The Goodys go to Disney!! POFQ - May 2009 - 8 Days - Deluxe Dining & 630 Pics!!

Just joining. So far it's great. Your boys are the cutest little guys. Looking forward to more of your TR.

Thanks for the review of Narcosee's. I am thinking about eating there the next time I go solo with just my DH. Loving the food pics. Heck....Loving all the pics! Your boys seem so well behaved.

Narcosse's was great! I had the crabcakes as an appetizer and the surf and turf as an entree. Both were excellent. Those crab cakes were hella-good. Nickie had the duck roll and some chicken dish which she also said was awesome. That almond-crusted cheesecake was also extremely good. And the atmosphere is spectacular...right on the water with a nice view of the castle.

Myles and Owen are so sweet! I love the pic of them hugging (savor that...it does not last long--2006 Gwendolyn talked Dayne into a photo session {for mother's day gift}and they have one hugging*my fav* they both said ewe when I commented); seeing all your meals really makes me sad I did not go w/the DDP (just was not in the budget--this time).

As Wayne mentioned maybe it wasnt the best choice we made, going deluxe! We were FULL all the time, and I think at lunch to have the flexibility to have lunch at a CS or at the hotel or just a snack would have worked out better. We felt like we should stick to the TS and have a big meal and desset and app because we had paid for it, but by the 3rd day, we were over that and started splitting things, and just having what we wanted.

Loving this TR! :cool1:

Your kids are the same age as mine so I'll be reading closely to see what I can expect when we go to Disney next month!

It was a little tough with the little guy. He is a good napper though, and when he was tired, he would sleep. One night,he fell asleep at 9:30PM right after the fireworks, and we stayed and took turns going on rides with Myles. We rode Buzz 3 times that night- it was so much fun!!

I would say that, while we did love the DDP and who knows what we will end up doing next time, it was A LOT of food. We skipped dessert a few times and were just so full most of the time. I am not saying we won't do it again...but we did discuss doing mostly signature meals for dinner and using it for breakfast, but doing CS for lunch next time. It was really at lunch that it felt like too much food.

Just joining. So far it's great. Your boys are the cutest little guys. Looking forward to more of your TR.

Thank you!! They were not too cute today!! My 5 year old was so fresh... and the baby was fresh too. I think having them out of their routine has really messed them up this week. They are not acting like themselves!!

That would be so nice. It was a really nice place.

I wish we were there right now... it would have been so much better than the PB&J sandwich we had for dinner tonight!!! :rotfl:

Today Stitch and Mickey woke us up around 6:45AM and we left around 7:15for DHS. We were there and at the gate by 7:45. Our Breakfast at Hollywood & Dine was at 8:05. Today was going to be hot!!!

IMG_1937.jpg

This was one of my favorite breakfasts last time we were there. The Characters are not so popular, but they are awesome with the kids. They sing and dance with them, and they spend lots of time visiting and hugging and interacting with the kids. Plus, the food is great here. Our server here was one of the best we experienced the whole trip.

Leo was AWESOME!! He wrote in Myles book "Congratulations on your Graduation" and you could see Myles felt so special.

At 8:55 we went outside to see the CRAZY PEOPLE ready to RUN to TSM! We could'nt even get in line it was so packed. When they dropped the rope people RAN (most of them were speed walking) but it was a little scary. I just kind of sat back and we saw Stitch so we went over for a picture and to say hi. Owen picked a flower and gave it to him. Stitch loved it. Wayne was "walking fast" to get us some fast passes to use later in the day.

Once we met back up with daddy, we went to check out the Jedi Training. Daddy had on one of his birthday presents -"Worlds Greatest Dad- Darth Vader T-Shirt) and Myles had on his special Star Wars shirt. We got there 20 minutes early and were in the first row. Can I just tell you- I have NEVER been so hot in my entire life. There was NO shade- and we stood out there dripping in sweat waiting for this show to start. Here is where some not very magical stuff happend.

About 3 mins before the show started, the parents in back of us pushed their kids to the front. They were holding big signs blocking Myles and his new little friend he had met in line. Of course those kids were picked and ours were left sad they were not chosen. I couldn't believe how rude the parents were during that show. I was so annoyed with all of the people around me that I told Wayne I didn't even want to watch the show, so we backed up and got lot's of angry grunts and looks, and left.

Myles rode Star Tours, and LOVED it and we put the Jedi Training behind us and moved on with our day. We went and did Muppets in 3D - which was really cute (We love the muppets) - Owen even sat through the whole show and laughed and loved when the bubbles came out!!

IMG_1957.jpg

After the Muppets, we got a fast pass for Aerosmith Rockin RollerCoaster and watched the High School Musical Show. Myles and I went on Toy Story Mania and Daddy hung out with a sleeping Owen. We LOVED this ride. It was SO much fun!! Even with the FastPasses, we waited about 10 minutes to get in. At noon, if we got a fastpass the return time was after 6PM!! We headed to 50's PrimeTime next. It was SO nice to get into the AC. This was the hottest day yet. I couldn't believe how hot it was.

50's Prime Time was really good. I think my favorite part was the Brownie Sundae we got for dessert. Our waitress was trying to be funny with us, but Myles was a little shy and everytime she came around he would hide under the table. I got the Pot Roast, Wayne got Fried Chicken. I think we both agreed that his was better than mine. It was just SO hot out and Pot Roast was such a huge meal for lunch!! We got the onion rings to share and it was a small order, but they were yummy!! Oh and Wayne got the Peanut butter and Jelly Milkshake which was DELISH!!!

IMG_1970.jpg

After lunch, Daddy and Owen went on TSM and Owen loved it. Daddy rode Rockin Roller Coaster while we waited in a shady spot. Then we went over to meet Bolt. First, Myles and I went into the Animation of Disney show with Mushu. It was really cold in there - it felt so good. The show was very cute. Myles really liked it. Mushu was so funny! We saw a trailer for the new movie "Up" and of course Myles said he wants to see it!! After the show we went to the Bolt and Rhino line. We waited 60 minutes!!! This was the LONGEST we waited for anything our entire trip. I did meet some really nice moms in line, and we chatted. Wayne yells over to us when we are 4 people away, "they just said no more guests- they are leaving" Well, I knew he was kidding but some of the people in line were like "WHAT!!!???" I had to say - He is just kidding!!!!! Everyone laughed. It was pretty funny.

IMG_1972.jpg

Bolt and Rhino probably spent 4 minutes with my kids. I think that is why the line was taking so long. They were playing with the kids. It was SO cute. Rhino took Myles stuffed Animal and was putting it in his mouth trying to eat it. The boys LOVED them and it ended up being worth the wait.

Quick story: While we were waiting in line, right when we got to the front of it, this little boy shows up and stands in front of us- by himself. I didn't care that he cut us... but I was more concerned that he was alone. It turns out, he was with a big family, and they left him in line to wait while they went and did something else. This boy was probably 4 or 5! I couldn't believe it. We told the CM and about 5 mins later the mom came back and yelled at him for cutting. Could you imagine leaving your child at Disney World!?? Maybe I am just a freak (well, I am.. most of you probably already know that about me) but, I am making sure my kids are with me at all times. I wouldn't even let Myles go into the bathroom alone with me waiting outside!

By this time, it was after 3 and we had missed the parade and needed to get back and get ready for our dinner reservation at Raglan Road. We had So much fun at Hollywood Studios. Even though it was so hot- we managed to do most of what we wanted and had lot's of laughs!!!

When we got back to our room, this was waiting for us. I think I mentioned when I tipped $5.00 we got cute towel animals, and when we tipped $3.00 we got none. Today we had tipped $5.00.

We stay at POFQ for the boat to DTD. We love it!!

We were at DTD in time for our 6:30 reservation at Raglan Road. Owen was kind of crazy during this meal. I think I have mentioned a million times, today was SO hot. He was tired and hot and a little cranky. I had to hold him the entire meal again.

Wayne got crabmeat salad, and Mussels for dinner, and I got Chicken Skewers and a salad for dinner. The food here was so good. Wayne had a beer flight, and I had a nice cold bud light. We were both kind of full from lunch and all the food on the deluxe dining plan. I probably ate one skewer and 5 bites of my salad. For dessert we split the Warm Bread Pudding. OMG- even though I was full, I couldn't stop eating this. It was DELISH!!!!!!

After dinner, we went and did some shopping. Myles found Brer Rabbit - you would think he won the lottery! He was SO excited.

IMG_1991.jpg

We grabbed our first Mickey Bars and got back on the boat to go back to the hotel and sleep. Wayne went for a run (Crazy- huh!!?? I could hardly walk!) Another great day in Disney!

Up Next: Day 4- Epcot (Princess Breakfast, FoodCourt POFQ, LeCellier)

What a great TR here! Nicely done and fab photos!!! Glad to hear you had so much fun. Looking forward to the rest! popcorn::

Keep them coming...enjoying the fun...Ashton loves the characters; I didn't even think about Leo and June...

Just signing on for the TR! I love the pic of the boys in the stroller w/ the Mickey bars. I have a similar one from last summer w/ my kids, and it really makes me miss Disney!

So much food! Did the boys get stuffed?

Cute pic with the Mickey ice cream bars! I'd love to see a 5 minutes later picture of your younger one! ;)

Enjoying the report! :thumbsup2

I'm in! Lovin' your report and all the pics! Your boys are so cute! Makes me want to get back soooo bad!...but with #4 due in a couple weeks...I'm praying we're able to go next summer. Can't wait for the rest!

Aren't those rope drop runners crazy?? The boys and I were always like ":sad2:" I was irritated too with the parents at Jedi Training academy-I cautioned the boys in advance that they may very well NOT be chosen, and Evan was still devastated when he wasn't. Some mom called the Jedi Master off the stage after all the kids had been chosen, and after some consultation with CM's , he took her son up on the stage too. Everyone was like "WTHeck??" Oh well..

I laughed at your statement about the boys being fresh today!! Hope it goes better tomorrow:laughing:

i just started reading your report. very cute so far. your kids are adorable and i agree that the pic of your son looking at pluto was great! as for the rude parents at the jedi training....i hate when people use their kids like that. when i went last october, these people pushed their children in front of me and others when waiting for the ferry and of course now that their kids had gotten thru the line, they had to go in front of us to keep their party together and it turned out there were 15 of them! UGGHH! glad you were able to shake it off. looking forward to reading more.

I'm hooked. popcorn::

Your boys are darling. Looks like you had a great trip. We had a similar experience at Jedi training in 2006 and have not been back since. DS waited for so long and was one of the only ones there until right before the show and then he just kept getting pushed back. Its amazing to me how rude people can be. :sad2:

You guys look like you're having SO much fun! I'm glad I"m not the only one bothered by the heat. It was SO HOT!

Just wait until Day 6!!!! I have a great "After" photo!! Yes we were all full the entire trip. I think next time we will do the character breakfasts in the morning, and snack credits for a light lunch, and then signature meals for dinners. We really liked not having to worry about paying for the food. (even though we paid before- it still felt like we were getting food for free)

LOL Yes they are better. They both came back with colds and my 5 year old looked at me yesterday with the saddest eyes and said, "I MISS DISNEY":sad1:

I am not really surprised so many people have had a bad experience there... I think we will skip it next time. Other than that, we had an AWESOME trip though.. so many good times, and laughs!! I miss it already.

You guys look like you're having SO much fun! I'm glad I"m not the only one bothered by the heat. It was SO HOT!

WELCOME HOME!!!!!!!! UGH the heat. It was CRAZY HOT.

IMG_1999.jpg

Today we were SO excited to start our day. We were up waiting for our wake up call and ready to go! Wayne and I LOVE Epcot!! We had the Princess Storybook breakfast scheduled for 8:10AM but first had to stop and take some beautiful pictures of all the garden displays. Let me say again- it is AWESOME being in the park before it opens. It was so peaceful and relaxing.

IMG_2000.jpg

IMG_2001.jpg

IMG_2008.jpg

We arrived for our breakfast and waited for about ten minutes. We had to then wait in a line for our picture with Belle. She was beautiful!!

The moment we sat down, the waitress came by and explained to go get stuff from the cold buffet and then she would bring a platter of hot items and to get our books out because the Princesses were coming around.

IMG_2009.jpg

IMG_2014.jpg

Wayne was really hoping to get a picture of him and Jasmine, but she wasn't there. Instead to my wonderful surprise.....

IMG_2010.jpg

we saw Cinderella instead!!!!

I don't really know what the boys thought of this breakfast. They were kind of shy... and acted like they could care less about the Princesses. I felt like we were rushed. We were seated at 8:30 and was out of there and had seen all the princesses by 9:00. It worked out good though because Myles and Wayne went straight to Test Track and walked right on, and I went over to Soarin and got fast passes and then met them at Nemo - which we all walked right on!

IMG_2017.jpg

IMG_2022.jpg

So by 10:00, we had done Test Track, Soarin, Crush, and Nemo!! Myles had a small meltdown in the gift shop at Nemo. Of course every ride has a gift shop you have to walk through after the ride, and Myles wanted to get 2 more stuffed animals. (He already got about 4 of them) We told him the day had just started and at the end of the day if he still wanted them then we would come back and get them. Well, this set him off. He was so tired and you could just see he was so overwhelmed, excited, tired!!! At this point, we should have been heading over to Coral Reef for our lunch ADR, but instead we sat by the fountains with two HOT, CRANKY kids and decided to have a water and a popsicle! (The Pineapple Fruit bar was so yummy and was just what we needed to get back on track)

We met up with our neighbors, and we all rode Journey Into Imagination. Then we decided to head home, have a quick lunch at the food court and take a much needed nap!!

For lunch Wayne got the Muffaletta and I had the Taco Salad. We both used our dessert credits on Oreo Cookie Shakes! YUMO!!!! Actually the whole lunch was great. Owen slept through the whole lunch. (which was great because it gave me and Wayne a chance to relax a little and enjoy our lunch)

After lunch we went back to the room and all took a nap. Well until the phone rings and wakes us all up and asks if we want our room cleaned! Um, HELLO!? What is the point of the "Do not Disturb" sign on the door, if you are going to call and disturb. It was ok though, we had all gotten about an hour and we wanted to get changed and go back to Epcot for LeCellier!!!

I know I sound like a broken record but this day was the hottest that we had experienced- I am talking 100 degrees of HOT SUN and no shade. By the time we got to LeCellier we were SOAKED. We arrived at 5:30 for our dinner ADR and Myles surprised all of us when we walked in and spotted a Hidden Mickey in the Wine Cellar behind the hostess desk. He got some special attention and stickers. It was a great start to our meal.

IMG_2029-1.jpg

What an amazing place this is. (It didnt hurt that the AC was nice and cold!!) Within 5 minutes of sitting down, we all felt great. The atmosphere was great- our waitress was AWESOME and the food was incredible. The boys were so good during this dinner. They were laughing and kissing each other, and we all talked and laughed. It was just a great dinner, and a good memory that I will have from our trip.

IMG_2031.jpg

Here are some pics of our DELISH Dinners!!

IMG_2027.jpg

IMG_2028.jpg

Mushroom Risotto Filet- So good!!!!!

For Dessert we got lot's of celebration plates and two yummy Irish Coffee's

IMG_2032.jpg

IMG_2033.jpg

IMG_2034.jpg

IMG_2035.jpg

After dinner we went outside (2 hours later) and the sun wasn't so hot. There was a slight breeze, and we all felt great and ready to go do "A Mission".

Our first Kim Possible Mission was Norway. The boys had a blast! Is Disney clever or what!? This was so cool.

IMG_2036.jpg

IMG_2038.jpg

After the mission, we stopped at some of the spots for the kids to get passports, and they were decorating masks. How funny is this picture!!!???

IMG_2042.jpg

By this time Illuminations was about to start so we went and found a place in France to watch them.... how convenient, we were right next to this cart... and how could we resist a Grey Goose Slushie!

IMG_2044.jpg

We have our yummy drink, our perfect spot, the announcer comes on and said the show would start in 5 minutes and Myles turns to us and says, " I have to go to the bathroom" Doesn't that just figure!!! Wayne took him and they made it back as the show was just starting. Phew!! As they were in the bathroom Owen and I took silly pictures.

IMG_2045.jpg

I don't know what it is about this show. Wayne and I tear up every time. Watching Owen's little face "ooh and aghh" and pointing to the fireworks with his big smile, just brought tears to my eyes nevermind the powerful music and beautiful fireworks. It was AWESOME and such a perfect ending to another great day in Disney!

IMG_2057.jpg

After Illuminations we walked around a bit and Wayne had to get the School Bread he had heard so much about. (I have to say just IMO, I didn't like it. It tasted like a bagel with coconut on it and boston creme filling)
