The Griswalds aka The Marsons Do Disney - Mom, Dad a power ranger and a princess! 4/9

Yep, except I have two little granddaughters coming with me and one of them is TERRIFIED of thunder and lightening. THAT would be a challenge. Hopefully it will all be ok. I've heard it is a great time because the crowds thin out so much which would be nice.

Oh I understand completely. DS has an ASD and was TERRIFIED last year during the storms but he made it out unscathed and still can't wait to go back.

I'd rather be in Disney during a hurricane than home in ANY weather! ;)

Isn't it too exciting? Now I'm panicking about ADRs and things I need to buy and pack. Ack! :scared1:

Are you on the DDP, where are you staying? Are you doing MNSSHP?

Poor thing, i'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you. Less crowds would be great!
 Hoping on board here! We are going to Mickey's next month too! I love saying that don't you? I've been so excited for this day!

I titled my pre-trippie after my fav movie too so I totally understand! :lmao: It caught my eye.

Adorable family. Cannot wait to read more!

It was the first thing i said when i woke up this morning! Seems very surreal! We've waited so long and then it comes round so fast!

Don't you just love the Griswalds?

Thanks for the kind comment on the family!:goodvibes

We are staying 3 nights at Pop/6 nights at WL. The nights at WL we have DDP. I'm thinking of adding on the nights at Pop as well.

Fab! We are staying at Pop for the first night. I have never stayed there before but have heard some great reviews.

We might see you around!

You will enjoy POP, but your kiddos will absolutely adore it! If they are Disney fans, you may not be able to covince them to move when it is time to switch. lol. It is a very family friendly place. We are arriving on the 26th of this month, staying at CS for the first time.

Hi and welcome!

The theming looks amazing, i would imagine they would want to stop instead of switching to POR! I will have to bribe them with POR water slide!

You must be so sxcited, you are going away this month!!

:lmao: Sliding down the dragons tongue should work for sure! When we were considering POR I kept showing pictures of the POFQ pool because my ds wanted that dragon slide. Now we are at POP the whole time I'm afraid he'll be disappointed! :lmao:

He will love the theming at POP for sure and those swimming pools are massive!

Time for next installment!

Going to be posting some piccies of our June trip last year tonight, but for now will explain the pre trip report name.

As well as loving the film National Lampoons, when we were on vacation last June we had a number of set backs just like the Griswalds! Well maybe not quite as bad as them! If i had as many problems as the Griswolds i don't think i would bother going on vacation again!:rotfl:

We went for 14 days last June and within ten minutes of arriving at POR we got to the room and George who was 3 at the time decided to jump on the bed as he was excited. Straight away he fell right on the floor hitting his bed on a solid wooden bed frame. I'm not kidding you he cried so hard bless him and the lump on his head was massive. Luckily after a cold compress the lump went down but for three or four days after it really knocked his confidence.

About a week or so into the vacation George woke up in the night very sick. Obviously with the heat and high humidity he felt worse. We were unfortunatly confined to the room for three days, with either myself or my husband Chris taking Madeline out. It was so awful for him and i felt so helpless not being able to do anything, because us Mommy's are meant to make everything ok!

Coming home we had a free shuttle from Downtown Disney with Virgin Holidays. For flights to the UK you have to be at the airport three hours pre departure. Our flight was at half past five of the evening. The shuttle was scheduled to pick us up at 2.00 of the afternoon.
2.00pm goes by with no sign of the shuttle as does 2.30pm. At this time myself and all the other passengers are starting to panic:scared1:
Well the coach turns up, he loads on our cases and guess what the coach does not start:scared1: :scared1:
He then has to call in another coach. By this time it is now nearly three.
The new coach comes, everyones tempers are fraying and we get to the airport at 4.15pm:eek:

With two small children, the two strollers and all our luggage it was so hard trying to all run. We then went through security and the line was huge. I got stopped and was taken around to the side and told to sit on a chair and searched throughly by a female officer. Once this was done we literally had moments to spare and the gate was the farthest away. At the end of the corridor we saw a number of people waving like mad shouting for us to be quick as the flight was just closing:eek:

We just made it, but of course got on the plane and with everyone seated all the passengers just stared at us. It was just awful.

There were 14 people who were on that shuttle with us who missed the flight:sad2:

Well, lets hope this time round things go smoother.

Will post some piccies later tonight:thumbsup2

Hey! Stopping over to say hello! I read a little bit of your trip report and then I came upon your layover in Atlanta and skimmed through to see if anyone replied. We come from Minnesota and I have stopped over in Atlanta many times. With a two hour layover, you should be fine even coming in on an international flight. I'm not sure where customs drops you off but the Atlanta airport is spread out with walkways and trains in between each concourse. You most likely will have to travel a ways to get to your gate and it will probably take you longer than you think. I feel like I always come in on Concourse A and then have to run to Concourse E. There are quite a few things to eat in each concourse so I would recommend heading straight to your gate, double check the flight time and then get something to eat if you are hungry. Good luck! I'm sure everything will go well!

Eep! What a nightmare! I can't imagine. I would have FREAKED out. I don't deal well with stress lol. Did George's bump show up in pictures?

Thanks so much for that. I heard that it is all connected by trains and that the airport is quite big.
I take it you have to collect your bags and then drop them off again?

Yes only for the first couple of days though thankfully.

I'm not good with stress either and i hate having to rush.

Some pictures as promised!

These pictures are from last years trip. We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside from June 16th till June 30th.

A tradition of ours we always visit Magic Kingdom first, just because seeing that castle for the first time makes me start crying with happiness:rolleyes: :)

So thought i would start with some Magic Kingdom piccies.

Here is George

DisneyPhotoImage1-1.jpg

Madeline was in love with all the characters and before the characters signed her book she had to have a kiss off themprincess:

Here she is moving in for a kiss with Mickey

DisneyPhotoImage167.jpg

Once Madeline let George say hello, they both had a piccie with Mickey together. I had this particular shot framed for family members

DisneyPhotoImage165.jpg

This piccie of Madeline makes me chuckle as i think Madeline looks too cute!

Theres tonights lot for you :)

Even looking at them now brings a tear to my eye.

Aside from Disney, i'm feeling really tired tonight. I've just come home from the gym after a long workout, but feel so much better for it.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Sarah

I LOVE the pics! Your kids are absolutely gorgeous. And btw I ALWAYS cry when I see the castle. It's just so overwhelming!

Hey everyone!

How is everyone doing today?

Just put my little boy George to bed and i can't help but feel upset:sad1:

He starts school tomorrow and i can't help but feel sad that he is growing up, silly aren't i??

Will post piccies tomorrow
