My DH has a convention at the Hilton - across from DTD - can someone give me an uodate on this hotel - what I have read is not so good - we have no choice on moving unless it is terrible - any help??

Thanks

I would go back to the Hilton in a heartbeat :confused3 I have never read any negatives on it.

We had great rooms, great pool area, executive lounge access and great service....and literally across the crosswalk from DTD. It has Disney perks, character breakfast, numerous restaurants...........

Maybe you are thinking of the other resort "right across from DTD" -- the Grosvenor. It has negative reputation, so much so that it is being rehabbed and they are changing it's name.

Everything I have read on trip advisor says that it is old and outdated and that the bathrooms are not nice with much need of work and repair as is the carpet - are these wrong or has the update been done?

I wouldn't particularly trust trip advisor. It has a rather "sterling" reputation of being a place to make unwarranted gripes. I'd use the hotel site itself, (check out the pictures) and then, if you're still worried, make a call to the hotel. They will tell you about recent updates.

I stay at Hilton properties frequently. It would be highly unusual for a Hilton Honors category 6 (and AAA Diamond 4) hotel to be anything but very nice.

Was there a year ago and the rooms looked just like on their website and like the rehab was fairly recent. I stayed in two different rooms before and after Disney and both were very nice. One room had a sink inside and outside of the shower area.

I stayed there for a week in April 2007 for a work related conference. It was my second time there and both times were very nice. I had no issues, nor did I here of anyone with our company having any.

Ok - the pics look great and thanks for the info on trip advisor - now I can start to look forward to the trip as opposed to worring about the hotel.

We stayed there about 6 months ago and absolutely loved it. We had a view of the fireworks at Disney everynight and it was so close to Downtown Disney. The pool was fantastic and the service was great. We would go back in a heartbeat.

I stayed there in Feb on business and it was very nice. Although the walk to the room down the hallway was very long. Reminded me of the hotel in The Shining, maybe if I had a Big Wheel it would have been better :)

You get EMH but the buses are Mears to get you to the parks and then back to the hotel. I had no problem with them, they just weren't disney.

We stayed there a few years back and it was lovely, no complaints at all! (And I'm picky!)

hello, I've been looking into the Hilton as well...can someone please tell me if they have connecting rooms and if so is it hard to get them connecting?
Thank-you for your time!:)

We stayed there in July for only one night before we could get into our timeshare. It was wonderful and I would definitely go back. I also read some less than stellar postings on tripadvisor prior to our stay. The ONLY thing I could agree with was that the tub was older. It worked fine, great water pressure, it's just an older style tub. But the rest of the bathroom was great - there is one sink and a stool in with the tub, then a second sink outside the bathroom door which is WONDEFUL for families. The room was not huge, but the amenities of the place made up for it. We used Hilton Honor points to book it so it was a free night for us. When my husband checked us in he politely asked us if an upgrade to concierge level was possible. They had already upgraded us, maybe this was due to our platinum Hilton Honors card. We enjoyed afternoon snacks in the concierge lounde and then a wonderful continental breakfast before we left the next morning. There is a Disney store in the lobby. The pool looked quite large. The market place looked great. Parking was not a problem. It was a very nice hotel.
