We have stayed at Pop several times, never made any requests, and always have been happy wth our rooms - but then again, as long as I was on Disney property, and the room was nice and clean, I probably wouldn't care where I was staying!:lmao:

:cheer2: Yes, but have you had the dumpster view yet??? :rotfl:I've a freind that seems to get the worst view no matter which resort...even if there is one room with that view. I pay for a view, if possible. No need to at POP though, which I love - we request 4th floor lake side and it's always been perfect. :thumbsup2

Throwing around the idea of a Thanksgiving trip...might be back to my beloved POP sooner than I thought!

giving is an awesome time since all the holiday decorations are up

Yuppers! I have been there to see the decorations for Christmas twice before. I really wanted to get back in the fall to go to MNSSHP but with work schedules and my BIL's school schedule, it just works better to go during Thanksgiving since everyone is off of work and school already. I'll just have to plan going back in the fall for another year! :rotfl:

Pop was our very first Disney resort and I made really awesome memories with my kiddos there. This fall, I'm heading back again with just my girls and so excited to stay at Pop once again. :)

I think I'm going to pay for a preferred room since I'll be alone with them. What's your favorite building to request if you stay preferred?

We still like the former pref rooms in bldgs 4 & 5 - they are just very close to the lobby, bus, food court (our walk was about 2 mins tops). When pref category was established, these rooms were part of that - but then many complained that rooms in the 50's and 70's were even closer....well, I'd not want to pay for pref and be in the 50's - some of those pref room face nothing but trees.

So, I'd pay for a reg room and request the 60's when making the reservation and again at check-in. Lots of former pref rooms, great locations!

Here is a map of the 60's bldg 4 & 5 - the yellow hi-light are preferred.

Hope this helps - happy planning! :goodvibes

Hey, SnowWhitesMom... at MNSSHP I was referring to myself all day as Snow White's Mom.. there is a resemblance :rotfl2:

Thats what she told me to do in the future. Put my name on the outside. But they are so small, how can you?

Yes, they ARE tiny, but my SanDisk 4GB SD card has a white face and a blank area just large enough to write my name and phone number with a fine tip scrapbooking marker from Marvy Uchida. I am guessing that it might also be possible to use old fashioned white out on a card that isn't already white to make a space to write on. If it were a card the size of the one in my phone, it would be too small.

Hello Popsters!!

I have a quick question for anyone who has been semi recently- I noticed on some of the other value threads the tv's had an encasement around them so you still had that wonderfull space up top-all the pictures I have seen of the pop refurb rooms looks like they skipped this part-is it just the tv or did they give back a shelf on top of the unit??? Just trying to plan accordingly-we utilize every inch of surface area.

my loved soon to be husband dislikes long walks pretty much (I am still marvelling at him buying the whole "Let's go to WDW for honeymoon!" thing as we walked a LOT back in september, our first time in this most wonderful place.... so I was wondering to save him longer walks in the POP Century; which buildings are closer to the food court and one of the pools???
Thanks folks!
Gigi

Just got back about a month ago. They do not have an encasement around the tv any more. The flat screen tv sits on the top of the dresser.

Does anyone know if I placed an order with Garden Grocer to be delivered tomorrow...do we have to be the ones to accept the delivery? Or does Pop take it and then let us know that we have a package waiting for us? Placed the order but forgot to ask, and wondering if we get delayed if it will be there waiting for us?? SOOOOOOO excited for tomorrow:banana:

If you go to the first page of this thread, you will find all the distances from the bldgs to the food court etc, maps of the entire resort and of each bldg. That may be more helpful than opinions as you know your soon to be hubby best....and what is a short walk to one of us may feel long to another. :thumbsup2

Congratulations!!!:bride:

I haven't ever had something from Garden Grocer. But, I know they will hold other orders for people who order a case of water from Costco. So I'm sure it's the same.

checking into POP tomorrow...anyone know about a delivery from Garden grocer?

I don't know of anyone who ordered GG to be delivered to Pop, but at the DVC villas, the bell services department accepts delivery.

I have had GG delivered and it was accepted by Pop and delivered to our room ,refrigerated items were refigerated and delivered once we were in the room!!

I made a room request for 70s facing the lake for June, but just saw a video of the construction of Art of A and am now wondering if I made a mistake. Will it be noisy? Is anybody just back?

I don't think it's noisy from what people have said. We are going at the end of May and requested a lake view. Although we want facing Epcot. So we shall see what we get! :) I am getting so excited!!!!
