Day 7 – Monday, 6th August – Universal, Islands, Mall of Millennia and Sea World
We started the day well, and were heading either for Islands or Universal that morning.
We decided on Universal and with having FOTL passes the lines were not a problem after a slightly later arrival than usual. We went on The Mummy, Jaws and Men in Black. The kids did several circuits on MiB.
The eldest was hungry so we took him to that Cheesefactory shop
near the entrance to Universal and experienced here some really grumpy service from one of the women there. She looked like she was in a right mood. The eldest just had a tuna croissant sandwich whilst we settled for drinks.
Afterwards we walked to Islands and had great fun on the Popeye Bilge Boat Rapids ride. Naturally we all got soaked but it was welcome in the heat. We had our fill of this ride before moving to Dudley Do Right. The normal line was showing an hour and a half wait but we took only 10 minutes which was class. I don’t think we could have got much wetter but somehow we did.
We watched the new ski show and drip dried where we stood. Afterwards we headed back to the room and had lunch by the pool and a swim. We managed to get loungers by the pool and the grill. For lunch I had chilli chicken wraps which were nice.
After lunch we headed over to the Mall of Millenia. The lads and hubbie bought some Hollister stuff whilst I went in the Apple Shop and played around on the computers.
Shopping done, we headed to Sea World and had a good time in the park. We saw turtles, birds, stingrays, dolphins, manatees, gators, fish, sharks, horses and a donkey.
The hubbie got his free drink from the Budweiser area before we went to the Clyde & Seymour Show – Evening. As usual the mime artist was excellent and had everyone laughing. We enjoyed this show where it depicts other Sea World shows in a tongue and cheek way. I love the walrus in it.
We then went to see Shamu Rocks which was a new show and was excellent. Far better than the Believe show and I am glad they have reinstated the Rock type of show. Last year it was only the Believe show they offered when we were there.
Just near the Shamu Stadium there is a little café, I think it is something like Mango Joe’s or something like that. Anyway we had a snack in here, me and youngest chips, the eldest chicken strips and chips and the hubbie a massive chocolate cake.
Afterwards we left the park fairly quickly, there was a weather warning being announced on the tannoy system telling everyone to head for cover. The hubbie legged it, leaving us behind. I didn’t have the energy to dash and as it happened no downpour came then in any case.
The horrors ****y trapped the dashboard of the car with a nasty sticky green thing then got the hubbie to wipe the dashboard with his hand. He wasn’t impressed when he got it stuck on his hand. The horrors high 5ed each other, it was their revenge for their Dad running off.
We managed to get back to the hotel before the rain started. The eldest nipped out to ring his American chums and we just chilled out before bed.
