How is the hair dryer in the room? Should I just squeeze my huge personal one into my luggage or just use the one in the room?

There's only stand up showers at Pop, correct? No connecting tub - if so, that should be fun with my dd who is afraid of the shower LOL

The hairdryers at all Disney resorts are the same - pretty weak. No matter where we stay, from GF to POP, I take one along - my hair is baby fine & short and it takes forever to dry with Disney hairdryers - industry standard for hotels.

All POP rooms, except handicap, have tubs with showers - a traditional bath.:thumbsup2

Happy planning!:goodvibes

is there any internet access at the parks or at pop century? i wont have a laptop, but would like to email home a few times during the trip.

also, does pop give you mini toiletries? does anyone have a pic? are they mickey shaped or have mickey labels on them?

I cannot believe I actually have this...ugh.

I am thinking of changing our reservation from CBR to Pop. I would really like to stay in the 80s section. What is the best building in this section?

Pop looks like lots of fun. Can't wait !!!

The 80's is not close to the foodcourt but looks closer to buses !!!

No shame in that. I have them also along with napkins, peanut butter packs, shoppings bags, etc... I actually have Pop Century ice. :scared1: Yes, ice. I put ice in the ice chest before we drove home last Dec. and we still had a substantial amount when we got home. Sooooooo........I put it in the freezer and will keep it there until it's time to put ice in the chest for the drive there in January. :confused3

I have these bottles by the bag full. I agree, the shampoo is not the best. I liked the products they have prior to these. The packaging is cute but that is where it ends. I always see the larger bottles for sale in the gift shops and wonder who buys that???

The other resorts have some different 'spa' products. Not sure if they are really any better. This stuff makes my hair feel like straw. :scared1:

The carrying trays was what got me at CBR too. Tired kids weren't so bad; my big kids are old enough that they don't expect to be carried (actually, DS12 could probably carry me!) and we had the stroller for the baby. But trying to bring breakfast back up to the room while DH & the older kids slept in or got ready was such a pain, especially if I took the youngest with me so the rest could sleep.

Just a small suggestion :) We purchased 2 of those reusable totes in the gift shop, they are 2.95 I believe. That fit food for 7 (4 adults and 3 children) with the lids on and then we were able to squeeze the 20oz drinks down in beside the stacked plates. It was all very tidy and made it back to the room in one piece :) Now it wasn't light....by the time we got back to the 90's/laptop building my arms were really tired....but it's an option LOL

Oh and I carried a gallon size ziplock down for sauce packets, spoons...etc. And I also stacked our desserts in one since they don't always have lids. The cookies, brownies...etc all fit nicely in one big ziplock. We carried a couple gallon size ziplocks in the park too, for leftover cookies or other dry desserts from QS meals or snacks. Made for convenient snacks while waiting on parades or fireworks.

At Saratoga Springs they have the spa line of products. Its much better. I love  the smell. My son LOVES the shower gel. I had asked him why he hadn't had me refresh his old spice supply and he admitted that he'd been stashing the Disney Spa products from the villa each day. With 2 1/2 baths, we get a good supply.

If you only need to send a few emails periodically, it would not be cost effective to pay $10 per 24 hour period for internet at the Pop. If you have a car, you can make your way to the nearby Panera for free internet. There might be other non-Disney owned businesses nearby that you could walk/bus to that have free internet. There has GOT to be a starbucks or two, you'd think. :surfweb:

Just back from the POP and oh my we loved it! I booked our trip only 10 days out! We got a preferred room for $90 a night and I asked for 60's area top floor away from pool with a medical refrig for husband's insulin. We flew in on Airtran. Landed just after 3pm. Got our luggage ourselves (recommend) and we were on the bus by 4pm. At hotel by 4:30pm one person ahead of us in line for check in. Got room 4415 top floor of building 4 facing the 50's area. Very close to the pool bar. Hardly any walk at all to the classic hall. We were in the pool by 5pm. I called right away for extra towels they brought the towels and frig while we were in the pool. Bought mugs ($13.99!!! yikes)
We did not have a dining plan- stayed only 3 nights. Dinner was so-so the first night I think we had Italian. Kind of busy in the food court.

Slept in next morning and went to breakfast at 9:30am and it was PACKED in the food court. I thought people would be at the parks by then. We spent the day at the pool it was just about deserted in the afternoon. We went to the Swan for dinner took the boat from DHS. Garden Grove is nice but WAY overpriced.

All the staff was super friendly, nice to my daughter, helpful. The other guests were borderline rude. Bump right into while you're carrying a tray of food. No one holds doors. Cuts in front of you in lines for drinks. A lot of smokers by the pool bar and side of entrance to Classic hall but not too bothersome.

I am so glad we picked up our own bags at the airport. I wish we would have brought more food with us. I brought some peanut butter and we had sandwhiches one day. Tuesday we went to MK and we just had cereal in the room. The kids meals are a pretty good deal at $4.99 since you get a drink and 2 sides. The Shrimp Lo Mein is so terrible I don't know who said it was good don't get it!

Oh and the toilets are super loud. That was just weird but we didn't care. The room was really nice refurb, loved the beds, hated the pillows. Our room was quiet and we could see the Epcot fireworks at 9pm. Everyone decorated their windows for Halloween I wish I would have known.

Leaving was a breeze and they check your bags to the airport and print your boarding passes.

all the restaurants at Swan and Dolphin are overpriced. even when we stayed at the Dolphin, we didn't eat there.

Cuts in front of you in lines for drinks. A lot of smokers by the pool bar and side of entrance to Classic hall but not too bothersome.this is because there are DSAs at those 2 spots.

oh no! I had heard numerous times that it was "the best" and was planning on getting it this next trip.

we had such a good time both at Pop and at MK I can't really complain about anything- this thread was super helpful about Pop!

what I learned was if you need/want something ask- you might get it! the CM's were great

We will be checking in at Pop in just one month!!!

We plan on eating a couple of meals at Everything Pop, but I can't remember how well the dessert options for the DDP are labeled here. I seem to recall that the snacks and desserts were pretty much the same, and that they were all labeled; especially in the Grab n Go area.

What are the sundae options? On every menu I look at it just says 'assorted sundaes'.

Thank you so much for any help! I'm sure I will have many more questions as the trip gets closer!!

The last time I stayed at Saratoga, the spa line didn't exist. HA! The products were still the old red and yellow labeled bottles and soaps. I still have some of them in my linen closet! LOL I can imagine the spa line is better. :)

I have stayed at Pop quite a few times and my family just loves it for those quick trips. The last time we stayed at Pop was in April and the refurb was in process...we were able to stay in the 70's section which I believe was the only building/section that had been refurbed. Is the entire resort complete now? If not, what decades are/are not? We are arriving in 2 weeks for another long weekend and I would love to be in one of the newly done rooms again.

Thanks! Sorry if this has been mentioned a billion times - too many pages to read through!

We have a trip booked during next May for free dining and staying at POP for our 3rd time. I have been reading through this thread and have noticed some posting about a corner room. What is the benefit of a corner room? Are they bigger? Just curious and thanks:thumbsup2

My experience with sundaes at Pop is that I went to order just mint chocolate chip ice cream and because of all the sundae toppings you can get, and the CM was so nice, I ended up with a giant full sundae dish - whipped cream, nuts, sprinkles, cherry, it was great.

So, I think assorted sundaes means you can get what you want on your ice cream. And it was a dessert credit, no problem there.

I read corner room to mean a room at the ends of the building. I've had such a room twice now -- didn't request it, just got them assigned. The rooms were not bigger, but you don't have another room on one wall, so conceivably there will be less noise.
