Well, during the limited vacation I have at Disney, my time is more valuable to me than my money. I think if people go more often, they might feel differently.

My WDW vacations are always very long, so I kind of have to map out exactly where Im going to eat, and what Im going to eat, etc. popcorn::

Have a wonderful fun vacation - ahh I can't wait to go back to POP!

You can get the mugs at the food court - You can't miss them there is a huge pile of them usually.

Thanks Melanie, (and all of the rest of you!), for the great info, you are all so friendly and helpful. Made planning much less stressful and much more magical!!

Less than 12 hours to go!!!!

Kind of a silly question, but has anyone here ever tried the "Cheesesteak Wrap" from "Everything Pop Dining"? I ask because I L-O-V-E Philly Cheese steaks, and was wondering if the wrap from here was any good? Does it come with fries?

I am seriously thinking about traveling all the way over to Port Orleans JUST to buy a Cheesesteak sandwich. :rotfl: There, they are only like $6.50, but at Planet Hollywood (one of my fav places to eat) they are like $13 bucks! I wouldnt consider myself a cheapskate.... just very "smart" about how I spend my money. :lmao:

Also, how are the "Cheese Fries" from here? Do they give you a BIG helping? Do they use Nacho, Sliced, or Shredded cheese?

The wrap is probably IMHO a little smaller than a traditional Philly but if you add the cheese fries you also spoke about I would seriously doubt you would leave the food court hungry.....Portions at POP are very good for the buck.

PS
Stay away from Planet Hollywood.....Food although good is not good on the wallet, unless you use that $15 coupon that you get if you book a package at check-in....

That's great to know. I knew there had to be some kind of system, AND I knew I'd find out when I got there, but now I am in the final countdown I am getting anxious about the most stupid of things. :lmao:

Thanks once again for everyone's input on this thread. I am so excited about going to Pop and my first visit to Disney World. :woohoo::yay::cheer2:

I am so excited for you Geeg!!! DW is soooooo much fun, you have no idea!! We went four years ago for our ONCE IN A LIFETIME trip & have been back every year since!! I think I'm the biggest Disney Nut I know, even more than my kids!

The cheesesteak wrap was the only thing I had at everything pop (or anywhere else, for that matter) that I didn't like. It was really, really salty.

Oddly enough, When I was in WDW for my honeymoon 10 years ago, I got a cheesesteak sandwich somewhere in the MK and it was also really salty.

The cheese fries are their regular fries topped with cheese sauce. I would call the portion size medium--not BIG, but not small either.

I don't eat at POP a whole lot, but I have never had the cheesesteak wrap. I did see a picture of it on the food pictures thread on the Restaurant Board. It looked good and I believe the poster said it was really good.

One thing I had a ASsports last month that was better than expected (and they have it at POP) was the Chicken and Alfredo Penne Pasta with breadstick. It was really really good. Also the ceasar salad with chicken was excellent too. Just don't eat too late at night. The second time I had that it left that garlicky taste in my mouth the next day.

I have always enjoyed the chicken fingers with the Kens honey mustard sauce at POP. They were always enjoyable.

Found the thread with the cheesesteak (man this new search engine is just the bomb - I can find stuff so fast and easy now).

Good picture find, Melanie! Yes, that cheesesteak does look great. :)

My kids all loved the fresh breadsticks served at the pizza counter. You get 3 of them with a side of tomato sauce. We used snack credits to get them, but if paying cash, I think they're only $1.79 and well worth that price.

Oh my gosh guys, I am so excited! I am leaving for WDW – staying at POP on May 10th!!! Reading this board makes me so excited!! It is a wonderful thread; I learn something new every day!
Ha! I just wanted to say when I read on an earlier post, someone asked about a cheesteak wrap, I accidently read cheese CAKE wrap and I thought, what is that? it sounds delicious!” LOL.

I have a really cool tip for anyone who is going over to Animal Kingdom Lodge. Apparently at night you can look at the animals through night vision goggles! Cool eh?

Only 23 more sleeps till Disney!

I know what the PP was asking about the type of cheese. You never know what to expect in a new area. I remember once ordering nachos for my young son and expecting something like you'd get at Taco Bell (or a fair or ball park or something similar) - chips with cheese sauce on them or next to them to dip in. He got the nachos, but with shredded cheese sprinkled over them and then "toasted", so it was kind of a crunchy texture. Of course he (being a kid) refused to eat them. This wasn't at WDW, but we've learned to ask exactly what they are like in a new locale!

I have 13 days left for Disney and the Sanchez Family can't hardly wait to go! Staying in POP! Oh! One more thing I forgot! I forgot the name the bar in POP!

Wow - the countdown is getting close. I'm super jealous.

The name of the bar at POP is Petal's Pool Bar. :hippie:

That is a good price unless they have recently raised the price. The 3 breadsticks at AsSports was over $2.00.

I was thinking of ordering them - but asking for the alfredo sauce. The alfredo sauce was so good.

what drinks do they have in Petal's bar!

From right here on the DIS. It is dated 8/06, but this should give you an idea.
