I'm checking in to Pop in 5 days. I'll definitely check the pool times. i plan on coming back to the room after the park closes, quick shower, and go for a swim before bed.

Posted this to the Pop refurb thread but I'll post here too.

Stayed at Pop 9/11/10 to 9/18/10. I requested building 3 / 50s to get a refurbed room, and got one. Room 3112. Flat panel TV, privacy curtain, new paint on the walls (one wall blue, others neutral).

Starting on Monday 9/13 I witnessed the refurb work going on in all rooms on the 4th floor of building 1 / 50s. There were signs in the central elevator about the area being renovated.

I did not see any work on building 2, and although I did not see inside any rooms, the doors on the ground floor of building 2 were still white while the doors on the ground floor of building 3 were painted lavender to match the walls. I am guessing the outside door painting is part of the refurb, because our door to room 3112 looked freshly painted. The ground floor of building 1 still had dingy white doors when I took a walk over there.

Looks like a few of us are arriving at the Pop around the same time. 4 days to go for us! This will be my son's first trip to Disney World and we can't wait to see his reaction.

we arrive this friday and Im debating using the online check in. We are getting to Pop around 6:45ish pm????? on the magical express (flight lands around 5:30). I have read that sometimes there is a longer line for online checkin than standard. Any advice as to what we should do?

I have made all requests on the reservation, and it will be full of pixie dust if they are granted. But, we have stayed all over Pop, so whatever is really OK to us.

Thoughts on what is better for an evening magical express check in? Online or standard?????

Did you get the e-mail this morning for online check in ? I did. I didn't do online check in. For some reason I like waiting in line to check in. We arrive Friday also our plane lands 12:15 pm. Going to the rainforest that day and then to the toy store so the girls can stuff a my little pony box.

I've only arrived as late at 5:15ish pm and there was no line at all then. (But that was in early June) I've actually never even had one person in line when we got to the online check in line any time I did online check in. I know some others have complained about it being a longer line but I guess it all depends on when people are arriving.

On our first day at WDW, we check in as soon as we can at Pop and then head over to DTD to spend a half day there. Earl of Sandwich is on the dining plan(counter service meal) and has a great pizza sandwich for the kids and yummy salads for me. However, Disney can't compete with Earl's salads so every salad for the rest of the trip is a complete letdown!

Just got back from 10 days at POP. We walked around POP and did see some construction workers. We stayed in 70's Building 6, 4th floor room 6457 facing the lake. We could see 'tower of terror' from the door of the room. Room we had was refurb. Long walk to the food court, but worth it for the noise level. Will post more info after we unpack.

Just requested 60's facing the lake. But would be happy with 50,60 or 70's. We did get in last year so here is hoping. Were are going to enjoy every minute of it. We are booked for next year but not sure 100% if we are going. I said that the past 5 years now. LOL

So glad I wasn't the only one thinking about doing this.

If any of you guys are going to be at Pop around 10/22-29 and would like an extra arcade voucher, I'm not going to use mine and will give it to whoever wants it. I'm solo this trip and barely play video games as it is I play Mario and that's about it.

Are souvenirs a decent price at the POP shop or are they cheaper in the parks?

I find the prices are consistent. Whether you are purchasing at the resort or the parks...makes no difference really. It's all Disney and everything is marked up!
