I will be landing in Orlando for my very first POP stay on Saturday morning at 9:00!!

We always stay at the Beach Club but I am down attending a conference for work and they just wouldn't spring for a deluxe!!

I am actually very excited to stay there. Have looked a pictures of it and have always considered it a fun looking resort.

I am renting a car to get back and forth to the conference. Any advice on what building I should hope to get? Like I said, going solo and have a car so no worries on trecking to the bus stop with my kids in tow each day!

Thanks!
J

When we stayed at POP in August we had a car - we stayed in the 50's - facing the parking lot. Perfect location. Steps away from our car, the bowling pin pool and a few minutes to walk to the main building or the main pool. :goodvibes

Everyone on this thread is so helpful and quick to respond. It's great:thumbsup2

DH and I are travelling with DDs 7 and almost 5. We plan to spend most of our time at the parks but will try to fit in pool time every day because the girls love it so much.

Most people seem to recommend the rooms facing the lake if you prefer quiet, which I do, but are those rooms alot farther from the pools? If you were me where would you request your room?

As well, I've looked and can't seem to find the pool hours posted anywhere. Does anyone know what they are?

Thanks

Not sure what the hours are but pools are open after Lifeguards leave I believe !!My guess would be about 10am till midnight but the guards aren't there that late !!I also know people swim way later !!I don't recal seeing anyone in the pool really early !!

What are the benefits to online check in? I'm assuming it saves time...we will also be arriving on Saturday!

Really, I haven't seen any benefits as it perhaps saves a few minutes at check in. Its just the feeling that you are checked in!!!!!

you can request a room close to the pools, maybe around the corner so your not right on top of them, that's what we usually do.

Only 2 more sleeps until Pop Century!! I am currently training for the Princess Half Marathon at the end of February. That means this will be the first time I run while during a Disney trip. Picture me running all over Pop Century! That will be so cool!

Have a good trip. And :sad2:boo on your husband for not asking off! Men!

I'm glad to see it's not only my husband who does this!! We're not going to Disney (yet) but we're flying to visit my brother tonight. Yesterday, he said "oh, I have a meeting from 1-3. I guess I'll go do X, Y, and Z after." I said "Um, aren't you supposed to be off at noon to go home, clean up (I should note I'm on crutches and pretty much useless), feed the cats, and load the car for the trip." "Oh. OH that's right! I forgot!"

:confused3

Reminds me... I should make sure he has our trip blocked off on his calendar, before he decides to go to another meeting...! (two months, 1 day until we check in at Pop!)

We had a lake view in the 60's (building 5) and it was extremely quiet and a 2 minute walk to the main pool and very close to the main building.
We have stayed in the 80's, 60's and 50's and have enjoyed all of the locations. 80's and 50's were great because we had a car those trips. But I would probably choose the 60's for our next trip (even with a car). The location was great!

The pools are open 24 hours. When we were there in August the lifeguards left at 10:00pm (not sure what time they started).
:)

:yay:
Just faxed my room request, which should also be documented on my reservation. I am a little concerned because we have (2) confirmation numbers. The first one is just for one night room only and the second is for a four night package. We had to do this because the free dining was not available on the 9th. I have been told that the reservations have been "linked" together and I am really hoping that we will not have to move rooms after the first night. Has anyone had experience with having (2) reservations at the same resort?

We will not be checking in until 11:00 pm. Considering the circumstances, should we use the online check-in or just wait until we get there?

I am trying hard not to worry about this. After all a bad Disney Day is still better than a day at home in the snow!! :thumbsup2

I had two ressies for Pop on my trip this past Sept. One discount expired the end of Sept. so I had another ressie with a different discount for Oct. 1st. Mine were not linked. Just tell them about it when you check in and they shouldn't make you move. I wouldn't do the online check-in. You want "one on one" with a CM at the beginning of the whole process.

Thanks! I had the same thought about the "one on one". We will not be arriving until 11 PM so there shouldn't be a huge crowd checking in at that time.

Magical Express stuff came today! :) We'll be there one month from tomorrow! It's been so hard not to tell the kids. I can't wait until the 24th when we tell them!! It'll be their first trip to Disney ever. :)
