What room or what vicinity did you stay in where you saw the fireworks? I would really love to request that area!:)

I had a room just like that last December. I was in the 50's Jukebox building, 4th floor, lake view.

Our last family trip was January 2006, and we stayed at Pop. We went in our room after a day at the parks to find the TV on, which I thought was odd, but then we realized the mousekeepers had set up all the children's stuffed animals (and believe me, there were about 30 of them!) as though they were watching the "Top Ten Things" not to miss, or whatever it is, on TV. Tigger was even holding the remote. It was so cute! We took pictures, and our kids loved it.:)
Heading back to Pop this December (we hope!!).

I'm back! Our 13th - 22nd trip went great! POP was awesome! :teeth:

This was the view from outside our room(s):

I didn't take many pictures at POP (too busy eating, sleeping, and swimming when I was there, which wasn't often as we hit the parks at a record breaking pace), but I do have a lot of theme park pictures which I'll hopefully share at one point or another.

But anyway, all in all POP was great. Aside from a few little things, it couldn't have been better :teeth: I'll probably post some more details later. For now, I'm going to sleep right through the next 5 days or so ;)

Oh, and just a little note while I'm thinking of it, because this may help someone out - I noticed that some resorts have a "Magical Express" specific bus stop with a sign. POP doesn't (the ME buses just pull up in the little loop in front of the main entrance). This wouldn't really be an issue, but the Magical Express buses don't always say Magical Express. They sometimes use Disney Cruise Line buses. We were never told this, nor is it documented anywhere. We ended up missing our 2:45 ME bus because we were sitting in the lobby looking out the doors, saw a Cruise Line bus and assumed that it was in some way connected to the Cruise line (we thought maybe it was people taking a combo-vacation and getting a trip from the Cruise right to WDW or something like that). So, anway, the bus drove away and we continued to wait.

Well, when another Cruise Line bus drove up 15 minutes later, we got suspicious. We asked the driver and found out that, yes, it was the Magical Express. :headache: In hindsight, we now realize that we saw several Cruise Line buses around WDW during our stay, and obviously there's no way they were all connected somehow to a Disney Cruise. We just never thought much of it, however, until we had missed our bus, and then it dawned on us that all those Cruise Line buses driving around WDW were in no way related to a Cruise

Luckily there was room on that 3:00 ME "Disney Cruise Line" bus, everything went fine and we got to the airport in plenty of time. (Our driver Javier did a great job, too, of loading/unloading luggage virtually by himself, and he was very informative and friendly. Be sure to tip your ME drivers if they do a good job - Javier was working harder than just about anyone I've seen)

But I guess the issue we had was that we had just wrongly assumed that all the Magical Express buses would say "Magical Express" on them (like most of the ones we saw do). Disney should REALLY label the buses with at the very least a small "Magical Express" logo in addition to the Cruise Line logo. And POP could also have a small "ME" sign somewhere where the buses pull up, so that you know that if a bus is at that ME sign, it's an ME bus, or at least tell you when you arrive that Cruise Line buses are also ME buses.

So basically I just wanted to mention that in case anyone else might eventually be in the same situation. Another family made the indetical mistake we did, missing the 2:45, and we had to tell them that the 3:00 "cruise line" bus was actually a ME bus so they could get on at the last minute like we did.

Yes I noticed that too ! But I was standing in front of Luggage and asked every bus that pulled up! The drivers ask to see your ME info and will tell you if this is your bus and if not still may take you if ther's room. That was how I ended up with the most amusing Bus driver ever, perfect way to end the trip!!

I know the crusie line busses we seen being used for ME, did have a sign (like a homemade sign) in the front window stating this, are they not doing this anymore?

You must post a picture of that in the pop picture thread.

I think POP doesn't have a ME sign becuase it is in a totally different area than where the other buses go.
Also some of the buses the yuse don;t say Disney at all. One we rode was brown.

Our Mousekeeper did this for us @Pop December 2007! :goodvibes

I just have to tell you all that every time I pull up this thread I have to do the happy dance. It gets me all revved up for WDW. Only 72 days to go.

There actually is a sign for ME right at the bus stop in that center isle with the benches. It faces both the resort and the driveway. It is on a long post maybe 8ft high the sign is round with the Magical Express logo. I actually have pics of the sign but I am not sure how to post them.

When we left all I ever saw was Disney Cruise Line busses picking up passengers to the airport. On the way to the resort both times this year we also had a DCL bus. They must be short on ME busses.

I can see how that would be confusing to guests. Too bad there is not a sign that tells people to wait in the center isle 15 minutes before their bus is to arrive. Then again maybe there is and I missed it.

Today I was going to come on here and tell my sad story that I wasn't going to be staying here for our upcoming trip. We had a trip booked for Jan. and then when the free dining came up we decided to switch. The only down fall was that we would have to stay at All Star Movies. I was dissappointed, but glad to be saving the $$$! When I called today I asked to see if there were any cancellations at POP and there were!!   I was so excited. I was so nervous about the bussing and everything at Movies. Now I don't have to. I requested 70's section 4th floor. My parents are going too and we switched them as well. So now I get to keep reading the POP thread and get totally motivated to stay HERE!!! Thanks for all the great information. LOVE IT!!

Thanks! Was this a preferred room or no? I wasn't planning on paying for the preferred location but it might be worth it if I can see the fireworks from my room.

Wow that's a great view, where was your room? I want to put in a request for when we go but I'm not sure what to put!

WOOO! We'll be at Pop from 11/29 - 12/4! :woohoo:

We loved it back in 2006 and I'm sure we'll love it even more this time around!

POP Question: I just got my wonderful maps from Disney yesterday in the mail. They are so awesome! But I was wondering, is POP located within walking distance of anything? On the maps it looks like it's close to DHS and WWoS. Are they really that close or is it just the map being so off scale?

Thanks!

hello all =) I've been busy busy getting our intineraries printed and all that planning things when I thought of something. We are having dinner at Chef Mickey's at 9pm one night. What would be the fasted way to get back to Pop after dinner? TIA
