Thanks jenseib :thumbsup2

And one final question on the refillable mugs -

if we get some food, go to the checkout to pay for it, but we happen to have our mugs on our trays (that we bought the day before) how do they know not to charge us for them over again? (or should we not place them on our trays?)

They know because they have a security type device on them before they are bought. When purchased the cashier will remove it, thus they will know if its been purchased previously or right then

That's great to know. I knew there had to be some kind of system, AND I knew I'd find out when I got there, but now I am in the final countdown I am getting anxious about the most stupid of things. :lmao:

Thanks once again for everyone's input on this thread. I am so excited about going to Pop and my first visit to Disney World. :woohoo::yay::cheer2:

We are only going to be at Pop for 3 nights so it doesn't make sense for me to try to do a fridge swap, since we arrive late and leave early and I dont want to tie up my time trying to swap. But I do agree that the swap idea is great especially for those staying a bit longer. Is there an expresso maker swap:rotfl:? That I would be willing to tie up my time for!!!

It's not an espresso maker, but there is a coffee pot only swap:

I don't know about your dates, but may be worth checking out!

Have a great vacation!

Hey, I've recently made a "special Request" for my stay at POP Century, and was wondering how likely it will be for me to actually get what I requested?

I still am 3+ months out from my trip, and called a week ago and requested "Floor/Era/View" and am hoping I get what I want. What are the chances I will?

:hyper:

Hi!

I'm not sure I understand your request - did you name a floor number, ?? and a view? Chances are you'll get the first request and maybe all 3..but...at check in ask the CM if they were able to meet your requests, if not, then ask if they would please check to see if a room that meets your requests might be available. We've always gotten a room that way, if it was not pre-assigned to where we hoped for.

Good luck and have a great trip!!! :goodvibes

Yeah, I requested what floor I want to be on, which Era I want to be at, what view I want looking out from my room (Lake view).

Since my trip is still a ways out, I was curious if I will likely get everything I have requested, or if the chances are only "so-so"?

When I told the WDW lady my requests over the phone, she made it sound like it wouldnt be a problem. I was just wondering what the likelyhood is I'll get what I want? :3dglasses

I have both got what I requested assigned and aked for another room when what they assigned wasn't what wanted! They obliged me !! I have requested standard, 60's or 70's 1st floor I think I put 1st flor first as that is my biggie I will let you know if I got what I wanted!!

They only make room assignments a few days out (3-5 it seems is the general consensus) so they don't block a room out for you as soon as you make a request (it's not like an ADR).

It also depends on what there is available, and how flexible you're willing to be. People who came before you might still be in those rooms, and they aren't leaving for a few days. People who got there earlier in the day than you could also have gotten them. It really depends on what there is when you get to the check-in desk. You can always ask before they print your KTTWK where you are, and see if that fits in with your request.

If there is something that fits your criteria, you could see if you could get that. If there is something that fits 2 out of the 3, you might need to be flexible and grab that.

Good luck! :thumbsup2

DUH!! I didn't get the Era part for some reason. :confused3 Brain not working tonight. ;)

We make the same requests and usually works out fine..but as we've all said - ask again at check-in and the CM's are pretty good about trying to find wha a guest would like. ::yes::

Sweet! Thanks guys. You've put me at ease. :thumbsup2

So, out of all the buildings at POP, which floor would you recommend? For me its either the 1st or 4th. I dont really like anything in the middle. If Im going to be closer to the ground, I might aswell be on the ground floor. And if Im up off the ground, I might aswell be on the top floor. :surfweb:

Anyway, I would guess the top (4th) floor is excellent for a nice view and also not having noisy people above you. However, I would guess the bottom floor is fastest when leaving your room to get to the busses. But then I would guess the first floor is probably the loudest.? :confused3

:hippie:

I agree with all your descriptions, which is why my #1 preference is to have a 4th floor room (want the quiet!). I've also heard that on the first floor in some locations you can have people hanging out right outside your door, either socializing or smoking, or whatever.

We always request 4th floor, fireworks view. Or 4th floor lake side...oh, and 50's is my fav era. :) So far, we've always had that location. It's definitely quieter. :)

I hate those noisy people! I've had some that were 15 feet outside of my room, laughing and yelling at eachother having a good ol' time. But I was trying to relax and watch TV and settle down. :headache:

So the higher floors are my favorite! :woohoo:

Hey, does anyone know how much the refillable mugs cost at POP? I heard they were like $12 at other, higher end resorts. I am hoping they're cheaper and I was thinking about buying a refillable mug from POP, and taking it to Port Orleans and using it there. I hope that is allowed. Otherwise, maybe no one would notice.

Last I saw they were $12.49 at Pop as well. Probably the same across the board or some Disney cheapskates would be driving from the GF over to Pop to save the $3 or so! :rotfl:

The refillable mugs have always been the same price no matter the resort. We've paid the same at GF and POP. :thumbsup2 Now the mugs are no longer resort exclusive designs, but not sure about using it at other resorts...have never done that. :flower3:

In less than 17 hours my family and I will be boarding a plane for WDW and our first stay at the Pop! After obsessively reading the first post over and over again, I feel pretty prepared for our trip...So why do I still feel like I'm forgetting something?!? Ooh, ooh, I know! Where do we buy the refillable mugs, at the food court or the gift shop? Can't wait to get there!!:dance3:

Have a wonderful fun vacation - ahh I can't wait to go back to POP!

You can get the mugs at the food court - You can't miss them there is a huge pile of them usually.

Kind of a silly question, but has anyone here ever tried the "Cheesesteak Wrap" from "Everything Pop Dining"? I ask because I L-O-V-E Philly Cheese steaks, and was wondering if the wrap from here was any good? Does it come with fries?

I am seriously thinking about traveling all the way over to Port Orleans JUST to buy a Cheesesteak sandwich. :rotfl: There, they are only like $6.50, but at Planet Hollywood (one of my fav places to eat) they are like $13 bucks! I wouldnt consider myself a cheapskate.... just very "smart" about how I spend my money. :lmao:

Also, how are the "Cheese Fries" from here? Do they give you a BIG helping? Do they use Nacho, Sliced, or Shredded cheese?

Well, during the limited vacation I have at Disney, my time is more valuable to me than my money. I think if people go more often, they might feel differently.
