The GROOVIER New Pop Century FAQ Thread Chapter 2! ~ Post #1 is a must see!

We just returned from a week at POP. We used a twin size air mattress for our DD7. We flew so I bought one at Walmart that came with a foot pump. ($20)No problem fitting it in one of our suitcases.

We moved the table and 1 chair down to the corner closest the window, put the mattress on the floor between media centre and table. The 2nd chair we put in closet behind shoe organiser I brought.(lifesaver) Because it was a twin mattress we didn't have to move it during the day there was room to get by it, I do believe that a larger mattress would fit there, that you would have to move during day.
As long as you don't need to use the door to the connecting room, here's what we did. We moved the table and chairs all the way to the corner by the closet and slid the dresser/tv down that way, so we had the rest of the wall free. We were able to put the packnplay crib and park two strollers on that wall with room left over, so a twin mattress would definitely fit.

Thank you both! I definitely think we will get one. We are taking the train so I can probably take it with us and if I can't fold it up to get it home, oh well. The small amount we will spend will be worth it!

Trivet is what you are thinking of. :)

Yep - this is what I mean, lol

I think that they make some out of a silicone material that would probably be light and easy to bring. If you use a coffee pot on the table, I think this would help keep the heat from burning the table.

:thumbsup2This is such a helpful thread, thanks Kimberly, the first post alone, WOWZA! Everything you ever needed to know, there it is:goodvibes
Thanks for the scavenger hunt also, Melanie C, very fun! :)

I know there's a pic on the first page of the safe with a laptop in it. But, does anyone have a picture of the safe with multiple items in it. We usually stay at the CBR and I've been able to fit a portable DVD player, PSP, set of keys and all of my husbands meds. in it. Just wondering how much I can fit in the Pop safes.

The safes at POP are a bit deeper than the CBR safes, but not as quite tall. We've never used it for a laptop, but my friend's DVD player did fit, with our wallets, passports, keys and a couple of meds. Depending how many meds you have, it might work.

There is a photo somewhere of a lot of meds in the POP safe - mostly meds, cannot recall what else. Sorry, no idea where to find that photo.

Hope it works for you. :goodvibes

These are not super huge. Our portable DVD player wouldn't fit in there (too large), but it's the kind that plugs into the car or a tv. Maybe the tiny ones that just run off a battery (and probably a plug might).

We keep our laptops and DVD player in the room (not really hiding them) and have never had a problem.

Thanks! Our DVD player is the kind that has a battery but can also be plugged into the car cigarette lighter. Of course, the PSP is thin so I know that won't be a problem. Some of my husband's med bottles are pretty big around. At the CBR, I stacked them all on top of each other so I guess I could do that at Pop at well.

Hopefully, somebody will have a pic of a safe with other items in it. I just need something to put it into perspective.

That's Awesome!!! I may just print that out & make my kids do that! What a great idea!!

Kimberly, you have done an amazing job with the information on the opening post! I haven't found the previous Pop threads, but this thread is great! I found so much info just in that post. Also, thanks to all the other posters. I have added several things to my packing list. Including 4 cup coffee maker, air mattress and power cord. I'm also planning on mailing a package to the resort.

I will be going to Pop for the second time in Oct. Last time it was just my daughter and I...my sisters were there with their families, but different rooms. This time it will be my family (me, dh, 4 kids and inlaws). My sister (plus her dh and 4 kids) and my mother will be there as well, but seperate rooms. I loved Pop last time and can't wait to see how my little boys react to it. This is their first time at Disney!

These are great! To heck with the kids. I might do this myself on my first night of my solo trip. :thumbsup2

In less than 17 hours my family and I will be boarding a plane for WDW and our first stay at the Pop! After obsessively reading the first post over and over again, I feel pretty prepared for our trip...So why do I still feel like I'm forgetting something?!? Ooh, ooh, I know! Where do we buy the refillable mugs, at the food court or the gift shop? Can't wait to get there!!:dance3:

Hahaha I don't believe this - but I leave in 2 days, and I am so grateful to everyone who has contributed to this thread, especially Buckeye Gal of course - BUT I was about to post the very same question as you just have.

Where do you actually buy the refillable mugs, is it with the food or in the shop? and can you just go and use them straight away after buying them? (Using the wash station first of course)?

Yes you can use them right away.

Yes you can use them right away.

Thanks jenseib :thumbsup2

And one final question on the refillable mugs -

if we get some food, go to the checkout to pay for it, but we happen to have our mugs on our trays (that we bought the day before) how do they know not to charge us for them over again? (or should we not place them on our trays?)
