The Newlyweds do disney June 2012

Hi guys!

This is my second attempt of the pre-trippie! Started the first one a week ago but with all the wedding plans going on and busy in work I just haven’t had time to get it finished... lets scrap that one and start again! :-)

So back to today, shopping done, house is clean and dog is walked! As I sit here now the rain is lashing against the window so what a perfect opportunity to put together a proper pre trippie to share with you our past (trips to disney) present (what going on now) and future (disney trip in 65 days from today)

before I go into that... I think this is the part where I introduce the cast!

The Past

Myself and DF have been together since college, so around 12 years, In 2008 before we made the plunge to buy our first home we made a decision while lying in bed one night TO BOOK OUR FIRST TRIP TO DISNEY! I had £4,000 saved from student load and DF had some savings! So by 12pm the next day our trip was booked!

The engagement

Being together for 8 years at this time I thought this was the perfect opportunity to get down and one knee and as DF to marry me! So onto the web and browsing the forums I was after ideas on how to propose, I didnt want to do the usual restaurant or in front of the castle proposal, I wanted something a little more private but different, and thats when I thought to make a day of it!

With never being to disney and not really planned a holiday like this I was pretty happy with what I managed to do:

I booked the crystal for breakfast on the day as DF has got a bit of an obsession with winnie the pooh so I thought that would be perfect. We then spent the day in MK spotting characters and just taking in the magic, early afternoon we headed back to the WDW Swan where we were staying and spent an hour around the pool, We then got ready for a meal I booked at Artist Point, where we had a wonderful meal with personalised menu's! From here we caught the boat over to OKW where I had booked the last carriage ride of the day, the dark clouds were swooping in and I as hoping the trip wouldn’t be stopped because of rain, luckly it wasnt, we headed off through the forest in the carriage with thunder and lighting – lighting up the whole forest (picture of sleepy hollow) :-\

The carriage driver then stopped the carriage on the water front and passed over a bag quoting 'I think someone dropped' It was a Cinderella glass slipper on a flower cushin which I then sneakly placed the ring in and asked DF to marry me! (there was no down on one knee sadly as the carriage was a little small and it was dark and about to tip down with rain) but it was definitely remerable!

We then caught the boat over to Mk and watched the fireworks as we were coming across the lake! (definitely some pixie dust there)

we then got back to the hotel room where I had arranged tow disney glasses, a bottle of champaign and rose petals in a heart shape on the bed (luckily she said yes aye) for us to celebrate on our return

The Present

So we are 4 years older (both 27) and its around 2 months to the wedding, its been a real hard build up to the wedding as 3 weeks before christmas (DF) father was diagnosed with Stage 4 Bowel cancer. So this was a terribly upsetting time for us and it was hard work trying to plan the wedding and honeymoon not knowing if it was going to be cancelled or brought forward (at some stages it looked like the honeymoon and wedding may not happen as DF would be too upset if the worst happened before the wedding)

now today DF father is fighting the disease and doing well on chemo, doctors are pleased with his progress and we are starting to focus now on a wonderfull day and honeymoon! :-)

Now more than ever we are looking forward to our 18 days in Disneyworld!

The wedding plans are just about there.. DF has got her dream day and so have I, Horse and Carriage, church and family around us! (Pics will be provided after the honeymoon)

So whats left to do before the wedding (I only mention the honeymoon list has I dont want to bore you anymore with wedding chat)

ESTA's
New Suticases
Some new holiday clothes
Final planning
Bring all the plan together
Spend a few more hours / days crawling the dibb for extra ideas :-)

The future

I got round to it finaly :-) so this is the bit where I tell you what I have planned for the honeymoon – well by now you should have guessed we are going to WDW..yaye!! (though DF doesnt know where we are going – it all a big suprise)

I will keep the daily events short as I'm sure you’ve finished that cup of tea by now... I have!

Im going for a more relaxing trip this time as we have been once before and

23 June 2012 – Day -1

Not a travel or disney day THE DAY – up early... church ,wedding bells, reception bed (ready for the disneymoon :-D )

24 June 2012 – Day 0

We will be travelling from south wales to the gatwick Hilton, I have booked us a night in the south terminal along with parking for 18days (Cost around £140 for both)

May do twilight check in – whats the best chances of getting a honeymoon upgrade ? (unlikely I know)

last time we caught the national express which was ok but prefer something more relaxing for our honeymoon!

25 June 2012 – Day 1

Planning on waking up after a GOOD night sleep as im sure after the wedding we will be shattered, heading over to V lounge in wait for our 11:15 flight

Nothing planned on our arrival, though I have booked magic express to take us to POR where we will be staying for the majority of the trip. (I've emailed ahead to request a nice room as its our honeymoon) (worth a try)

26 June 2012 – Day 2

As we will still be in UK time I have booked breakfast for 08:05 at Tusker house and then planning an early ride on the jungle safari! (anyone know what time we should get to it after tusker house?)

We will then have a walk around the park and take it all in, we only done half day here last visit and dont think we appreciated like we should of.

We will the head back to POR for a relax around the pool before heading to MK for a meal at Cinderella's table at 7:50pm then catch the fireworks and head back to POR for some rest (I know this is a long first day but I wanted it to be a good one)

27 June 2012 – Day 3

The plan today is EPCOT – the only day ive got down to stay in one park, so probably aim to get here late morning after a relax around the hotel first thing.

ADR is booked at Via Napolli this evening

28 June 2012 – Day 4

Still following the relaxing trip plan ive planned to o to Typhoon Lagoon for a few hours this morning, we are then heading to HS for the afternoon and evening.

ADR is booked at hollywood brown derby this evening

29 June 2012 – Day 5

Today is going to be a shopping and rest day – im not going to take many clothes out so hopefully grab some bargains today then hang around POR pool and have a meal in boatwrights in the evening (maybe catch a film on the green in POR)

30 June 2012 – Day 6

1 week anniversary – I thought this should also be a special day, so ive booked a champaign balloon ride over orlando for the morning, we are then heading to DTD for food at Ragland road at 4pm!

After a trip back to POR and some pool time we are booked in for the desert party at MK

1 July 2012 – Day 7

Another park hoping day, we are headingto HS in the morning and have a lunch reservation at sci-fi dine in

We will the head across to epcot to wonder around world showcase in the evening

ADR booked for this evening in Tappan Edo! Yum

2 July 2012 – Day 8

So we are nearly half way through the trip and we havent had a day in MK, so today we will spend the morning and afternoon here, no ADR's booked for today so we will grab a counter service meal in MK then head to DTD in the evening for a wonder around – maybe got to wolf gang pucks for evening meal!

3 July 2012 – Day 9

As the park will be getting even busier from today the plan is to spend the morning in Blizzard beach, I have booked an ADR at Call grill in the evening so we can see the 4th july fireworks without the crowds!

4 July 2012 – Day 10

Wasnt sure what to do for today, last time we were here on 4th july we spent a day around the pool then went to a packed DTD in the evening.

The plan is to spen morning / afternoon in Animal Kingdom, I have then booked a table at La Hacienda in the evening to hopefully get a good view of illuminations from the restaurant.

5 July 2012 – Day 11

Another relaxing day – morning planned at DTD shops, then back to POR, I have booked a meal at 1900 park fayre for the evening

6 & 7 July 2012 – Day 12/13

This is a last minute plan which im left to action... going to stay a night at a universal hotel and spend 2 full days at univeral / IOA

8 July 2012 – Day 14

A relaxing morning aound the pool, then an afternoon in MK for some rides and a wander around no ADRs booked this day

9 July 2012 – Day 15

spend the day in HS then a meal booked in Citricos in the night.. then watch MK fireworks from the beach (if ive got the hotel right)

10 July 2012 – Day 16

nothing planned for today.. any suggestions, other than a catchup day to things we have missed

11 July 2012 – Day 17

Spend the day in DTD before evening flight home :-(

12 July 2012 – Day 18

Collect a very tired doggy and have some sleep! Ooo and open wedding gifts :-)

So this is it for now, im sure it will change bit between now and the trip, heres a plan ive created... not completely accurate... but not far off!
