The good news is we're in with DVC...the Bad news is we're in with DVC

We got our acceptance letter yesterday in the mail (and since we had a little financial "baggage", it was a pleasant surprise). But we've had a new house bug that started itching last summer then went dormant when school started but has started to itch again the past few weeks (must be winter cabin fever). We've narrowed our search to a specific homebuilder and community. (Anyone have a Ryland home??). Anyway, I feel we should exercise our 15 day grace to cancel our membership so that we dump some debt. to make our financial image better to prospective home mortgage lenders. But even my husband (who I NEVER thought would go for DVC) doesn't want to give it up. We still talk about our holiday vacation in December and all the good times.

I know DVC will be there in the future in the form of resales if nothing else. But with the five of us in 1800 sq. feet...it's time to move out!

So (sniff, sniff) I never got to hear my 'welcome home's' from you all. So, alas, I will have to live my DVC dreams vicariously through you all. Thanks for all your excellent information and answers to all my DVC questions.!!

Vicki....sounds like you are making the right decision for you. And yes, DVC isn't going anywhere and you need to take care of the place you stay 51 weeks of the year before worrying about a vacation home!! :p

Best wishes in your new home. :)

You have put the "welcome home" mat in the right place.

No better way to say it!

Best wishes -

DVC is not for everyone, and you have to take care of your home and family first!

Glad to see you are prioritizing! DVC will still be here in the future, and you can always rent points for a trip now and then.
