Day 14 – 13th August 2007 – Universal
part of Orchid Court ceiling
We had another breakfast in the Orchid Lounge before walking to Universal Studios. It was quite a bit later than normal because we had slept in but with having FOTL passes it didn’t cause us any problems.
We went on T2 first. My feet were still causing me problems and I could only walk slowly. For the first time we went in the Horror Make Up Show which I had been trying to do since Joh gave it a glowing report a couple of years ago. It was so funny and a definite must do. We couldn’t believe that we had not gone in before, this being our 6th visit to Orlando. Still it is nice to discover something ‘new’. The hosts selected a middle aged Chinese looking woman called Sally and she was an absolute star, she had everyone in stitches and the one laughing the most was her husband who could hardly keep his camera still as he filmed the antics. Sally jumped at the ‘moments’. Be warned though they pick from the people who don’t volunteer to go on stage, I will be making sure I am in the back next time I go in.
Afterwards we went on ET and MiB before having lunch. Then Jaws (not on the wet seats), Earthquake and The Mummy. Again the temperature was red hot and as a result I struggled walking back to the hotel. So much so I had a nap when we did get back, the cool room also helped to cool us down after the soaring temperatures. We followed the cool down with a swim and a sunbathe.
Then we headed over to the new Prime Outlets which looked similar to the Premium Outlets. I bought some flip flops which helped with my walking, basically I could walk a lot easier because the blisters on the sides of my little toes where not getting rubbed. We popped in a few shops but were not really after anything. On the way back we went in the big Bass Outdoor Shop. It was massive and a wide range of goods. I bought some presents for family, the hubbie and eldest bought flip flops.
We went in KFC for tea, where I very much enjoyed the biscuits (plain scones) with the chicken instead of chips. After tea we had a round of golf at the Pirate Cove up I Drive then back to the hotel and bed.
