I just called the resort and asked them if there is a charge to have things delivered to the resort and the man said no there is not. Hope that helps--if in doubt I would call...just so you can have 2 people tell you there is or is not.

I just called as well as was told there was no charge.

That's wonderful news! I remember reading the post after my last trip and was surprised that WDW would charge for holding the packages.

I guess I should keep shopping online!

Just an FYI - calls do not go directly to the resorts (even from the room phone) but to a call center and those operators answer all questions, not the resort itself.

There are a few resorts that do charge for packages.
They are the convention resorts...:confused3
I forgot exactly which ones they are.
But the post I read said that a different company actually runs the package receiving end of these resorts...
I want to say... Boardwalk and CSR are ones that now charge...

Can anyone tell me a nice standard room location not in the 60's section? just wanted to get some ideas for next year. Already stayed in the 50's and loved it didn't feel the same about the 60's this trip. Any thoughts would be great!

We REALLY enjoyed the 50's, it was facing the bowling pin pool. 3309 to be exact. (I'm sure 3409 would be nice too) It was nothing special room-wise, but it was high enough that you don't have a ton of pool noise, it's a pretty view of the pool, and it's not too long of a walk from the main building and buses.

Thanks for the FAX letter! We sent our request yesterday. I hope they can honor our request. :worship:

Would it be crazy to not even attempt to request a room location for our upcoming trip? I haven't been able to come up with a preference yet besides "upper floor." And even that I'm not totally tied to. Should I just wing it?

I would just send an upper floor request. I asked for a room as close to the lobby as possible, because I have a child and my husband both have Crohn's disease. Sometimes they need quick access to a bathroom. So when we get off the bus they can get to the room quickly.

Is just asking to be as close as possible to the buses good enough or do I need to try and come up with a specific room/building request? My mother has a bad foot at the moment, so the closer to the buses, the better for her.

I would mention your mother's medical issue and ask to be close to the buses. At check-in explain your mother's issue to be they understand and ask if the room is close to buses, if not if they could please try to find a room that would make it easier for your mom. Most POP CM's are very helpful. :thumbsup2

Just started going through this thread. It's great. This will be our `13th time at WDW but 1st time at POP so it's been nice to read up on it. We've been to all the All Star Resorts and went to CBR in April. We decided the bump up wasn't worth the cost. We love the Value Resorts. And we wanted to try something different. I'm a little concerned because POP is much larger than 1 All Star Resort. But we have our own vehicle and try to go to the food court at off times.

Only 2 1/2 more months. I can't wait!
