 – Wednesday, 9th August 2007 – Magic Kingdom, Islands and Epcot
It was a struggle getting everyone up and the first park of the day was Magic Kingdom.
We went on Big Thunder, Pirates, Splash, Swiss Family then across to Space Mountain which we fast passed. Then IASW and Philamagic, then back to do Space Mountain. I never can understand why people just don’t fast pass lines, Space Mountain has one of the worse lines in the dark I have ever seen.
We had lunch in the Galactic Café. I fancied the corned beef and sweet potato, sounded nice but it was Kosher food. Then I thought why not try it, it arrived with everything wrapped totally separate which was usual and took me quite a while to get into. It was okay but did taste a bit funny. Everyone else had chicken burgers and none were envious of my meal.
Afterwards we went on Stitch, before leaving the park the eldest had a pineapple drink from the dole whip place. Me and the youngest watched a parade – family one – and then we left the park via the ferry to go back to the hotel.
At the hotel we quickly got changed and went down to the pool. We had a swim and a rest, plus a yummy strawberry smoothie. Then we walked to Islands.
They went on Dr Doom. Then we had about 4 goes on Popeye which was class. Once we got stuck and a little lad got a direct spout of water directly on his head which was funny. Totally the wrong place to stop for him. We had a go on Dudley Do Rights, with the youngest being forced to the front by the hubbie. The youngest was promptly soaked by a mini tidal wave that engulfed the boat.
We then went back to the hotel and got changed into dry clothes and had a sub for tea. After tea we went down to Epcot and had a walk around some of the countries before watching Epcot’s excellent firework display.
On the way back we got the car some petrol. The hubbie gets quite ratty if any of us mention the petrol is getting low. However, after nearly running out of petrol a couple of years ago on a lonely road heading back to Sanford airport, I don’t blame any of us for getting anxious if he starts to run the petrol down a bit.
We then went back to the hotel and bed.
Photos to follow.
