The whole family will be with us this Nov. and character meals are being considered. I seem to recall getting Chef Mickey's days in advance in 2007 but we want to make sure we don't get shut out. Any idea which are the most popular and which, if any, might be walk ins?

BOG is proving very hard to get. And CRT is another one people told me to book quickly.

Hardest: BOG (B, L, & D), CRT (B & D especially), CP (for PPO breakfast), Tusker House (for PPO breakfast), Akershus (for PPO breakfast), & the Bon Voyage breakfast at Boardwalk (since it's so new)

Thanks to some other posters pointing this out to me on another thread, CP PPO doesn't offer nearly the advantage it used to because of the new rope drop/ welcome show procedure.

You're correct, it unfortunately doesn't offer that same advantage anymore :sad2: but it does seem to still be a pretty popular reservation since you're in park and can try and get breakfast done as close to opening as possible. I'd still go for it if I could grab an early slot but maybe it's just because I am obsessed with Pooh's puffed toast

Thanks for all the input. Our 180 day window opens next week, I've warned our daughters to decide and be prepared to book that morning. I suspect they'll lean towards CRT, BOG or CM. The new one at Board Walk interests me because 4 of us are staying there and we hit WS for F&W every afternoon so breakfast there would be ideal.

Easiest to book if not on the dining plan is the Garden Grove at the Swan. The food is outstanding at dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, and you can easily walk up and be seated.

As a pp mentioned the Beast is available to meet at BOG dinner but he does not come to tables. It is not a character meal in the traditional sense. It's dinner with a bonus visit with the Beast on your way out.

BOG has no characters at breakfast or lunch so it should not be included in the character meal category.

Depending on which characters they are interested in, check out the Garden Grill (Epcot), Cape May at the BC, and 1900 Park Faire (GF),

Hi! What has changed? We booked 8:15 at CP just to get in early.

Everyone is let in early around 7:45 and held in the hub area untill the castle welcome show at 8:55. Because Crystal Palace is in the hub area... you have no advantage as far as rides go. If you get out before 8:55, you will wait with the masses. Because everyone is let in at 7:45... there are no sparsely populated Main St/castle pictures. Cinderellas and be our guest are behind the castle... so if you eat fast enough, there (usually) is a ride advantage in fantasyland.

Well shoot. Thanks for the info. I created a separate thread about this too (before this response), because this was news to me. Maybe I should switch to BOG or just skip scheduled breakfast altogether.

Yeah important to note that be our guest is not really a character based dining experience, beast is more of a small afterthought. I would recommend looking at CP or CRT for characters dining in MK. Garden Grill very underrated and great in Epcot. Frequently overlooked is my personal favorite, Ohana character breakfast at the Polynesian. BEautiful resort, delicious breakfast, reasonably priced and they bring it to your table as opposed to the breakfast at CP where it's a buffet. In my opinion higher quality food than CP in a more relaxed environment. Beats CRT for me, however eating in the castle is something everyone should get to experience at least once

My window opened this morning and I got everything I wanted including CRT and BOG. Maybe it is because we are a party of 3?

Just a tip, but if you can't get the reservation you want try the reservation finder on the touringplans.com website. I tried to get a dinner reservation BOG for a long time with no luck but was able to do so with the reservation finder. They text you when a reservation opens.

Just turn your volume up on your phone and grab it anytime you get a text in the middle of the night. Twice, I have slept through notices that came in the middle of the night and missed getting reservations.
