Hi, everyone!

Kristen and I always welcome suggestions of info that would be helpful on the first page of our FAQs. ::yes::

We had considered adding bus times - our concern is that the buses at any Resort are not reliably the same during different times of the year or any given day. We feel the ongoing discussion and POP guests who have recently returned, sharing their experience, provides the most up to date information.:thumbsup2

Please do not hesitate to make suggestion for the FAQs and to be sure we see it, pm either of us: Minnie&Nana or Kristineamb.

Thanks so much!
My only Question- should the info on the first page be updated to include bus times? I mean how long the bus takes for the drive? I just wonder because we noticed that most of the bus rides were much longer than the listed drive times. The drive to MK (once the bus had started) was usually taking close to 25 minutes, and the info on page one of this thread says 12. We had 8:05 ADR's on two mornings, so I was really watching that clock, especially the morning we spent 20 minutes waiting for a bus that showed up at 7:30! It's not just me either, if you go to the OLP transportation wizard, it suggests 22 minutes plus wait times for the MK bus.

We stayed at POP Aug 23- Sept 2 (two weeks ago, but seems so much longer!)

We loved it there. Our kids didn't want to leave the resort! We were actually getting in line for parks in the morning with DD fighting that she didn't want to get on the bus because she just wanted to spend the whole trip at POP.

I know all bus times vary. The OLP wizard is usually off, giving too much time, but sometimes it does take that long. I think it usually took us about 15 minutes once the bus left to get to MK. The bus times NEVER include how long you may wait for a bus. And traffic makes a difference as wel las the route the busdriver goes.

::yes:: I agree 100%. It changes from week to week and day to day.

And I've seen many different routes going from MK back to Pop. I've even seen one going to MK that got lost. :confused3

Always allow extra time and then be pleasantly surprised when you get there faster. If time is a major issue, take a cab. They aren't that expensive and sometimes it's worth the piece of mind. I like all the Disney transportation. It's all part of the experience. The only thing I don't like is waiting for an hour and half at the end of an evening. I can handle 45 min. to an hour. More than that, I'm not thrilled.

We are planning our first trip to Disney, and are staying at the POP. I have two small children, so we will be going back to the hotel each afternoon for naps.

Can someone suggest a quiet location I can request? We have a preferred room (it was the only way I could get free dining) if that makes a difference.

We were in 1259, which is the back side of building 1 facing the parking lot at the end of the hall, and except for the construction noise, it was totally quiet.

I think as long as you are not facing the pool or on the ground floor, the level of quiet depends entirely on your neighbors. Poolside and ground floor have a lot of talking/foot traffic.

This is a bit more difficult as the pref rooms tend ot be in the busiest area of the resort. I'd suggest calling back every now and then before the 45 day mark to see if std opens up - with std you could request 4th floor lake side and it would be very nice.

With a pref location I would suggest 60's bldg 4 or 5 courtyard side:

Or 50's bldg 1, courtyard/parking lot side. This would be very quiet, but no real view as it is trees.

The preferred rooms are hi-lighted in yellow.
Here is a map of the entire resort to give you a sense of the room locations:

The first page of this thread has loads of information about the resort, so it might be helpful to look through. :thumbsup2

Hope this helps! Happy planning and have a great trip :goodvibes

p.s. What WheresFigment said about neighbors is very true...but that applies to any resort, not only POP. :)

We were there last week and the pools were open 24 hrs. I believe the food court was open until midnight, with limited service after 11 pm.

Thank you both! We previously had a standard room booked, but when they opened up free dining I had to change to a preferred. I hadn't thought of calling back to see if I can switch back to a standard.

Here now
The pool is definetley not open 24 hours as of last night lol.

And to add to your limited service note
the Grab n Go, Flatbreads and Pasta Station were open to midnight rest closed earlier.

I'm staying at Pop-for the first time (usually stayed at All-Stars). I'm leaving Feb 28-March 7. How is the weather usually? Is it shorts, capris, or pants weather? Have no clue what to pack! I've only gone in October, thanks!

Oh man, I've read it was opened 24 hours, I was looking forward to that! Hopefully it changes by March, when I go.

As for a quiet location in a preferred room... When I went in 2009, we had room 0460 (Bldg 10 in the 70s), which was 4th floor corner room facing the playground, it was SUPER quiet.

If you want preferred & quiet, an end room on the 4th floor is probably a really good bet.

We've been a few times that time of year - it's a sort of pack all of the above! One year it was raw and rainy nearly everyday. Another trip it was 85 and no humidity. By the end of Feb it should be nicer....nevertheless, the FL winters have been unpredictable the last few years, so I would watch the weather patterns closely the week prior and then pack accordingly, but if it's been warm, be sure to take along a sweatshirt and jeans, just in case.:thumbsup2

DH and I are looking to stay a night at Pop before our 3 nights Dream cruise in Jan, without our kids :goodvibes

Which building should we request in a standard location? Is there a building with more king beds than another?

Are souvenirs a decent price at the POP shop or are they cheaper in the parks?

We were there last week and the pools were open 24 hours. One night we went for a swim around midnight and there were a few other people in the pool as well. The only time I saw the pools closed were during lightning storms and that happend almost every night for an hour or two while we were there.

Prices seemed the same in Parks and at Pop !!Of course the Parks have more merchandise as they have so many stores !! DTD does have a Bargain store though !!!

Thanks! Is it good to spend 1/2 in DTD? I wanted to go but wasn't sure if I would spend a lot of time down there. It's only me (21) & my boyfriend (22). Don't know if there's a lot for us to do other than shop!

They are open 24 hours tonight to report. I spoke with a CM they had closed down the two pools for cleaning last night...i took loads of pictures of ducks in the flower pool at 6am this morning I can't imagine the duck poop in that pool ! lol
