The Goodys go to Disney!! POFQ - May 2009 - 8 Days - Deluxe Dining & 630 Pics!!

I have to say, I just love looking at the pictures of your boys, they are too cute!

I love that when you are at your breaking point at Disney, there is something like your Le Cellier dinner that just puts you back into the Disney Spirit. :goodvibes

I love your trip report. Sorry it was so hot on your trip. I hate heat and humidity too! Can't wait to read the rest of it.

Sorry I am just now replying!! I have been really busy this weekend and I just started making our 15 t-shirts for our trip NEXT WEEK:scared1:(technically we don't leave until next Wed but I can now officially say "next week")

I am LOVING your report. I have never eaten at the Plaza. It looked really good. We'll have to check it out someday.

So, I teared up reading about you tearing up for Illuminations:rotfl:I agree, I don't know what it is about that show that gets me, but it gets me every time!

I had one of those grey goose slushies last time. Yummo!!!

Ok, 2 questions. I could probably find the answeres to these on my own but I am going to be lazy since I am in the middle of iron on craziness...

1) How do you set up a call from Mickey to your house?
2) What is the Kimpossible mission thing all about? You get texts on your phone?

Can't wait to hear more!!!

Loving your trippie so far Subscribing to continue reading tomorrow as its midnight here just now!LOL

Just had to say your day at Hollywood studios sounds so similar to ours! My boys are massive massive star wars fans and I made personalised t-shirts for them to wear that day and we stood for ages at the front of the jedi academy stage, very well behaved and patiently and a few Mum's pushed their kids past my boys as well! Needless to say their kids were picked and my boys were very very upset, my eldest is 9 and has ADHD so he found this really hard to accept as he waited so patiently and my 7yr old is Autistic so he just went into meltdown mode! It was such a nightmare and we just had to leave after that. Why do some parents think its fair for them to turn up late and push their kids to the front when other children have waited so patiently for such a long time before it starts?

Sorry rant over....:goodvibes

We also waited for an hour to see the Bolt Characters when we went but it was well worth it as you say as they played so well with the kids and they were chasing them around and having great fun! Really fab interaction!

Cant' wait to read more tomorrow....when my eyelids aren't coming together!:rotfl2:

I figured I would jump in and help out with these...

1.) We used Disney's Enchanted Calls for the Mickey call. Just go to Disney's Enhanted Calls and its really easy to set up. They also have Pooh, Tigger, and a bunch of princesses.

2.) It's awesome...you first have to go to a sign-up station. I saw two...one was over on the way to World Showcase and the other was, I believe, near Mouse Gear (can't quite remember if that was there or not). They will give you a ticket with a country and time printed on it. You have to go to that country listed after the time listed and you can pick up your Kim-municator and mission there.

They give you a cell phone to use and tell you which country your mission will be in. Wade is your guide on the cell phone as well as Kim and Ron. Wade will give you specific assignments which usually require you to find a specific landmark or artifact in that country. Then, by entering OK on your phone, it will usually trigger something to happen. I don't want to give too much away about that, but its pretty cool. When you are done with your specific mission, it will ask you if you want to do another or drop off your Kim-municator. There is usually a secret drop place nearby.

I highly recommend it. We love EPCOT, but sometimes it can get rather boring for the kids. This is a nice way to make the countries more inviting for them...

Thank you- I am LOVING my New England weather let me tell you. I was so hot that this cool air feels GREAT!!!

Hi Talissa!! I asked Wayne to reply to you because he is so sweet- he set that call up for us and he is also the one that did the mission with the kids. I took pictures! lol

I can't believe you go back next week. How fun!! I can't wait to hear all about it.

I hope you get a good rest!! I can't believe how many people out there have had the same experience at Jedi Training. WOW! I don't think we will be back to that one. The Bolt guys were awesome!! We were lucky- I think we saw them on their last week.

Really great trip report!!! I'm getting so pumped for our trip next month reading this! lol!! Can't wait for more installments! Your kids are absolutely adorable!

Oh Thank you!!!! Your so lucky. So sad my trip is over.

Thanks babe!!

Your family is so cute! We were there that same week (5/4-5/10) but it doesn't look like our park days overlapped any. I am impressed that your 22 month old did so well- our 23 month old did well except at dinner, where he had a meltdown almost every time!

can't wait to read more about your adorable family!

Alright! I'm all caught up with your TR even though I know what you guys were up to by following your tweets! Is Wayne having a hard time not tweeting his next move!?!:rotfl: I can just see myself tweeting everytime I go to Target now!!

I'm so happy we got to meet at the Plaza! Your boys are ADORABLE!! I love Owen's reaction to seeing Pluto! I teared up at Chef Mickey's. This was the first year Emily wasn't afraid of them and she was in full hug mode with all of them!

Can't wait to here more about your magical family vacation!

Another great update. Beautiful Epcot pictures. As a mother of two boys (who are now 14 and 16) your pictures are like taking a trip down memory lane because I can remember when my kids were that age. I didn't take my boys to Disney until they were 7 and 9. Still, I remember vacations when my kids were young. enjoy every minute because it goes FAST!

Hi!
I am really enjoying your trip report!
Your boys are soo cute! I really love that Pluto picture :)
My family and I were at POFQ the exact same days you were (you arrived a day earlier than us and left a day earlier) and we never saw you!

Hi my twin Nickie-I just want to say that MY boys have those shorts from Old Navy that YOUR boys are wearing in your Epcot pics:rotfl:

I love the pic of the kissing brothers, and the silly shots from Illuminations!:goodvibes

Le Cellier looks delicious! We have just booked up for next year and DH upgraded us to the deluxe dining! I have to say I thought it may be too much food and some of the reports I've read seem to say that as well but well...DH does like his food!:rotfl2:

I think we will prob do Table Service at Breakfast and Dinner and just do counter service at Lunch as the kids aren't huge eaters either so it may just be a bit much for them...but there are sooo many lovely restaurants its hard not to want to eat in them all when you have the opportunity isn't it?;)

The Kim Possible mission thing looks like good fun and I think it would be something my boys' would be able to get into doing too!

Another fab day can't wait to read more!

What a great TR so far! All the others I have been reading are ending, so I was hunting for a new one to get my Disney fix before we leave in 3 weeks and got into yours!

I love how Myles is holding his rabbit in all those pics! How cute!

I really want to eat at the Plaza soon, did you like it? How were the fries? I usually don't like the big fries, but some of their sandwiches look so good I might just eat there.

Your boys are just precious! I was tearing up at some of the pictures. I have 2 boys myself (13 mos apart) so I was rememebring our first trip when they were just 4 and 5. Nothing compares to when they're that little and just reveling in the magic. They will be 7 and 8 on our next trip and my 8 yo is already saying how nothing is real in Disney

Too funny we were there the same time! Owen was amazing. Myles the 5 year old had acouple of meltdowns (but that is because he doesnt nap!) Did you go back mid day for a swim/rest at your hotel? I swear that is what saved us!! Owen was good but I also had to hold him most meals. That was tough because he has to feed himself and he got me pretty messy!!!

He is still doing it now- he was having tweet withdrawls!! lol :rotfl2:

"Full hug mode" - so cute.... I cant wait to see pics of Emily with the characters.
I am also so glad we could meet you. Your family is great!!! I cant wait to hear more about your trip.

I sure do enjoy these boys!! Today is my first day back at work and it is ROUGH! I miss them so much. I spent every minute for the last two & 1/2 weeks with them and being at work today alone is pretty lonely. :sad1:

Hi Twin! Of course your boys would have those shorts!!!! :rotfl2:
I have some more kissing brother photo's to share. they were so cute this trip... they really enjoyed eachother - it was really cute to watch.

About the deluxe... we thought it was too much food but also loved that we could eat whatever/whenever we wanted. The tips add up too- especially when you eat 3 TS a day!! We thought the best thing next time would be a TS for breakfast because we love the character meals in the park before park opening.... a snack credit for lunch.... and then a 2 TS meal for dinner (a dinner show, or a signature place)

Do try Kim Possible if you can. It was so much fun.

I liked the Plaza- except for those ladies- they were SO loud. The food was good though.

Thank you on the compliments!! Myles loves stuffed animals- wait for more pics, you will see he has them in all his pictures!!

aww- those are great ages for your next trip!! I cant believe the 8 year old - I am going to be so sad when that happens!!!! We saw Remy on our last day at chef de France- Myles FREAKED out... he was so excited. He said "OMG I cant believe we just met the REAL Remy!!!"

Now this is what I'm talking about!!!!!! That looks so good. I can only imagine how good this must of tasted after walking around in the heat all day!
--Wayne... Do you remember what beers made up this flight??

I have just caught up. I've been super busy with work(only to get busier!!!) It seems like you were having a great time so far. I don't know if I missed it but how did you guys like PO?? I was thinking of it when I booked our last trip but we ended up at CSR.

Today was one of our BEST days at Disney!

First stop: We had an 8:05 ADR at the Tusker House for breakfast! Here we are enjoying a very empty Animal Kingdom!!

After breakfast around 9:00AM the huge mass of people started rushing towards the safari. We were right next to it and would have been first to ride it, but we were meeting up with Wayne's brother and his niece, so we waited for them. They got to us around 9:15.

We got the fastpass and it said to come back in 1.5 hours... we decided to go walk around a little with them. Well as we were walking this CM (James) said, "Hey did you get your fastpasses for the Safari?" and we said yes.... and he said, "Put those in your pocket. You can go on right now if you want and use those later". It was AWESOME!!! We walked down - no line.... there was a jeep waiting for us. We were practically the only ones in the jeep. Wayne said he felt like he was in the movie "Goodfellas".

We saw so many animals. They would come right up to the jeep and look in. It was AMAZING!!!!
