How well insulated are the floors/ceilings at POP?

We've had the "hotel police" come to our door once because the kids were a bit noisy. JUst being kids, kind of slipping off the bed to the floor, but the people below didn't appreciate it. We never hesitate to remind them that the "police" could make us leave.

Kids are a couple of years older now, but they can still be quite loud even when not rambunctious.

Should I ask for a 1st floor to spare the neighbors? I don't like 1st floor due to a scary past hotel experience, but would do so to if we can relax and not nag the kids the entire week while in our room.

We'll have 2 rooms (hopefully connecting) so would spread out the noise a bit.

Thanks for info. I really appreciate the time of all who contributed to posts #1 and #2. I feel like there will be NO surprises.

So that was your kidlets!!!! :rotfl:;)

One of the recurring comments on this thread (and other DIS threads) is the thin walls at the values...this thread, of course, being POP. For us, I've heard crying children in the next room and snoring adults. We've only had a 4th floor at POP ~ we request top floor at any resort because having been a life long preschool teacher, I understand children play(which includes running and jumping) and so on vacation, prefer a room above the munchkins I so love.

If you feel your munchkins tend to be a bit noisier than average, then it certainly is thoughtful of you to consider requesting a first floor room.

POP is very safe, if that is any consolation, and many guests do request first floor. Try not worry....maybe by the end of each day the kids will be too tired to be too rambunctious in the room.:thumbsup2

Have a wonderful trip!! :goodvibes

Thinking of requesting the 80's when we go in Sept. We are going standard and the idea of the short walk through the parking lot after a long day at the park sounds nice. We stayed in the 50's last time and I liked it, but lugging 50lbs of sleeping kid all the way to the back of the 50's was hard. Any one stay in the 80's, what did you think?

We stayed in the 80's our first time at POP and loved it. It was close to parking and we did the shortcut to the busses through the parking lot also.

We are going back next year and are thinking about requesting the 80's again.

Enjoy your trip!

Hi - just a quick question for seasoned Poppers - when they provide towels, do they also supply facewashers (not sure what you call them in the US - wash cloths?)

I have a child and giving him a bath without a facewasher it can be hard to get him clean - I just want to know if I need to bring a sponge or some facewashers from home? (wanting to save as much space in the bags as possible when lugging them from the other side of the world).

Last hotel we stayed in in the US didn't supply them.

Many thanks. :goodvibes

Pop does supply washcloths and small hand towels.

Checked line yesterday afternoon. Previously completed online checkin at 10 day point. Took less than 1 minute at the counter.

MAGIC EXPRESS: Flawless. Wife and children rode ME while I got the rental minivan. They made it to the resort an hour before I got there. (MCO was low on avaible vans)

REQUEST: We asked for adjacent rooms and received "connecting rooms"

LOCATION: Reserved a Military 40% off preferred room and recieved 60's Builing 1. We are 50 feet from Classic Hall

WASHCLOTHS: There are four complete sets in each room. (Bath Towel, Hand Towel, Washcloths)

TOWEL ANIMAL: Both rooms received one.

Back to the fun.

My DS16 was there in May with his school and he said a lot of his friends bought the shutter shades. They're really popular now w/ the teen crowd.

I'm definately going to visit Trend in DTD with my DD next time we visit. She's almost 13 and loves stores like that.

Hope all is well with the bug bites... I'll send extra prayers to help!

Thanks for the input Minnie&Nana. I don't think my critters are noisier than average. They certainly do feed on each other in the excitement- it's like a snowball effect.

I think we are going to request 1st floor, just so we can eliminate one thing to nag (er...I mean "remind") them about.

...Are those those things that look like they're from the 80s?:cool2:

Anyone who could give me plusses & minuses of each? 2Adults, no kiddlings (grown). Love to travel all around WDW for food, so not concerned with meals at food court, but would love to be close to mug station.

Yes Pop does supply face washers (we call them wash clothes), several per day so each person has at least one clean one after they clean the room each day. If you would like or need more you can just ask them to leave more or call the front desk and they will send some up. I would not waste the space of packing your own unless you like your own better for some reason. These are just plain white ones and about he same softness as the towels. Hope this helps....:)

I have my Mickey Heads from home depot. What kind of things do you do with them? I was thinking of sticking them on our door and window, I did read once about someone putting them on their door and hanging a pen or marker and letting people sign them. What do you do with them?

I could give you a plus for PoP... The busses! There is only one bus stop at PoP and several at the All-stars (I believe they all share) I thought the bus service at PoP was great and that is one big reason why we are staying there again in a few months!

That is true, we stayed at Movies and we shared a bus with Sports and Music. So it takes abit longer to get to the parks and home to the hotel cause the bus stops at 3 different resorts, though they are all beside each other. But when it was really busy they would have seperate buses especially at closing times in the parks.

Good luck with your choice!:wizard:

Anyone know if the Everything Pop Food Court still has the Turkey Ciabatta Sandwich? :goodvibes

Thanks!

Hey there....we just got back yesterday from there. :sad1: POP does indeed still have the Turkey Ciabatta Sandwich. I never got the chance to have it for a meal. :headache: However, it looked super yummy!
