DD Lexi -8 AKA Mouth Almighty- Loves Mickey- totally believes with all her heart in the characters and the magic of Disney.
Grandma -my mom- in her 70s she is in great shape and can keep up with anyone but has trouble seeing. Has been on many WdW trips with us. Is staying in Fl. ater this trip until we come back in May to pick her up.
Nanny- Dhs mom- in her 50s (she started a lot sooner than my mom) never been to WDW or traveled much. Doesnt live near us and works a lot so she and Lexi have never spent that much time together.
Day two started off COLD! We were supposed to go to Fantasmic that night and had the dinner package. Since we were worried about the cold DH called to see about changing it to another night. The woman he talked to was very helpful and he booked the Norway Princess breakfast for the next morning and Fantasmic another night. About 5 minutes after he hung up the girl called back, Sorry she did it wrong, we could have no princess breakfast and the only Fantasmic was a 3:40 dinner. Try telling an 8 year old and a newly character obsessed Nanny that no they will not be eating with Snow White! Well after further conversation with Disney dining we ended up with lunch at the Castle on Monday and no Fantasmic package but we figured fine well just wait for Fantasmic like everyone else. Lexi and Nanny rejoiced! Lunch in the Castle! That was the best news yet! I told Dh we should call back later and check with Dining because with all that canceling and reserving I think he gave that girl our cc number 10 times, I was not confident we were all on the same page. More on that later!
So the plan for today was go to Downtown Disney for the morning and Animal Kingdom for the afternoon. Friends had given us a Rain Forest Café club pass and a gift certificate so we planed to do lunch there. I am familiar with cold, I live in Maine. Let me tell you it was warmer in Maine on this Saturday than it was at DTD, what a wind! We all wore our gloves -a gift from that scam man Mickey! While at DTD Nanny was possessed by that brain disease that says look how cute, it has Mickey on it, my life will not be complete with out it, I must buy it! Dh and I have built up a few antibodies to this disease since we have been exposed to it many times, but poor Nanny she had no immunity at all! After leaving quite a bit of cash with the World of Disney store we headed for the Rain Forest café at AK. We got in with no wait and it was a big hit with Mouth, she loves animals. She likes pigs so much she wont eat pork but chicken nuggets; well, we all have our price and that is hers. She had Chicken nuggets and mac and cheese. The Grandmas had some booze to ease the sting of the cold and the shopping, Nanny had 2 in fact. When we got the bill it was 128.00 after using our Safari card and the G.C. the bill was 38.00! Dh didnt question it and we were shocked. Come to find out they let us use all three coupon things we had and our G. C. was for 50.00! The friends who gave it to us never said how much it was for. I called to ask them and say thanks, I wish Id bought them a better Christmas present now. We were in AK by 12:30 and out of the wind it was fine. We did dinosaur and Its Tough to be a Bug , the Lion King, Pocahontas, the Safari and the trail with the gorillas. Considering AK closed at 5 we got a lot done. Mouth loves the animals and took 1000 pictures of far away animals. Love that digital camera - you can delete! We headed back to CBR, ate dinner in the food court- I dont remember what all we had except Mouth, who of course had the chicken nugget pail. We all went to our rooms, where Grandma informed Nanny that the maid must have left her cell phone in their room. Nanny was nice enough to help her out and let her know it was the TV remote. I told you she doesnt see too well. Today was a little anti climatic compared to our magical and warm day at MK yesterday, but tomorrow is Soarin and Epcot so everyone was in good spirits.
