I am usually a CSR person, but we decided to stay at Pop this time since dh isn't joining us and it will save us almost $700! So, tell me I will be happy. I've stayed at ASMo several times and it was fun. My most recent stay was in Aug. 08 and transportation was horrible! Full busses and long waits for them! The transportation, I've heard, is much better at Pop. I'm also looking forward to the tie dye cheesecake!

I've never stayed at CSR, but I have stayed at ASMo, so if you liked it there you should LOVE Pop. We used to go to ASMo and we tried Pop and never went back. We don't do busses though, we have a car and use that instead. The Tie dye cheesecake is ok - not the best in the world, but hey - sugar anything is good :)

So when you checked in, were you able to make a note about any kind of prefrences you wanted? Like building or high/low floor or anything like that? I know you can ask at time of booking, but was wondering if you could mention it again?

Thanks!

There were only 3 options for preferences: Ground Floor, Pack & Play and close to transportation.

You can also call and put your preferences in your booking. What would be perfect, is that where you click on preferences, a box would come up that you could freehand type things.

Oh and today when I pulled up my reservation form from an old e-mail they had sent me, the form had a little icon at the top right that said - You are eligible for Online check in - NOW! I thought that was pretty cool.

Does anyone here have a picture from building 3 lake view? I am thinking of requesting that building. let me know. 46 days till I am in Disney

Debbie

Mizzou Mom - My daughter will be applying for Mizzou in September. We took a trip to Columbia last month to check out the school.

Which building is building 3 - I've stayed in 70's and 50's lake view - Lakeview's are my favorite!

Oh thats awesome to hear. My daughter will also be applying in September as well as auditioning for Marching Mizzou. My DH and I both attended Mizzou. We should talk off group about this.

Building 3 is in the 50's section.

Good Afternoon. I have been working with Pop front end manager and Special Relations. This will be our 3rd. stay, but I really needed to arrange a room prior this time and we arrive August 28th. Can anyone answer the following:

DD is extremely allergic to cigarrette smoke. We were next to the luggage area the first time and only encountered a small problem. Last year we were in the 50's building and we had to walk by 3 smoking areas to get to the main hall. They worked it out for us and are putting us in the 80s area, building 9. They said to walk through the front and into the gift shop to get inside. Has anyone stayed over here and would know what this "specific" room that they set aside might be? Thanks for any help I can get. Also, is this a long walk, I have a bad back?

We were in building 9.

The walk to classic hall is really short, 2 to 3 minutes, tops! There is a door at the back of classic hall that isn't by the smoking section. It's the one closest to the 80s section. The walk to the bus stop is even shorter than that if you walk across the parking lot.

Thanks for the quick reply, can you tell me if you encountered smoke at all?

leaving for POP in 8 days!!!:yay::woohoo::yay: ... first stay here any last minute advice??

If you buy a refillable mug carry it with you at all times. You don't want to have to go back to the room for the mug after a long day in the park. I fill it up, snap the lid, and sip while waiting in the line for the bus. I usually finish it just after getting thru bag check. When I'm done I hook it to my purse, belt loop, or backpack with a big carbiner clip. Saves steps at the end of the day and you'll end up getting more use out of the mug.

Don't forget sunscreen and handwipes....oh and a hat.

We stayed in the 90's building this past June...similar area to the 80s. We were on the second floor facing the parking lot. I thought it was a great location because A. We rented a car so we were steps away from our room. B. The pools can be *lively* at all hours so I was glad not to be facing one. C. It was a very short walk to the main building if you walk outside the area along the parking lot. D. We were steps away from the computer pool.
It was our first time at POP and we absolutely LOVED our stay. As far as the smoking....There were 2 places that you can run into a smoking area. 1. The bus stops...I don't think these are designated smoking areas but I did notice on a couple of occasions that people were smoking there. 2. There is a designated smoking area by the computer pool near the laundry area.

I posted a resort review a few weeks ago, but I think I will post it here shortly.:goodvibes

Here is my review! Hope this helps some future *POPPERS* :goodvibes

Hi all! Just back from a 7 day stay at POP and thought I would share some thoughts!
It was myself, DH, DD7 & DS6. We typically travel in Sept/Oct and love to stay at the Poly or AKL. The 4/3 promo tempted us into a *bonus* trip this year. Based on our budget we decided it had to be a value. Having never been to POP and never been in June, I was very nervous! So...what did we think? We absolutely LOVED it! Here are some of the reasons why it worked so well for us.

#1 Transportation: I was unsure of the heat/crowds in June so the first time in all our trips we rented a car. HELLO! What have we been thinking all these years?!? The freedom, flexibility and time savings is amazing! Yikes! DH & I quickly realized that we will never again stay at WDW and depend on the bus system. Park hopping was sooo much quicker..getting in and out of the parks was a breeze! and we were able to go to DTD 3 times over the course of the week..(can't imaging doing that using the bus system)..once for lunch at TRex (which was awesome), once for some shopping at night, and once to stop by and pick up an ornament that I had personalized before heading to the airport. I didn't really *notice* the lines at the bus stops at POP...but i do remember thinking "thank godness we are not standing there in the sun/heat" when we drove by(it was BRUTALLY hot this past week).

#2 POP. We did the online check in before we left home. When we got to POP at about 11:00am, check in literally took 5 minutes AND our room was ready! (not sure if it had anything to do with the online checkin or if we were just lucky). We did not put in a room request previous to arriving. We stayed in 90's, second floor, facing the parking lot. It was a great location for us. I would never pay for a preferred location as they can face the main pool. Those pools are *lively* at all hours. We came back from MK one night at midnight and the pool was as crowded as it was at 2:00 in the afternoon.
The room was absolutely immaculate. I noticed how clean it looked and smelled the minute I walked in. The room was in FAR better condition than our previous stays at POFQ and CSR (before the renovations). I was also surprised at the size of the room...it was bigger than I thought it would be. I didn't see a HUGE size difference between POP and the mods...maybe I just expected them to be the size of closets so I was pleasantly surprised?
Mousekeeping was fantastic the entire week. We came back each day to a clean room..plenty of fresh towels.
Noise was not an issue for us at ALL. (except for the flipping thunder/lightening storm one morning when I thought the world was ending) Sure we heard an occasional toilet flushing or shower running...but definately no more so than any of the resorts we have stayed at on Disney property.
We never ventured to the main pool as we were literally steps away from the computer pool. I thought our kids would *miss* having a slide...they couldn't have cared less. They played with the beach balls and noodles in the pool. They were just as happy swimming there .
The food court was crazy during peak hours (no surprise)...we only ate lunch there once and breakfast a couple of times. People move in and out of there quickly so we never had trouble finding a table. They had lots of choices and everything we had was great. We bought the refillable mugs and loved them. We did buy 4 which was a mistake...the kids didn't need them. I should have just purchased 2. I did notice that there were many people using all sorts of refillable mugs (some from last year, some from other resorts , some from the Cruise line..some were empty water bottles...i think I saw a man filling his shoe with Powerade (kidding) ... . Not saying it is right or wrong...just commenting on what I saw.

#3: Our kids are 6 & 7 so we have officially become one of those families who literally uses our room to shower and sleep. When they were younger we spent a LOT more time at our resort so deluxes really worked beautifully for us. (especially the Poly when our kids were in strollers). But POP is such a perfect fit for our families needs right now. We originally had a deluxe booked for our first holiday trip in Dec....but we were offered a bounceback rate for $66/$108 a night for the week before Christmas! Instead of 7 days at the deluxe, we are staying 10 days at POP and still saving quite a bit of money!
Will I stay at a deluxe again? Absolutely...someday I will for sure! But for now we are perfectly happy staying at POP and putting that extra $$ into our pockets. There is a good chance that we can now go twice a year (pending a great deal/discount) and stay at POP rather than once a year at a deluxe.

So in the end...we absolutely loved our first stay at POP!! Please feel free to ask any questions and I will be happy to answer!

Are the Pools still busy in December? We've stayed at CBR in October and pools were not that busy. We've stayed at AKL in November and pool was pretty empty.

We have reserved a preferred room because we want to be near main hall. Not sure if we'll be near a pool or not. Just wondered how loud and late the pool noise is in mid December. Thanks!

Not sure but we will be there the same time as you! (12/6-12/16) :goodvibes We don't have a preferred room booked but requested 50's or 60's room...Will be interesting to see how it all works out. :)

Me too! 12/7-12/15 at Pop. Answer to your question is that it depends on the weather. When I was there during the same time in '07 it was chilly in the evenings (low-mid 60's). I needed a long sleeve t-shirt and a jacket. The pools were empty. You may have a stray swimmer (pool is heated) but they won't make a night of it.

Really cool to walk by the pool after 10 at night and see the steam rising. Made great photo op's late at night and early in the morning. See you 132 days. :yay:
