Going back to what I said earlier about all the lime green mickey heads running out at Home Depot.... No word of a lie.... I was there last night and ALL shades of green were gone!! I guess I'll have to wait till they restock so I can go and get some for my trip!

Based on the above, I think you should ask for the '80's or '90's sections. It's close to parking for sure, and because the pool is kind of blah there compared to the Hippie Dippy pool, I think it's not as popular with families as other sections.

90's is both very quiet and close to parking

Here in Tennessee, it's Coke...doesn't matter if it's Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Diet Rite or some store brand. It's all Coke, we can't be bothered to learn all those names!

When I stayed in March I stayed in the 50's section, Jukebox building, poolview. I was very close to parking, so I would think of you asked for 50's Jukebox, but not pool view, you would have a quiet area really close to parking. Good Luck!

In Ohio and Michigan it's Pop too. I think different areas of the country call it pop, while others call it soda. I have never had a problem with saying pop at Disney though. LOL!

I could be wrong, but I think you need to prearrange the rental of the ECV. At least I thought I read that once upon a time.
Also Pop doesn't have hallways, it's all open. If you want quiet, but close to the parking lot, I would say either 50's or 80/90's and make your request for a quiet location near the parking lot.

I have to agree with MsCoz. We stayed in the 50's, building 2 with a lake view and it was VERY close to parking and QUIET!!!!!

Hi everybody!
I am staying at the POP in October and I have a question regarding parking and how close it is to the rooms. I am taking my Mom who has difficulty walking (we will rent an ECV while there hopefully) and was wondering if the parking is far away from the rooms or no?

but her med issues are becoming more prevalent and as much as she tries to keep up it is trying on her. We are going with 3 kids so it should be fun.

With your mom's health issues you could call WDW Resort Special Needs and they can be sure you have a quiet room, close to parking. Explain her medical needs and what would help -they will block a room (or rooms if you have more than one). Special Needs CM's are very helpful:

I hae beed looking at all the info on rom locations !! We have standard rooms and #1 request is connectng DD wants the 60's so I could add that to the request list! Looking at the plans I see that many of the connecting rooms are King/double or have "D" I know this means Disabled Accesible but what exactly does accesible mean ????

For clarity on your first statement, are you looking at the following map?

If so, are you referring to the "D" on the room number or the building number? The "D" on the room number indicates it's a Double instead of King room. My guess, however, is you're referring to the "D" shown as a building that's disability accesible. In that case, it means those buildings have the rooms with disability accessible rooms. So back to your core question, disability accessible means the bathrooms are setup for wheelchair entry, showering, etc. and other room features are accommodating to those in a wheelchair (like the safe). There are really good visuals in the following link, which you'll also find in Post #1.

I grew up in East Tennessee lunching on a Moon Pie and an RC, neither of which are available in the World I bet, but we usually just asked for a Coke. EVERYBODY knew what you meant and wanted. Interestingly enough, the Frozen Coke drink that has gotten quite a run on the Pop Century boards is still available around here.

But, since we found out that our daughter is now going to come along too , I am thinking we may not have room for everything in the car. I've been looking at the Garden Grocer site and while I know I can buy some of the things cheaper at home, I'm considering placing an order.

Have any of you ordered from them? What was your experience? Postiive? Negative?

Just got back from our POP stay. Good news for all of those with little ones. The Kiddie pool was open when we arrived. I know someone was asking about half gallons of OJ. They did not have half gallons of OJ just Milk when I checked in the food court. There were only small bottles of OJ available.

We've used them three or four times, and they're GREAT! No complaints at all.

I grew up all over the South and like you, everything was/is "Coke"...if someone actually wanted a Coke, they'd ask for a Coca-Cola. When I moved North it was so weird - I'd ask for a Coke and they'd say, "We only have Pepsi products" ...it was all Coke to me! I'm still the same now - although my drink of choice has always been Sweet Tea. No sweet tea up north, so I'd just ordered "a coke".

Regardless how it's looked at, I agree with you that it's difficult to get connecting rooms purely based on the small percentage throughout the entire resort, much less when you add in handicapped accessible (HA) requirement for some!! BTW, to eliminate any assumptions, any of the rooms on the floorplan that are labeled in the color of dark teal (like xx70) or lilac (like xx22) are indeed HA rooms.

I crunched some numbers, and you may be surprised at the breakdown.

Resort's Connecting Rooms:

18 rooms per floor x 4 floors = 72 per building
72 per building x 10 buildings = 720 resort-wide Connecting Rooms (25% of resort's rooms)​

Handicapped Accessible (HA) Connecting Rooms

(8 rooms per floor x 4 floors) + 2 rooms on 1st floor = 34 rooms per building
34 rooms per building x 5 buildings = 170 HA Connecting Rooms (6% of resort's rooms)​

Non-HA Connecting Rooms

HA Buildings
(8 rooms per floor x 4 floors) + (2 rooms x 3 floors) = 38 per building
38 rooms per building x 5 buildings = 190 non-HA Connecting Rooms

+ ​

Non-HA Buildings
18 rooms per floor x 4 floors = 72 rooms per building
72 rooms per building x 5 buildings = 360 non-HA Connecting Rooms

190 + 360 = 550 Non-HA Connecting Rooms (19% of resort's rooms)​

I'm also trying to get connecting rooms for this trip....the past two times we stayed at Pop, we got a connecting room when we didn't need the other room! The first time we were in a standard double/double room in the 80's section (nice and close to the bus stops) The second time we were in a handicapped accesible King room in the 50's section (nice and close to the food court) Hopefully we can get a connecting room this trip when we actually need them! It was my only request....whichever building we get will be fine with me.

the "earning my ears" will change when you get to a certain number of posts. For the countdown ticker, you can click on any of the tickers you see in other poster's signatures and it will bring you to that site (tickerfactory, magicalkingdoms etc) make your ticker, copy the img (the site will display when you finish making the ticker) go to your cp, edit signature and paste the img into your signature.
