Day 3 – DD1’s Birthday

A better nights sleep, up early and down to breakfast shortly after 7 – in the Parkside Diner this morning – headed back to the room and texted DH – they were due to meet us outside at 7.45 but were running late – we were able to watch out our window for them walking round from Sequoia – didn’t get to the park until after 8.30 and only had 30 mins of EMH before park opening at 9am.

Went straight to Buzz and had two goes, then did IASW, teacups and Carousel before going into the castle again (and got to hear the sleeping suit of armour)

after this we headed to the studios were there was a queue to get in (never had that happen before!) walked towards Toy Story Playland and realized Buzz was coming out for a meet and greet – joined the queue and had a fantastic time here – DS had on his Buzz top and that provided great interaction as well as Buzz noticing DD1’s birthday badge.

after this we met Donald and then went on into ToyStory Playland – DD’s, DH and I all wanted to go on the Parachutes (50 min wait) but DS didn’t want to go so I took him on Slinky (40 min wait) – after we came of we were waiting to see if we could see the others on the parachutes but then DS needed the toilet we came back just as they were coming off so we didn’t get to see them ride or take any photos of them on it! We wandered round past Rex and out through the Parisien street.

Grabbed something to eat and then went to Stitch live – although this was our 4th time there this was the 1st time we have seen this –all of us really enjoyed this.

We split up after this as the boys wanted to go to Moteurs so the girls did some pics

and then went to the art of animation (only the end bit as DD1 wanted to learn how to draw mickey but this wasn’t on) we did a bit more looking round the shops and then staked our spot for Stars and Cars – DH and DS joined us before the parade started and we were in a great spot to see the stage show from the side as well as meeting lots of characters.

After this we went back to the hotel as DD1 wanted to go ice skating – all the kids wanted to go and I ended up going with them!

Kids had a ball, I fell once and managed to come home with some spectacular bruises! While we were doing this there was a small platform being built between the rink and the steps up towards the lake – there was a group that came out to have their photos taken with Mickey. The bar in the hotel had been closed for two hours for a private function that these people were at – something to do with sport I think.

Back to the room and I had hoped to go back to the park before our booking for Café Mickey but we didn’t make it – had a rest in the room and then the girls got their princess dresses on and DS got his Buzz outfit on and we headed off for our booking – we had to stand outside for quite a while before being seated and we ended up with a table for four with a seat stuck on the end which didn’t leave us a lot of room – we did have good interaction – Stich came over not long after we were seated and then we also had Mickey, Chip and Dale, Eeyore and Friar Tuck.

Highlight was of course Mickey bringing birthday cake out. Back to the hotel and bed after this as we were all shattered!

We arrived on this day - it was bright, cold and busy! I think the sports group would have been Zinedine Zidane doing some charity work. He was in the DLH at about 1.30 and was there to watch the parade at 5.00 with a big group of people.
