The girls hit Disneyland! (TRIP-REPORT)

Just got back from DRP

It was awsome DLP is just magical and so so beautiful, I felt like a child again

The only bad thing was that due to the vulcanic ashes, Portugal airports closed, and we got stuck at the airport for 36 hours since sunday. It was terrible, I cried so much, not knowing when I would be back, feeling so lonely and desperate...
I just got home yesterday late night.


Overall, it was a great trip. I'll start my trip-report tonight ;

(btw, does anyone know if Rosabelle made it to DLP too?)

Glad to hear you enjoyed the trip and got home - even though it was a bit later than you wanted. Looking forward to your trip report.

Most UK airports have been open, so hopefully Rosabelle will be ok. We managed home last Thursday though our airport, Edinburgh, had closed on the Wednesday for a bit, the family behind us had been stuck in Paris for an extra day.

Where: all the way from Portugal to hotel Santa Fe

I set the alarm clock for 4 am, as our flight was at 7am, and even though I almost didnt sleep, due to excitment, I got up very easily. I went downstairs, painted my nails, checked my email... Just trying to relax, cool-down before the big trip ahead of me.
Mon woke up shortly after, and prepared me a huge breakfast: milk, orange juice, french toasts, cookies... Mmmm, all the energy I needed.

Rosana met us at my house, and the we all headed to the airport. It was still night, the sky full of stars... Perfect!

Our flight was right on time, and after saying goodbye to a teary mother, I got into the plain, feeling so grown-up.
We arrived at Orly airport at 9.50h, colected our luggage - it didnt get lost after all xD - and wainted for the next VEA bus, at 10.40h. It was freezing cold outside, very windy, so we waited at the lobby. The bus was right on time too, and so we arrived at Santa Fe around 11.30h. I just couldnt stop looking at every little thing, every pictures, every piece of forniture, every person... I felt dazzled for beign at Disneyland!
After beign given the breakfast for 7am (auch!) following the advice of choosing the earliest breakfast slot, we checked-in, and we were given the chance to take breakfast next morning at "Au challet de marionnette". So, we ended up having two breakfast tickets for the next day!

Our room was at building 18, and despite all my concerns, it was in great shape, very clean and smell lovelly. So, after dropping the bags, we headed to Disneyland Park straight away.

We walked to the parks - thats what we did in the next days, too, as the walk was so nice, even in freezing cold. I was wearing my pink cap and globes, feeling gratefull that I had packed then this morning just before I left home. Rosana brought very little winter clothes, but she said she was just fine.

I got all teared up when we step into Main St. The Castle ahaed of us... I dont think I'll ever forget that moment. Every since I was a child I dreamed of going there, and now my dream was finnaly comming true.

We ran into the castle, but found Ratatui on the way, so we stop to take a picture. He was soooooo cute! I just love This picture:

We decided not to ask the characters for autographs, since we're old enough to apreciate a picture more that a signature. Whatever, I was in heaven!

We visited the castle, watched the Sleeping Beauty's show from the balcony, and then ran into Adventureland, and did Pirates. It was a 10 min queue, the longest we faced that day. After, we went on Indiana Jones.
We we're quite hungry then, so we got hot-dogs from a cart, and I made the mistake of putting moustard on it: it was very very spicy!

after our so-called lunch, we did phanton Mannor, and I loved the singing heads xD

Discoveryland. We went on Space Mountain 2. It was soooooo cool!! Although I got a really bad headache there, those seats are quite unconfortable, we came back to Space Mountain many many times on the following days...

We checked our programme and realised the parade was only 30 min away, so we headed to pizzeria Bella Notte to find a spot - once again, follwing the advices given here, on the boards . It was a great spot to see the princesses dance, I just wanted to cross over and dance with them all!

After the parade, we went on Its a small world - so cute! - but felt a little disapointed that there was nothing about Portugal :s
Then, we went on teacups, Carrocel de Lancelot, and Alice's curious labyrith, where we wandered for like 10 min searching for the exit, even though we've passed by it 3 times

We were quite tired, so decided to slowly go back to our room, checking the stores, taking some pictures...

We fell asleep for a little while in our bedroom, watching Hanna Montana in french, and woke up at 9pm. We went to Mcdonalds, facing the freezing wind again.
No stroll today: we went back to our room. I wet the bathroom floor while taking a shower, and so Rosana had to rob the Housekeeper's car to get more towels xD It took 6 towels to clean it!

The beds were really confortable. just like you said. I fell asleep like a baby, but woke up in the middle of the night because of Rosana's snoring xD

Fabulous first day

I remember that feeling of seeing the castle for the first time too

You managed to get loads done, you must have been tired with the early start. Looking forward to the next day

Got that Mickey wake up call at 6.40am I would never get up that early at home

Rosana wouldnt wake up, so I threw my pillows at her 'till she got out of bed.
It was really cold outside, so we took our winter gear again.
So, today, we had 2 breakfast: one at Santa Fe, and the second at Au challet de Marionette, all because the CM that checked us in made a msitake, and we ended up with two breakfast tickets.
Breakfast at Santa Fe was ok, nothing special, I really missed my fresh apples in the morning. They should really consider having fresh fruit, I think

Then, we walk to the parks. Like I said, it was sooo cold in the morning, and I looked like it had been raining. Disneyland Park was very calm, we did ALL EMH rides! Rosana was really mad at me because I got the highest score at Buzz, even though I was filming with my camera all the ride

We then looked at the clock, almost 10am, so ran into WDS. WOW, the entrance is beautiful!!! I felt like a movie star, dancing at "Somewhere over the raibow"

Mickey and Minnie were doing a meet'n'greet just around Studio 1, so we join the crowd. We were there for 10 min, when some really mean laddies step in our way, saying their children should go first,just because we're "too old to take photos with Mickey". I was so mad!!!

Anyway, didnt waste any more time there, and only took a couple of steps when I saw... STITCH! I love Stitch Rosana doesnt like him very much, but I ran immediatly to his arms

We checked Crush out, but queue was already 45 min So we went on Cars, and then ran to Rock'n'roller.

OMG, what a great ride! I couldnt stop laughing when I got out, full of adrennaline

We wanted to try ToT, but once we entered the lobby, Rosana saw the scarys CM's and asked me to leave. I didnt let her, and just 5 minutes later, we were screaming the hell out of us No nedd to say I loved TOT too


We thought about doing Armaggedon, but quit after a 15 min wait outside. We just couldnt see the point of waiting so much when we had so many things to try
We did Cinemagique after, and this time, we both loved it. What a great show!

It was 45 min to Stars and Cars parade start, so we got a great spot right in front of the stage, hoping we could get a photo with some of the characters in the end. i eventually regreted we had waited so much, because none of the characters seemed to listen to our calls :/ I understand though, there were lots of children wanting a picture as well, and they went to them first.

Anyway, we we're gonna do R'n'R again, but it broke down. So we decided to check the Stunt show. We waited for almost an hour (I haaaaate to wait!) but it was worth it. My dad would have loved to watch it.

After the show, we did Art of Disney Animation, ToT (although Rosana wasnt happy about it) and RnR twice.

Back to the hotel, to rest for a while, and then dinner at Cafe Mickey

Dinner was very fun, though Minnie ignored us all evening. We saw Mickey, Chip n Dale, Cpt Hook and that pirate I cant remember the name, Tiger, and the bad guy from The Hunchback of Nottre.
I had the garlic mushrooms (so delicious *.*), lasagna and creme brule. Rosana had the same, but ate steak instead of lasagna.

After dinner, we stroll around Village for a while, did some shopping... And then, bed. We were, as you may imagine, exausted, but thrilled with so many Disney Adventures

A great day at the studios! You have just as much right to have your photo taken with Mickey as the little ones - and I have a little one myself! Glad you got to meet Stitch!!

Minnie was very elusive when we ate in Cafe Mickey - until they played the Freedom song when she came out to dance and then disappeared when it was over. Luckily my DD went over & danced with her or she wouldn't have seen her all evening (We were there 6.15-10.00!!)
