any room overlooking the lake is quieter than those overlooking the pools. Also, any room down by bldg 10 is nice and quiet. The only proviso is you can never tell who will stay besdie you!!!:surfweb:

Our 1st family trip to WDW will be in 22 days and we are so excited :yay:. Hoping to get a room in the 70s building by Mickey (which is noted on reservation).

I have asked before, but I am STILL so confused as to what I should request! We get there in 2 weeks so I really need to call and add a request. I want to be super close to the pool and the food court, but not where it is really loud because of potential noise? I have three small kids ( we are bringing a white noise machine) that need a good nights sleep!

I have stayed at the ASM so many times and been jealous of not being near the pool. My kids will also like the goofy water jets.

I just want it to be perfect :thumbsup2

Did you get Standard or Preferred rooms ?? Preferred are close to Foodcourt and are in 50's 60's and 70's !!! 70's has NO pool but the Goofy Jets are there !! Pool side tends not to be quiet !! The 50's and 60's are all close to the pools . The 60;s also has a kid's pool !! I would request 60's as you would be close to one of their pools !!

Thanks! We have a preferred room! I was thinking of the 60's, but then got scared because so many people told me it was noisy!

You could try a lakeview in the 60s buildings. That would put you on a quiet side for the night but you would be able to just take the stairs/elevator in the middle, walk out the front of the "T" and be at the pool and not a far walk to the food court. I'm pretty sure the those rooms are standard but sometimes it depends on who you ask. 70's lake view isn't bad either especially if you can get one that is closest to the 60s building. See map http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/PopCenturyMap.pdf

I'll be there with my eldest daughter Jun 5 to 12...throwing caution to the wind and letting them assign a room with no room requests...hoping this doesn't go very, very wrong!

With preferrd you will be close to Foodcourt !!I agree Lakeside is quiter and unless you areon the first floor , you are just an elevator away from "Close to pool "We love the 60's and that's what my daughter always requests!!

ok, thanks!!
I am having the hardest time picturing the distance since I have never seen POP! I am used to the all stars and we ALWAYS get the furthest away!

Hi there everybody!
Can anyone tell me if it's too crowded in the first two weeks of june?
I'll be at POP from June 2nd to June 12th. We're only adults travelling and we would love the quieter rooms. Seems like the 70's facing the lake is the better option, right?
Thanks in advance:)

In our experience, early June crowds have been lighter than mid to late June (or anytime later in the summer). I would guess that your first few days will be somewhat less crowded, but by the next week nearly all schools are out for summer vacation so plan for bigger crowds. If I were you I'd try to work in as many of my must-dos early in the trip.

You're right about the 70s being a good option for you. We love building #6 (the Mickey Phone building). Request lakeside, 4th floor for super quiet - away from the pool crowds, yet a short, pleasant walk to the Hippy Dippy Pool & Petals pool bar or Everything Pop!

We have all the updated and correct information on the first page of this thread. :)

The 60's used to be all preferred, but that changed a few years ago - now the room facing the pool are preferred and some on the back side - but there are lots of good rooms in the 60's that are not preferred. We like a 60's lake facing room in bldg 4 or 5 as our second choice, but the quietest rooms at POP will not going to be as close to the Lobby/bus/food court, but can be a short walk with a lovely view. :)

Excellent advice!!!! :thumbsup2

I'm sure this is answered in here somewhere but have not read the entire thread. Can we bring our own mini fridge?

Sure, there is even a mini fridge swap on the budget board where people livbe one for the next guest but disney has no issues bringing your own

Can you see the kids at the playground while waiting for the buses? I can't tell from the maps.

I don't know if I ever posted about our 1 night stay on April 3rd. now I love Pop and still do, but I was not happy with them this time so much. Mostly because of room location.
I asked for 1st floor, 50's, poolside. I was given 90's, so I asked the CM to move us before we even left the counter. She looked and looked and looked. She said she found one ready now. I had told her we would wait if needed because it was early in the day.
She circeld where it was on the map and I said OK. I said "poolside right" and she said yes.
We it wasn't. Not even close. it was the 2nd to furthest room back behind the jukebox. Next to the parking lot. I was NOT happy, but since we were only going to stay 1 night I didn't complain or change it. I was very mad though. If my Mom had not beend with me to tell me not to worry about it, I most likely would've went back and changed it again. That is such a LONG walk too.
The 50's pool as actually closed anyways for some reason, so we had to use the 60's.
I will never stay non preffered again. We love the 60s poolside rooms.

I will also never stay offsite again as the next 2 nights were offsite and I hated being away from the action and driving to the parks.
One other thing
I left my camera battery and charger plugged in when we left on the 4th. I realized it late in the day and called. I was redirected about 50 times and finally given lost and found for Pop. They close at 4:00 and it was 4:30 when I called. They would not do ANYTHING about going to see if it was left or anything. They immediately send it offsite. I don't know why they wouldn't keep it ther for at least the day in case someone came back for their lost item.
I did get a call about 10 to 9 the next mornign that they had it and I could come pick it up. That lady was very nice.
I also lost an SD card somewher at WDW. I called the parks lost and found twice and neither times a report was ever made...even though I asked for one to be made. I also called Pop to see if it was found there. (the resorts lost and founds are different). They told me if it was not left in my room, but found on property it was thrown away basically as they had no way to look at the pictures. (I think I posted this already a few pages back)
I was not happy with that iether. I don't know where I lost the card, but I would at least like to know if it was found I had a chance at getting it back.

I will be going back to Pop for sure, but I will make sure I am more aware where my belongings are and to only request preferred for us.

That last time we went to Pop was 2009 and at the time there was the debate of whether or not 60s had preferred rooms and standard or just preferred. Even the CMs who answered the phones had different information about it. Glad to hear there are some standards as I would really like to stay in the 60s sometime.

WE have gotten a standard room in the 60's the past 2 times.

Is it possible to get a room near the pool and the food court that isn't a preferred room? Right now we have a standard room but I was thinking of paying for a preferred room if I need to.
